  5. Hi Ian sorry it sold through a Facebook post i put up last night about 5 mins after i posted this advert. It was a cracking car, i'm sad to see it go Not sure about the pm's, i will have a look now.
  6. Hi I'm selling my spare micro, it's an EMB-1 and comes as a complete setup thats ready to race. Charge it up and go Price is £130 posted or £120 picked up from either The Eurotech Arena in Plymouth or TRAC (Torbay) This is a very good price considering what you are getting, the car is set up ready to race. I lent it to a friend who entered the Torbay Micro National round with us and he did very well with it. What's included.... It comes with 5 shells, 1 brand new and ready to paint. 5 lipos (2 of the balance leads need soldering but work/charge spot on), charger, power supply, wheel transmitter, 1 receiver, 1 LC racing 28mm motor, 1 unbranded 28mm motor, 7 sets of wheels and tyres (some foams, Yellow rally blocks etc), front cvd's, spare esc, spare servo, spare pinions, loads of spare bearings, losi mini 8 roll bars, lots of spare screws and a host of spare parts. Arms, spurs, gears etc The car itself is fitted with a 60 amp hobbywing EzRun esc and the spare unbranded motor and is very quick if you wish to turn the punch and your end points up. I've also fitted the Carisma pro pistons to it last month. It handles really well and is a competitive car The only thing that's not included are my custom wing mounts, I have the standard ones included. Also my yellow wheels. Strangley the Wheel transmitter and receiver picture hasn't saved to my phone but i will take another and upload it. Cheers
  7. I'll get loads of pictures this week to upload on here to show you lot what your missing . A visit to the Eurotech Arena should be on your list of top 10 things to do before you die
  8. Oh nice, it fit's properly! Yeah I think i remember now, you have to have the overhang of the wire mounting plate to give you more room over the servo post. Yeah like RCMonkee says we will be at the track by 6pm to set up. I'm aiming for 5.30. Come up and enjoy the racing The only thing I would suggest is getting one of those clip on heat sinks for the motor and a fan. They get crazy hot hot hot.
  9. Just to give the thread a bump Anything going on in the world of GTB's? Anyone fitted anything new ??
  10. Yeah thats the way you want to mount it :), that's spot on! You can push the esc under the top deck a little more or is your servo mount stopping it? It will go under a bit more if you wanted it too. I've not had a chance to get a picture of mine close up but here's a recent one that shows it from a fairly decent angle. I'll get a better one tomorrow. Also, as your esc is sensored you should get a Carisma sensored motor fitted in there. The way the power is put down is just so so smooth
  11. Ok so yeah it will deffo fit. I'll get a picture of mine for you. Also while I remember, do you have the servo mounts in the normal position or is one in the normal and one in the flipped round position. Your need to flip the mount round onto the other side of the servo fixing points to get the esc to fit better, if you've not done this your need to drill a small hole in the chassis to fix the Thumbs mount to. The esc fits in with the sensor port facing the servo. I'll get a picture, it will be easier lol
  12. Ah yeah that can happen, also if the screws are too wide, this weakens the mounts too. I use some short thing screws and the mounts do hold fine. Is the ESC that you run sensored? is it the one like in the link below? If it is i run the same esc with the thumbs design mounts. It is tight but it all fits in ok, you just need to be creative on what way round it all goes lol. I'll get a picture of mine for you. You don't need a different esc, it will all fit in http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/264634/?gclid=Cj0KEQiAh4fEBRCZhriIjLfArrQBEiQArzzDAQdxK8OvaYc9fkvOc0hZagLzKxmriAjb__FrmtOJQpoaApeZ8P8HAQ
  13. Basically what RCMonkee says. Pop up on a Thursday and bring your car with you. The Thumbs servo mounts are really good but are printed so seem to be a bit weaker then others and after time start to crack/split. Our 10th and Micro race night is on a Thursday and doors open around 5.30/6 with racing starting by 7.30
  14. Micro A final from Thursday 16th Dec. Check out the new kicker jump!! We ran the table top in the middle of the track this week. It worked really well. Next weeks layout features a bigggggggggggggggggg jump/tabletop/landing all on the straight
  15. It doesn't look it but the Losi shell must be a fair bit lower than the EMB and GTB shells. The Emb that i have, almost the same car to the Mini 8 runs a Carisma GTB shell and my esc fits under fine, there a fair bit of room between the esc and the top of the shell. The mini 8 shell must be a lot lower because that esc would usually fit in. It might be worth Googling how people fit them? Is the play from the wheel coming from a bearing that broke or is it coming from the hex? It might just need a washer between the hex and the wheel to pack it out a little. Thumbs design do crush tubes that go between the bearings but not sure if they fit the mini 8? It might just be my eyes, i am fairly blind lol but have you still got the protective film on the outside of the wing? Where the stickers are stuck on? I like the carbon towers! Very posh
  16. Hi yeah, they are the capacitors/power cap for the ESC, they keep the input power going into the esc smooth, or at leas that's how i understand them working. If you chop them out you will need to replace them with some more. The ones that you see on the top the my servo are made by Hobbywing and i bought them from MB Models (link below). The ones that are with the esc are a bit of a nightmare in such a small space. https://www.rccarshop.co.uk/electrics/power-caps/hw86030030-hobbywing-power-capacitor-p I've not seen the 35 amp heat sinks sold separate, you might need to buy a 35 amp esc to get one but tbh if you can make the 60 amp esc fit then just stick with that and it's original heat sink. Nah you can use the esc straight out the box. The ESC will be set to factory settings so the punch will be fairly high, i think factory is either 6 or 7 out of a possible 9. Your have the Low Voltage cut off set to i think 3.4v and the over heat protection is on from factory. If you need a program card, either one below works with your esc. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobbywing-xerun-ezrun-quicrun-program-card-for-esc/rc-car-products/377036 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/191809574688?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=39159866351&rlsatarget=aud-105106656306%3Apla-268911529378&adtype=pla&poi=&googleloc=9045285&device=c&campaignid=698622927&crdt=0 I race a Carisma GTB so all the technical stuff like the slipper on the Losi / EMB needs to be answered by someone else, i'm pretty clueless on this model lol. Although i have both an EMB and a mini 8 i don't race them but the electric side of things i know well.
  17. Slightly better angle, if you can get it something like this your fit it in.
  18. That's the one in the EMB. Don't ditch that esc. They are extremely good! If you cut the wires to a short as you think you can get away with that will also help loads with spacing things.
  19. Remove the fan, we run those esc's at the nationals and they very very very rarely get hot enough to cut out without a fan. I can't remember a time when mine cut out. With the fan removed it should fit under the shell. I run the same in my EMB. I run a sensored Carisma setup in my GTB now but i used to run the same esc in that and ive never run a fan on them. You can also run the heat sink from the 35 amp version, this is slightly lower still and again, your find it very hard to get it thermal. I'll upload some pics of mine.
  20. We have created an event for the race night that falls between Christmas and New Year, Thursday the 29th December. Basically the idea is to run a more relaxed night with an earlier setup, slightly earlier start and a slightly later finish. We will also run an extra round, maybe 2 if time is on our side . It's also a good chance for anyone who has been thinking about coming to race with us to come up. The layout will be epic, fast, flowing and totally sweet!! Both Micro and 10th 2wd/4wd buggies are welcome up. Here's the event details https://www.facebook.com/events/393026844362941/
  21. Do you reckon you could make up a set of foams out of say a GT12 set, cut them up and glue them round? They would be no use for outside on gravel or mud but would be ok indoors on a few surfaces?
  22. This is a friend of mines car, he has a 24b shell sprayed up in his colours
  23. I can only speak for the Carisma GT24's buggy as i've never had a go with any of the other small scale brands. The Carisma ones though are really good and great fun for the money, i think they are around £75 or £80. There's a few guys i know who have upgraded theirs a bit, you can fit a 2's lipo, alloy shocks etc etc. They have also got them working with sticks instead of the wheel transmitter that's supplied. Spares support seems to be good, Carisma are very good with their spares on their other scale/classes. I race a Carisma GTB and the quality is extremely good and strong. These are just the same but smaller
  24. Alright everyone, here's an update on our micro racing . Below are a few pics and a vid of last Thursday's A final WE ALSO HAVE A CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR RACE NIGHT ON THIS MONTH. DECEMBER 29TH, PUT THAT IN YOUR DIARY! https://www.facebook.com/South-West-Indoor-RC-262447823948047/ He struggles with that controller though ^^^^^^^^^^^
  25. We will be having some more Micro madness this Thursday evening if there's anyone around Plymouth that wants to join us Racing from 7.30
