  1. Put the mini savage back together, fitted one of the powerHD 20kg servo's whilst I was at it too.
  2. If you want to bash and crash then get the slash, but for me it's the tekno everytime, if you want to jump properly and not just parachute about then the extra weight of the tekno (nearly 1kg) makes a heck of a difference when it comes to stability in the air, it jumps much more like a proper buggy. As mentioned I've had a slash, and I had fun with it, but it's more of a comedy style of jumping/bashing about, whereas with the tekno it is much more controlled. They both have their plus' and minus'..... well....the only minus for the Tekno is it's more expensive and you'll have to order the parts offline But for what you have discussed i'd probably opt for a bog standard brushless slash, you don't need the platinum.
  3. All the way from China, £26 though! Ample good enough for the savage xs + for a spare. I run the 'genuine' one in my tekno and i've had a good look can't tell any difference without stripping it down.
  4. I've had a flo-tek body and they do work but what you'll find is it's extra places for cracks to start....unless you shoe goo (like I should of done!!) When I chopped my helion shell I just used a bodyreamer to ream some holes. I'd use a reamer to ream a hole that you can then get a knife into to cut extra pieces out
  5. BZM micro made my stock 26cc rip, it's not THAT loud either, proper two stroke sound!!!
  6. Going that fast I can't work out if it's an S2000 or a Z4
  7. Start small and work your way up regards temps/speed. Trial and error
  8. Yes the tekno is a much better truck. You can also convert to an 8th E buggy if you want to.
  9. This is now obsolete as I have my Tekno. It's been sat in my loft with no running gear but I had the spare Titan 550 + brushed ESC from my bigfoot which I have fitted. I will include the pinion that the motor came with. Motor/ESC/Battery has been used 3-4 times tops. This would make an ideal basher for a young 'en, or if someone wants to put a brushless set up back in there. The Wheels are brand new DE borrego's. Brand new schuey mini pins (silver) + brand new schuey hard foams. Now these were glued to the stock helion wheels, I removed and have re glued to these wheels, look a little rough on the insides due to re gluing but they are stuck fast and are not going anywhere! The wheel/tyre combo alone is worth £40. The shell is the proline flo tek raptor that I had on my tekno. I have shoe goo'd and tried to repair as best I Can, luckily the rear posts I have moved around and made new holes so it is actually pretty secure. Certainly fine for some bashing and can repair with more shoe goo if needed. No servo, I am waiting on some Chinese Power HD servo's to arrive, (not holding my breath) But if they arrive before this sells I Can come to an agreement to fit one. Brand new spares included; 2x lower arms 3x bushes 1x bush holder 1x steering link assembly 1x steering hub (the other hub is fitted + is brand new, haven't used the truck since) It's been well looked after. As mentioned. Perfect first RC car for a young en or for anyone wanting a cheap basher/ indoor carpet SCT £75 posted, Collection welcome from Lincolnshire.
  10. Hi fella, I'm well into my short course and can offer my opnion! For the price of the Slash platinum, i'd strongly consider looking into the Tekno SCT410.3. The tekno will come in kit form + needs running gear. I.E, motor/esc/shell/wheels/servo. The truck is available from RPRC - https://www.rprcdistribution.com/tekno-kits And parts backup is good with these guys. You may end up spending an extra 150 over the slash kitting it out but the truck will out bash, out race, totally dwarf a slash in performance/durability terms every single time. A few guys on here will vouch for how tough Tekno kits are, although the slash is a quality basher it doesn't have nothing on the sct410 I love mine, i've crashed and bashed mine on the track, I've probably only put 5-6 hours on mine so far but nothing even looks like breaking (apart from the shell!) It still feels brand new They are hard as nails!! I've had a slash and was impressed by it but for the money...well over priced.
  11. Not yet mate - I was just about to text you asking what that tape was called what I needed! Yet again my masking prooved to be the downfall with some paint seepage but it does look pretty cool!
  12. Selling my Radon ZR team Mountain bike, This was bought from Germany so the brakes are the opposite way around to conventional UK bikes! I don't use the bike so may as well let it go. Expensive bike new, perfect for trailing/general riding! 26" wheels Rock shox Reba Front forks ( which you can lock out ) Race face bar + stem Schwalbe Tyres Carbon FSA seatpost Shimano SLX crankset Shimano deore XT Derailleur (9speed cassette) Alex EN24 rims on Shimano hubs (quick release F+R) Hayes Stroker Ryde Hydraulic disc brakes F+R Bike is in good condition, Some wear to front chainring but perfectly useable, runs nice and smooth Comes with pump for the forks. £350 Collection from Gainsborough, Lincs. Sadly I cannot meet/delivery anymore as I only have my MX5 and it will not fit in the boot!!
  13. I'd recommend a Savage XS, I've given mine some abuse but they are niggly to work on if you're wanting something simple then that may be an issue, other than that a super little truck.... You only need to run 2s which keeps the cost of batteries down + they fit in your backpack!
  14. @Si Coe Cheers fella that's cleared things up nicely. My yellows do look noticeably worn (compared with the new silvers) but as you have mentioned it was only this Sunday where I noticed a definite drop in bite from them! Seems like I can't really grumble getting 5 trips out of them. These haven't been race meets either just days down at the track so i'm talking probably 5/6 hours worth of run time... And last time around at Deerdale it was 28 degree's! How do the mini spikes go on astro compared with pins? Still need to find some tougher inserts but there isn't much choice out there for SCT
  15. Well I smashed my nice flo-tek shell to pieces around the body posts on Sunday Which has rendered it useless, even though the rest of the shell itself has minimal damage! It still looks new besides the fact it pops off as soon as you roll over My fault really as I should of strengthened it before I caused too much damage. Can't be replacing a shell every 4/5 times I go to the track so must shoe goo from now on!!! Anyway @capri-boy had a J concept version of the same shell going spare so picked it up last night and gave it a lick of paint. Prefer it to the previous - just doesn't have the cut out's for air flow so going to have to mod it a bit myself.
  16. well mr postie, AKA me went to collect this J concept shell from @capri-boy yesterday - cheers dude
  17. Morning guys, I've been running schuey mini pins (yellow) on my Tekno truck, I've been to the track 5 times and they are absolutely shot through?! I have used the schuey so called 'hard' foams but they appear to soften really quickly. My question to any of you guys who have been on the astro with an SCT, how many meets was you getting out of your tyres? The yellow are the middle ground, with silver being soft and blue hard. I do have a set of silvers but i'd be surprised if they last 1 meet! I know the 8th buggy lads can get upto 6 months out of their yellow mini pins(ok this isn't at top racer level) but they are still serviceable, i've shredded mine in to time at all Going to try the blue compound next but don't want to compromise too much on grip. Any other recommended tyres for astro? Also would like to know what other foams you guys have used as i'm really not impressed with the schumacher's.
  18. Tekno Tanks They really are something else when it comes to durability.
  19. Tried with various Helion parts and none let me use points. No worries, I'm in no parts rush i'll fire Nige a message sure he knows the crack. just noticed you have 2000 points, yikes fair amount of business gone Nige's way outa your back pocket
  20. Beat me to it, I'll email Nige see what's going on
  21. @Rover Man Can you please try add any of the Helion Select Four 10 SC bodyshells into your basket and see if it comes up with the points option for you? It seems that it's only the Helion parts that aren't co-operating.
  22. I've just tried it with different item's and it brings that page up, It seems to be certain helion parts whether it says in stock/low stock that just don't want to play ball
