  1. I have one of those and on a standard battery set up it is quick, i have tried it with the more expensive batteries and it became very quick so was not usable in any reasonably confined spaces, it is a really good fun toy. I only bought it as my 8 year old wanted an RC car so bought him a tamiya lunchbox which is great fun, i bought the truck to go and play with and join him, makes the lunch box look like a snail!!
  2. Thanks guys, put a new receiver in it today and new chips and it has been run up and down the road a few times, all is good. I asked in the shop what they thought the value might be and they reckoned around
  3. Hi all, as mentioned in an earlier post I am resurrecting a yankee92 1/4 scale Porsche 911 which doesn't need much spending now to get it all running just a bit of wiring tidied and a new receiver. The body has its fair share of dings as you would expect with a 20+ odd year old rc car. I would be interested to know what people think it's value would be as I have been asked if I would sell it. The fact is that all the cars I have inherited are going to be sold to raise cash for great Ormond street, that may end up meaning that I end up donating myself to keep some of them or they may be advertised for sale, this is my uncles wish who is still with us but in care and cant keep them. So people, what do you think it's worth when fully working?? http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/album/3035-/
  4. If you have a good centre punch you can tap it in near the outside edge of the bolt head then angle it and try to hammer the bolt round in the direction to undo it.
  5. I have several transmitters, a futaba is the one that I think was meant to go with it, the servo's are all futaba although for steering it's running two in tandem. There is also a quest fail safe fitted but really I need to take it all apart and check wiring as it's all housed in two plastic boxes at the moment. The servo's have the numbers s3302 on them.
  6. I,m going to pop it down the mot station when it's running and get the headlamps re aligned lol. As for the length and width I don't know but to give you some idea the body in the first pic is sat on top of the box for the Schumacher car I have, and the assembled car is in the box. lengthways it just fits in the boot of my mondeo estate with about an inch to spare.
  7. Parts are non existent so any bits it needs will have to be from 1/5th scale and modified to suit.
  8. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/album/3035-/ I have got the fuel primer sorted, tuned the carb a bit so it now runs really well but it needs a new receiver to get it fully up and running.

    Kyosho ?

Cheers, got the wheels and tyres sussed, here's a quick pic of the body all painted and on http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/24252-/

  11. Thanks for the replies guys, I must admit I did pop to a shop today and was looking at the new 2.4ghz kit and much as I want to keep the yankee "original" it does make sense to change it, have got the engine running really nice now so just need to sort the control side once I've been paid. Now as for the others I have got the kyosho running well and have been running the engine in today and had a bodywork session as it didn't have one, hopefully pics to follow of the yankee and the kyosho with its lovely new body.
  12. What you're saying sounds right, I have a 5 cell pack of batteries so it must be the right stuff, maybe the rx had degraded over several years, I do know that the last time this car ran properly was around 15 years ago so I was expecting to be replacing a few bits.
  13. The battery the model shop sold me after looking at the car and what was on it!!! Hmmm, better go check that, do thay not all run 7.6v as most battery packs are 7.6 aren't they???

    Kyosho ?

Hi all, I have posted in other sections about a car i'm trying to get going again, it is one of several that I have inherited. One of the others is a kyosho 1/10th car which is nitro. After much fiddling about I have got it going, it was built by a relative years ago and never quite properly finished, it had no bodyshell but was brand new unused so I had to check over it all and found the driveshaft bits were all loose and there was no pressure/return pipe to the tank from the exhaust. Got it going and it now runs fairly well, in amongst the bits I got was a Vauxhall astra bodyshell which I am going to paint and fit. There are several sets of wheels that fit it too with different tyres so was wondering what surface/ race formula would the car have been designed for?
  15. Can you suggest a good receiver/servo control unit (i'm sure there is a special name for it, feel free to educate me) to run some fairly big servo's. I got the engine running today but need to do some fettling with tuning the carb, all advice would be gratefully received. When I switched on the cars electrics the receiver unit just melted at the connection from the power lead.
