  1. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__56846__Multistar_High_Capacity_3S_4000mAh_Multi_Rotor_Lipo_Pack.html this is the one i saw on a youtube video. I think i will do the fc40, i have all my life to buy bigger and better, but at this early stage losing a grands worth would suck, but
  2. Thanks again fellas, i am now tempted by the fc40 complete kit and seeing that Hobbyking now have 4000mah lipos for this machine i am less concerfned about flight time, i was concerned that the phantom v2 lipos are about
  3. Thanks for that. I hadn't considered the frequency clash. Would I be better just getting the fc40 kit complete then?
  4. Hi guys I am loving the flying and after a little stint of my hubsan x4 i think i need to go bigger. I am considering the basic DJI Phantom V2 model weighing in at
  5. Today was better, i didnt use the erbe but i beat the snot out of my truggy flux on a concrete skate park, very unforgiving surface to do mahoosive back flips, surprise surprise i snapped another suspension holder, deciding i didnt want to buy yet another set i set about making my own out of toughened steel, This stuff is tough, i mean, really tough, its thin but it doesnt bend and drilling it is a nightmare, it took an hour or so and it aint pretty but its in: happy days!!
  6. After fixing a rear diff yesterday the revo didn't even get through a pair of lipos this morning before the erbe blew a diff bearing. Fixed again now but thoroughly fed up of it. Going to flog the erbe to go towards a dji phantom. Anyone want to make me an offer?
  7. The hubsan x4 has been an excellent learner for me, i have had it about 3 weeks now and flown it pretty much non stop. I can soar it around and kiss the ground at high speeds swooping from huge altitudes, i am really pleased with what i have learnt, i feel like i may be almost ready for something bigger, like the dji phantom, i cant recommend the x4 enough though. i have 5 batteries for it, 3 chargers and a load of props so i can fly as long as i want. I had my first minor repair today, one of the led wires came off the pcb, a quick resolder later and she is like new. Love it!!
  8. 100,000wt diff oil in the center diff cured the front ballooning for my truggy flux.
  9. the frustrating thing is that i am sick of changing diffs, the revo is so well designed but its built out of crap, when its in the air its just a joy to watch and control, but its a fair cry from 6s capable, sure the mmm is capable but the revo diffs are so poor, i run 4s and 5s and it struggles on those, i have also turned the torque down so it wont wheely, doesnt affect the top end much but its gentler on the diffs. I rebuilt the rear diff today and shimmed it perfectly, if this one goes quickly i will be tossing it in the bin! the truggy flux is half the price and i dont get any where near the problems out of that. Anyone thinking of buying traxxas really should think twice.
  10. Had my first minor repair to the hubsan x4. Had to resolder one of the leds to the pcb. To be fair after the spectacular crashes its had it has been amazingly strong.
  11. Yet another diff for the erevo. Seriously to anyone with
  12. I wish I lived closer. I love perranporth!! Sadly Cardiff is too far away. Next time I am on hols down there will be joining you for a race.
  13. I already have a hugely upgraded nitro revo sat on the shelf so the erbe will be good company for it. I am getting into the flying lately so really fancy a big fpv quad copter.
  14. Thanks for the reply tug. I will probably keep it then if that's what its worth. At over
  15. I am considering flogging the erbe. Its been upgraded to summit axles and has full rpm arms with the rpm tru track system on the rear. It has a 15kg single servo and the usual castle mmm system. Just fitted new diffs too. What's it worth chaps? Is it worth selling?
  16. Well the last time I used my Merv and erbe they were fine. I haven't used them in a few weeks since I picked up a hubsan x4 but yesterday I got the urge so charged up some lipos. The erbe rear diff was shagged again within a second despite it being ok when I put it away last time and the esc blew in the Merv the second I plugged it in. I think either they are peed off with me or more likely traxxas quality just plain sucks ass. My hpi truggy, brilliant My x4 has fallen from the clouds without so much as a snapped prop The traxxas kit dies just sitting there. Lol. Rant over.
  17. For the hubsan x4 3 full sets of props 3 lipo 380mah batteries 3 usb chargers New shell All from an ebay auction for a total of
  18. I have the x4 and its my first air rc. It's fab. Really strong and takes some serious abuse. I opted for the 2mp version and not the fpv. Apparently the fpv handset destroys a set of duracells in 30 minutes. Ouch.
  19. I love this thing, I found a big open field today and tried expert mode, up in the air almost out of sight, flips and really fast. This is turning into my new favourite toy.
  20. I am loving the x4. As a total air newb its great to control and reasonably easy to fly, I have even taken it into my street and flown above the roof tops, in a gentle breeze it proved pretty stable. Its set to normal mode and I have the prop guard on but for now its providing a good kick, the video recording is also excellent. She is also a tough little bird, apart from a bent prop she has sustained zero damage. Anyone tempted by the x4 I can't recommend it enough.
  21. After checking the royal mail tracking it appears that my replacement esc has arrived from hobbyking malasia, sadly I'm in Devon on hols and its in my local sorting office til I get home from hols. It's taken nearly 9 weeks to get the replacement under warranty. Still, malasia has had its fair share of bad luck lately so my annoyance is trivial compared to the grieving families.
