    XO-1!

After being a traxxas fanboy for many years i have followed the forums since it came out, there's a lot of disgruntled owners out there complaining of massive wheel slop, which on a car of that speed it shouldn't have, especially out of the box, i would never buy one, if i buy an rc that's capable of going that speed its got to be precise and not flopping around like a cock in a sock.
  2. Thanks fellas, so no use unless i am replacing the internal gears when they inevitably fail then.
  3. Hi guys, i have scoured the forum but cant find the answer, Does the grub screw in the side of the center diff have a purpose? I didn't like unloading all the power to the front wheels so filled my center diff with grease which helped hugely, i didn't notice the grub scree then though, does is lock up the diff or anything useful?
  4. They look epic, they are major popular for revos too, can i ask, is there a reason for 2 rear shocks on each corner? is that a upgrade worth doing?
  5. Thanks Doddy and everyone else for the tips, i have just fitted some droop screws from a few bits in my tool box: And i have adjusted to limit the drop of the arms to almost level I also found the servo poor the same as everyone else, i suspected a crappy plastic bush in the top to be the culprit of a tonne of the slop, it was, i opened the servo and fitted a 6x10x3 bearing in there, the same size as the steering posts, the slop has now completed disappeared from the servo, only a small ammout left in the linkages which i can live with. That was a worthwhile hour spent, thanks again for for all the tips everyone, its really helping.
  6. Thanks bro, that's a tip tip, didn't get the grub screws but will have something to go in there, how long are the stock grubs
  7. Lush, i will do that when these break, thanks, i really don't like the stupid little nut and thread lock thing that's stock. Seems real cheap.
  8. Lol, i was keen to get it fixed so just ordered stockers, thanks for the tip, when the new ones break i will do this mod, are the stadium shafts stronger then?
  9. well i beat the snot out of this morning, broke it on the first set of lipos, i was pushing it hard though, massive airs. I am not gentle on my rc's as you can tell, this looked like new before this morning Just ordered a new pair of shafts from ebay,
  10. Its a totally different truck, i didn't put a bid in or contact the seller, it looked great but for 350 i would have paid the extra 50 and bought it from modelsport, mine was up for 250 buy it now, i offered him 200 and we did the deal. Bargain.
  11. Not that one. You can get a new one for 400 from modelsport, he was asking a bit too much for that even though it was mint.
  12. I did just buy it from ebay, very happy with it, i have put more scratches on it in 2 days than the old owner did in 6 months. Its going down the beach with me in an hour so i am looking forward to getting some airs.
  13. Wow, i get scared about leaving mine fully charged over night, i charge, run, storage charge every time.
  14. Bearings in the steering posts of my truggy flux.
  15. No issue with sand, its all i run on, never cost me a bearing, i do have a big air compressor and clean it well after each run, a little blast of gt85 helps too. I like lone bashing. I give orders all week in work so alone time bashing or in my garage fixing is great for me.
  16. Hi all, i am a lone basher too, i prefer it that way, nothing to concentrate on except my trucks, i take my wife and son down the beach for a bash every weekend, they dont join me, they go in the arcades. But for 30 minutes a week i find stress dissapates, nothing bothers me, the only important thing to me is landing those airs, its a great feeling, its just me, the sea and the dunes and the beautiful view of my truck flying through the air it just doesnt get any better.
  17. Your right, my revos are hugely upgraded but still shredd diffs. Apart from bearings in the steering posts the truggy is pretty much spot on out of the box. I am in Cardiff by the way.
  18. Hi both, i did start a little war there to be fair by pasting a copy of my email about the crap diffs to traxxas in the forum to encourage folk to do the same. The mods are so high and mighty, i had been a poster there for years with no prior infractions but because i dared to compare their diffs to old tin foil and their plastics to old Fererro Rocher boxes they got all snotty on me. Lol. Go figure I was a believer that what the revo lacked in strengh it made up for in handling, was i wrong again, the truggy again is far superior. So long traxxas and your nazi mods, hello msuk and hopefully a less biased crowd. Big fan of modelsport by the way, been using the online site for spares for many years.
  19. Hi all, first post, i have always been a traxxas man, i have a picco revo, erbe, Merv, n4tec and after a guts full of crap diffs and shafts i find myself with brushless truggy flux. I cant believe the superior build quality from hpi, traxxas kit is rubbish in comparison. I got banned from the traxxas forum for daring to complain about fitting my 6th diff in 6 months, i think i have converted to hpi. No point to this thread really apart from to say hi.
