  1. Nito, can i just ask you a question buddy, the hpi esc you are using, does it have programable drag brakes ??
  2. Nice, a proper landy build I really like the dick cepeck tyres on there, they really suit it, think its time i changee my tyres
  3. I just think its TAX. Tax in this country is a joke, complete frikin joke. We have hardly any industry left, we import lots of things, how many times is a item taxed before we even receive it? Firstly theres import tax, then when the importer sells it to a shop, tax is paid again, then the shop sells it to you, tax is added again. Thats at least three lots tax paid before you even receive your item, its a complete joke and its one of the things i hate about this country and i hate it with passion, im sorry but if i can order from abroad and pay no tax i will, but even doing that now is out of the question, even if i bought a second hand item in the us, say a nice old collectable tamiya, i bet i would end up paying duty on it ??? On a second hand item ?? Its a conplete freaking joke and in my honest opinion i pay enough tax as it is, i pay thousands a year out of my earnings just in tax, and thats before ive even bought anything such as fuel, things for my house, car tax etc etc etc. How this country is surviving at all at the way its run is beyond me, it cant carry on, the bubble will well and truely burst sooner or later. TAX and the goverment are quite simply killing this country.
  4. Looks like something you would see in asda just before christmas.
  5. Nice, finaly arrived Yes biggaz is right, the props need changing as soon as poss really, i run junfac carbon steel on mine, there super tough, bearings will be fine though, as will the hardware, there much better quality now than rc4wd of old, ive had gelande 2 now 13 months and ive not had a single failure. Its really just the prop shafts that need changing, then you will have a tough, capable scale truck Looking forward to seing it completed
  6. Just thinking, something i forgot, did any of you chaps get a full spare gear set inc in the box ?? Just thought i would ask as i did ?? Wondering, was a mistake or not, bonus if it was a mistake lol On the issue of driving our bruisers, well im leaving mine as is with stock can and simple tamiya esc, these things in 3rd gear shift along nicely and to be honest in 3rd it can get quite hairy, there certainly not designed to handle great thats for sure, i have no dout the the chassis and box will withstand a mild brushless system but the shell wont last 5 mins as it will be on its roof alot sends a cold shiver down my spine at even the thought of trashing such a work of art A bruiser is certainly not the most capable crawler either, it can be made to climb and crawl well with some rc4wd tyres or simlar, softer red leafs or delrin jobies, but for me a bruiser is about just having a little run round every now and then, nothing to serious just a little soft play that will put a massive smile on my mush as it hops and bounces around, if a crawler is what you want then a ascender or a scx10 is far more capable than this will ever be, they just dont hold that nostagia.
  7. I had a twister quattro-x, sold it after i received a blade 350qx, the twister is a good quad but its very tame compared to a blade 350, i honestly dont see the point in dji phantom, to much money imo when a blade 350 is half the price. I have lined the inside of my blade with copper tape, just to help with any gopro interferance, ive fitted a body wrap, cnc prop converters so i can run pretty much any props and finaly carbon blades, its super agile with gps off and super stable with gps on in trainer mode, its the best quad available imo in a rtf package.
  8. The line on your pic where the bonnet line meets the top of the grill
  9. 72.5 inside chassis, 86 outside is correct, from top of the grill to the bumper i measure 55mm exactly, but im running a arb bumber ?? Should be the same though as lines up with bottom of the shell, hope that helps.
  10. The m-troniks tio crawler esc i would say no, its limit is 35t and in my experiance does not like being on that limit unless a bec is fitted, i think a 540 silver can is 27/28 turn, i think, the speky servo is fine but you only need a very basic servo to shift the gears. Now as i have found you dont need a 4 channel radio to run the bruiser, any 3 channel will do as long as it has a 3 position aux switch, so that opens up your choice massively, using a stick radio on a old hilft 3 speed i found to be a bit hit and miss with the gear changes unless a shift gator was used, im using a dx4s wheel radio, gearchange is on the 3rd channel, 3 position for each gear, it works lovely and smooth, so yeah any 3 channel will do or a dx4c ?? If you then want to run lights from your 4th channel you can. Most 3 channel wheel radio's have a 3 position aux switch, normaly electronic unlike a plane heli radio where a toggle switch is used, even a 40 quid flysky has a 3 position 3rd channel
  11. Well heres where i am up to, just fitted the teu-104 in and set it up to my dx4s switch in the correct place now so i dont have to remove the body ready for spray I also had this arrive this morning my next build, i could not resist, comes with full ball races and a black sport tunned motor all for
  12. I think this might just be my first mx rc bike looks awesome.
  13. Damm, just reading the teu-104 instructions it does indeed say low voltage cut off is set at factory for LF batteries place i bought it from on ebay said lipo cut off lying git lol, its no big deal i have a few tiny lipo buzzers i can use, main thing for me was the switch size.
  14. Use that esc and buy a lipo low volt buzzer of ebay for like 2 quid, much cheaper than a new esc
  15. Yes nito, i thought keeping it all tamiya would be nice, the esc i went for is teu-104bk, it has lipo cut off but not waterproof but i dont intend on running this in water, i have my gelande 2 and ascender for that the other reason i chose this esc is the power switch size, its large and fits into the bruisers radio tray nicely, the switch then pops through the rear of the truck bed, it just keeps it looking tidy and i dont have to remove the body to switch it on and off, funny the 104 esc i have on order has just turned up litraly as im typing lol, ill get it swapped over today from my traxxas xl5 i have in there, also just waiting on another tamiya to arrive ill update my post when it comes.
  16. Ahh gearbox done sounds like your really enjoying the build. Yeah i looked at that exact esc, it seems like a cracker for the money, i to like hpi electrics, although on mine i opted for the tam teu104 esc, deans extension lead
  17. Ive really enjoyed building mine, i to had the steering knuckle issue rubbing, i just filled the axle down slightly, inspecting the end of axle i could see a raised mold knub, so i just filled it down untill smooth Gearbox is pretty straight forward, plenty of grease in there, use grease on the 2 little balls that sit into the shift lever, to help hold them in place as you slide the lot into the gearbox case i also smoothed down the plastic C peices that sit into the shifters, just so they ran smooth on the shift rings, im well impressed with it though and how smooth it shifts gear, a testiment to its superb desighn even all those years ago, smoother than any hilift 3 speed ive had. Good thread as well buddy, nice well detailed build thread, top job. What set up are going for battery wise, and which esc are you using?
  18. I must admit, i found the gearbox to be a nice build, its silky smooth as well, im impressed with it tbh i slapped lots n lots of grease in there, make sure the plastic c-clip things that fit into the shifter plates are free and smooth, i had to file mine down slightly for them to be smooth, my dx4s works a treat with it, clicks into each gear lovely and smooth each time, and really only a 3 channel set up is needed for the full gear change function to work, you just need a 3 position aux switch
  19. Not sure what kind of stickers bud, just the stock tamiya midnight pumpkin decals, i laqured over them and they just went all crinkly, original issue decals as well not re-re ones if thats any help.
  20. Theres a real one of these lives near me around the corner, its white and sounds blooming fantastic, its also mahoosive being american, nice detail on the shell though, although i prefer the original challenger
  21. I did the that trick a few years ago, applied the decals and then laqured over the top of them, it went horribly wrong lol. It made all the decals go wrinkly and crinkly, on my prize midnight pumpkin looked a right mess, still to this day i dont know what went wrong.
  22. Nice following this to, ive always fancied poping a lux body on a dingo i think the wider axles of a scx 10 look ace under a lux shell the baja claw are a wise choice to, the ssd rims are nice also, i have a set in silver on my ascender, cracking wheel. I bet this is going to look the nuts when finished.
