  1. I recently did the most stupid thing ever (well second most after getting into RC cars) - I bought a used Onroad car on Ebay. The car is a TS4N - Im not even sure what version it is but it has a .12 engine 2 speed & battle scars! It was a bit of a bargain at
  2. well this makes me wish I had held of getting my TT02 now
  3. This looks REALLY interesting I would love to see it finished. keep us posted on this

    TT02 R

Just as a little update on my TT02... yeah the brushless kit has made it undrivable there is so much power it just donuts... Im also quite sure even with the budget setup I have it would beat my Xray 808 with a novarossi R10 its crazy!!

    TT02 R

I bought a TT02 - R & after finding the silvercan to be a little...crap I have upgraded the following: Race Bearings Aluminium Drive Shaft Oil Filled Shocks Etronix 13.5T Brushless & ESC Overlander 3250 2c Lipo all in all its cost around 300 which is alot for a TT02 but it should be fast!! In hindsight looking at the features on the XV01 I wish I had gone for that, the TT02 is very open and since I am wanting to use it multisurface it will need alot of cleaning!!
  6. Interesting, what top speed will you be looking at??
  7. Best replacement for the pullstart would be to get some ergal engine mounts for it and buy a starterbox... No more blistered fingers As for mine so far; Hpi trophy fuel tank (took some drilling) Shock socks (keep grit out of the shocks on loose dirt/ gravel). Cleaned out diffs and replaced grease with diff oil. Reoiled shocks (50wt/45) Stainless steel screwset Not alot really but I would replace fuel tank ASAP as its a case of when it will break not if on the s2
  8. Hi, as the title says I am looking for my first electric buggy/truggy, not too bothered which. its actually for my girlfriend who seems to like abusing my RC but HATES all the tinkering I do with my nitro. Ideally I would like something strong, cheap to buy, plentyful supply of parts, and that isnt too quick so she can learn how to control it properly and stop hitting other buggys on the track!, also the track we run on is very loose dirt type surface with some big jumps in. it was designed for 1/8 buggys my EB4 easily gets 5-6 feet on them, so I would need something that can hold its own in this environment. & my budget is "as cheap as is possible" (yes I am rather specific on this any ideas would be very welcome thanks Matt
  9. If I am wanting to sell anything and don't have an idea on price, I checkout fleebay and use that as a ballpark.
  10. Interesting, I might try using the original mounting on my s2.5 using some fuel line top & bottom, see if it lasts
  11. The mugen mbx5 & X-ray xb8 tanks will fit apparently. The xb8 is hard to come by and the mbx5 is getting rarer In the uk. Tbh if you can make a tank fit, then make it Another point to think about is the mounting. The 2.5 mounting is really poor and you might fid that with mounts from the s3 which are much better, your normal s2 tank would last longer.
  12. I'll second that, fragile fuel tank, 1/2 a lap of the local track and it went, the guys there were saying problem doesn't look to be the tank itself but the mounting , it's basically a long screw some fuel pipe and a standard 5.5mm bolt on the s2.5 pro, I am upgrading the tank and mounting to a mugen mbx5 although has to come from USA so will take a few weeks Also found the hyper 7 tanks fit with some "gentile persuasion" and cable ties not an ideal fix thoigh as my exhaust was melting it!
  13. Make it a DRS system and link it to your throttle... Would look awesome
  14. If you are 100% sure it's not the controller next thing to do is work from the cheapest option up.... I assume you have a 27/40mhz radio set so check crystals / batteries in the system. Then battery box, the servos (I doubt 2 would fail but ya never know) reciever itself (at this point probs cheaper to buy a new radio set ansmann do a 2.4ghz set for
  15. Gave it a quick look and it was filthy in there! all working now though thanks to a soak in some turps and a bit of wd40 I do have a problem now though and thats the fuel tank.. its absolutly had it! the chaps down at my local track said Thunder tigers were well known for having less than reliable fuel tanks so I have a dilemma.. do I get a replacement TT tank which could go the way of the first (it took about 6 tanks of fuel for it to die) or should I look at another models tank which can be persuaded to fit... I would like to opt for the latter so was wondering if there are any suitable replacements out there that wont break in 2. thanks Matt
  16. I believe the radio gear is the ace 2.4ghz system that thundertiger supply with most of their rtrs It does come with a built in failsafe in the reciever (the little red button) for instructions on it I would check the manual
  17. That's a good idea on the pull start... Give it a try although it seemed to behave itself later in the day so dunno what's up with it... Since its all apart for a clean/maintainence/bodging the fuel tank back together session ill have a look at it take it out, might be something silly like dirt etc in there I won't know until I get round to it (sometime over the weekend).
  18. Yeah I know... I need to strip it down and give it a poke... I'm hoping that water didnt get in but I didn't see the puddle till it was too late I wonder if modelsport will take it back... I have the recept
  19. I would of thought the brake settings could play a part in this too? Does it run fine when it's up to speed if you let go of the throttle?
  20. Cheers ill give it a go, although it is in bits now after a run out last night... Needs a new fuel tank(I have no idea how it broke in 2 but it did!) couple of bent screws, also diffs have standard rubbish in them so. Putting 7,7,5 in them to keep them running for a little while 1 way bearing went on the pull start, All needs a good clean oh yeah and the engine got flooded..... with water... Fingers crossed I can fix it all with plasters and some calpol! I am a little worried that all this happened in 1 tank of fuel... But I was really giving it a good beating and the whole water in the engine thing is all my fault anyway for being a rubbish driver. But on the plus side we got some good pics of it
  21. Depends what you want to use it for. From what I have seen the firestorm is a tough brute. I had the precursor to this, the rush evo back in the day and it was the most fun I have ever had, faster than friends hyper 7's (this was about 8 years ago mind) and cheap to repair when the trees jumped out of no where (or the car went for a walkabout ). From what I hear the firestorm is even better... Besides of you only want it to mess about with at the park 2WD has fewer parts so fewer things to go wrong than a 4wd!
  22. I had the same problem... just got out the scissors... also if you had put the optional clear guard on that comes with it TAKE IT OFF!!
  23. I bought the EB4 S2 and its had quite a bit of punishment already and nothing (hits head) has broken yet. its been a few years since i played with a nitro so I was a little crap tuning it, but got there in the end and its fast enough for me to play with and cheap enough to get smashed about... going to go down to my local track soon with it and get laughed at im sure but if you like thundertigers.. for the price I cant say a bad word about it (also my local shop stocks these things and loads of spares ;D)
