  1. Yes it was the piston ring that was at fault after weeks of messing about with everything else
  2. The bottom end is nice and free so don't really understand what's happened i was only running it in aswell
  3. I bought a piston ring a few days ago, fitted it yesterday and took the yama out today just to run in the engine but 25 mins later there was a clunk as the engine died. I stripped the head off the engine to find that both the piston and cylinder head has deep marks. Could you suggest anything that could have happened, the piston ring is still in the correct position so... Thanks Ryan
  4. I just finished stripping the head of the engine and found no faults from what I can see, no cracks in head all gaskets good Tec no unusual wear to be seen so now I'm all outta ideas. Help please
  5. Still the bloody same, zero power. Any body have a spare working engine to sell? If not I'm gonna have to buy a new one
  6. Ah i see and yes checked and also manually worked the throttle on the carb as well just to make sure.7 Thanks

  8. It's my birthday today so got a little cash, should i just buy an engine and have done with it?
  9. still no good, i'm all out of ideas now and totally stuck. Can anyone please shed some light? so annoying! here's another vid of the car running
  10. I've just took the carb off also that adapter under the carb, one of the bolts that hold this down was loose but the other was tight so maybe still not found the problem. Anyway but it all back together using sealant on every gasket/ surface and test it tomorrow with a video to follow. Thanks again for the reply's.
  11. nut would the engine still rev fully just no drive, i have drive but not full revs if you know what i mean. I'll get a vid when i take it out yet again tomorrow
  12. I just don't understand brand new carb, plug so it must be air leak arrrrrggg doing my ****ing head in now! it runs on the bench although the revs are delayed to get to full revs but once under load there's just no power. tut tut
  13. Just done all the above. took the tank out including pipes/filter used compressor to blow them through also drilled a breather hole in the cap and still no joy! Help
  14. That's why i strictly use the car in open areas only as if theres a tree or lamppost in sight i'll hit it lol

  18. It doesn't have a tank breather so do people drill a hole in the fuel cap? the car is just over a week old and gone through 5 tanks but will double check every thing you say tomorrow.

  20. Been out with the car again and still no look. It did the same thing with the old carb and now with a brand new different make carb so it has to be some thing else other that L H settings. anybody?
  21. nope not touched it, was fine last week though could there be a problem with the coil?
