  1. If anyone is looking for a Carnage secondhand I am selling mine. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/173317-ftx-carnage-with-high-spec-brushless-set-up-and-24/
  2. Selling my FTX Carnage truggy with full electrics. It started out as a brushed 27meg RTR but I have replaced it with a Hobbywing Xerun v2 ESC and LRP 10.5 brushless motor. It has a Hobbyking metal geared servo and hi torque servo saver. It also comes with a maverick 2.4 pistol radio and receiver. It has a external BEC fitted as the one on the ESC doesn't work. Ok the truggy it self is in good condition and is actually quite fast. It has the usual scratches and scraps but overall is in good condition apart from the body shell that's a bit tatty but tyres are all still good. It's actually a really nice truck and very strong but I'm selling as got to many cars now and don't use it anymore. I you want I can throw in a couple of 1800 nihm packs making it RTR. Looking for offers around
  3. I have trimmed down my inserts of my stock tyres and am very happy with them still. With my 1300 2s lipo I get about 50mins run time. I also think the kit motor is fine with the kit ESC. I have a full brushless system I could put in but haven't seen the point yet tbh. These are really good kits for the money IMO.
  4. Balancing all though not needed every charge it is deffinatlly needed say every other charge and is good practise to do every time in my optioning. I have left a battery in balanced for a few charges as a test before and it took ages to balance after.
  5. For stock brushed motor 25c is fine. The only time you would need more than that would be hi surge situations. With these rock crawlers and the way they are geared there shouldn't be a need for a high discharge rated lipo. I run 40c with 10.5 boosted ESC and motor in my touring car in its still plenty.
  6. Ah sorry about that mate. Wasn't sure so thought it was worth checking lol. As far as memory though lipos don't suffer with that problem.
  7. You should never run lipo flat. I wouldn't take it below 3v per cell so a 2s lipo shouldn't go below 6v max. If you drop below this the battery will be ruined. If you have low voltage cut of on your ESC then set it to the correct voltage. You can charge them at any state of charge and straight after use if you want just don't drop below 3v per cell.
  8. I think there is something wrong if your only getting 25mts with 27mg as you should get out of sight with it. If you can afford it I would go for 2.4 just for convenience and range wise you will still get out of sight. In flying / FPV set ups you would go for the lowest freq your allowed for max range. In road use they should all give plenty of range. If your planing on going 2.4 I use the flysky system and its really good with receivers only costing
  9. I wouldn't change to 2.4 for range gain as the higher the frequency the more it is effected by obstacles. I use 5.8 for FPV and its way more susceptible to interference from obstacles than say 400mg. 2.4 is great though if you don't want to have to muck around with crystals. I will always use 2.4 but had better range on 27 and 40 mg. Saying that 2.4 still goes way past what I can actually see and control.
  10. I learned after the first let down with Tamiya connectors ten years ago. Once it happens you will never switch back. Don't understand why company's still fit them to products.
  11. Have to say iv had my Carnage for few months now and its way stronger than the HPI Bullet I had and over half the price. Running hobbywing V2 with lrp10.5 and 5000 2s lipo. On a kit spur and 20t pinion I'm getting plenty of speed and 15min run time before motor is hot. Usually race on road so this is great fun. This is one good quality kit for the price.
  12. Looking for a sensored 10.5 to swap for my 17.5 if anyone has anything. Mine is in good condition.
