  1. I like your thread. Has it been quite simple up to now. I am a noob and dont want to screw up the car. Any tips?
  2. Yes i agree. Where are we mate. I am just going to start building my own and you thread is really interesting
  3. About to start drifting and have moved from Buggy racing over to drifting with the legend that is TT01. I have had one made for me by a drifter with 25 years experience so i know i am getting a goodun but this thread is brilliant for me advancing the rig myself. Well done mat and keep them coming. You clearly know your stuff
  4. I like this link. I am about to build my own tt01 so this will be an amazing tool for me. Nice photos as well
  5. Welcome mate. My view comes from a different ball park. I started last year and quickly got hooked on the whole truggy scene. I picked a truggy as my first car as it gives the best area of forgivness but still jumps well. I went for the little known Century uk Brushless truggy from www.centuryuk.co.uk I brought myself two 5000mah 30c lipos and a balance charger Result - a seriously fast car that keeps up pace with the big boys. The parts are cheap from their website and you can even upgrade to alloy parts. Its not a tamiya but it also does not come with that price tag. Best advice start low and make sure that you really like it first. This car comes with a transmitter and does everthing a beginner wants. Put lipos in and you have a seriously kick ass basher. For lipos i would use Vapextech on eBay. eBay has its moments with batteries but this company are well known in the RC world and with hard case lipos at a great price you can not go wrong Hope this helps mate
  6. Hi all I am looking for a buggy that i can race with. I am new to this so only have a Century uk truggy that i am bashing around with and learning the ropes. I know a little about decent makes but i am very aware how expensive this hobby is so i am willing to settle for a second hand model that i can upgrade to the required level for local club racing. I am not interested in any cheap models as i will just have to replace them with a better car later so would rather have a project than a ready to go car. I am looking for a 1/10 electric model that comes with a transmitter. The car needs to be able to go as i am looking to upgrade not completely rebuild. My budget is movable depending on the quality or age of the car. Thankyou
  7. Help!!!!! I am finding it really difficult to find a simple chart that shows me what rate to charge my rc batteries. I have nimh at present. One is 2000mah and the other is 5100mah. I believe that I should charge at 2amps for the 2000 and 5.1 for the 5100. Can someone tell me if I am right. I want to understand the process so I don't buy lipos and blow the dam things up. It's simple stuff for someone with experience but I am lost. Also struggling with discharge rates. Any help would be a massive benefit
  8. This was amazing info and as a complete novice to the whole rc game this was exactly what I needed to read. Thanks so much for spending so much time putting it together.
  9. Hi there bud I have just brought a brushless century uk truggy. I brought a second hand one for
  10. Thanks for yours comments They have helped a lot I think I will stick to NiMH batteries for now until I get my head round lipos
  11. Hi I brought a brushless century uk truggy. It was a lot cheaper than the big names but out plays my mates ae truggy. Go for that one for a starter. Loads of spare parts on the century website and cheap as well
  12. I have recently got into the car game and to save money I brought myself a century uk brushless truggy second hand. The car is awesome and major fast. Considering it is not a fancy make I am very impressed. That is where it ends as the battery and charger it's was supplied with are crap. On a full 8 hr charge on the 2000 NiMH battery I barely get 10 minutes use. Can anyone suggest a affordable lipo or NiMH battery and charger to get the best out of this car
  13. I am looking for a good value 1/8 off roader. I am new to this forum and hobby. If truth be known I am a photographer who has stumbled into this. My friend and neighbour is into RC in a big way and has nudged me into it. I am at present interested in photographing of the cars and racing so don't want to go to silly and spend a fortune on a new toy until I know I like it and want to stick to it. Does anyone have anything that would suit me at this time? The reason for the scale size is that my mate has a 1/8 and races at the weekend. I want to go to his meets with him so would require the same size. Would consider different sizes for the right price if just to practice and photograph.
