  1. i've done some clearing out and found these, i was kindly donated these by @RC4WD fan last year for my D90 build, i no longer have the D90, so returning the favour, and im offering these up for anyone with an rc4wd d90, or any scale build you have that these will fit, ive spoke to rc4wd fan (albeit some time ago lol) and hes happy for me to pass them along. Their not expensive items, but keeping with community spirit, please only ask for them if you need them, im happy to cover uk postage as @RC4WD fan did for me.
  2. does anyone have any experience of this motor, ive bought one for my new losi 8ight 4.0 build. As the norm, im asking for opinions after ive bought one lol, but to be fair the forum was down and i was on rcmart with an itchy buying finger, not a lot on youtube, but what i could find seems positive, it will be paired to a hobbywing ESC WP-8BL150.
  3. so, thats me back on the RC wagon, Losi 8ight 4.0 kit on its way :D

This is true... Just didn't expect it to be glacial :P on a serious note, you made a great choice and will end up with a beast of a buggy.

  4. Thanks i shall give it a look, and thanks to everyone else for suggestions
  5. hey guys, been a while sold all my RC gear early 2016, all im left with is a few scale parts and a flysky tx/rx new in the box and a lipo charger. Decided to dip a toe back in the water and go for a losi 8ight 4.0-E kit, wanted a bit of a basher, was considering the vorza, but, considering the price, decided to go for the losi kit (looking for something readily availible) i cant seem to find much about the losi kit with reguards to playing around and bashing, i understand its a fairly race oriented bit of kit, but im struggling to find info about a casual / bashing setup. So onto my real question, i know its mainly down to a personal choice, but im looking at diff oils. Mostly running on flat grass and your typical wooded terrain, hard packed mud and leafs. Do i need a thicker fluid for bashing?, anything special i need to know about the 8ight 4.0 diffs?, every thread i read makes me think something different, looking for anyones experience really, got a few credits on freeprawn from my baja days, so looking to use them up. cheers chaps, if the forum is up long enough, look forward to your input and no doubt Dan will read this, yes, im still using firefox
  6. so after an 8 month hiatus, im returning back to the darkside :-), overclocking cpus has me bored, got an 'itch' for a vorza, but oho keeps telling me NO lol, im not looking for a kit builld, just something out of the box 'rtr', got my eyes on either a losi mini 8ight, the hpi trophy buggy, or the losi 8ight-E rtr.

  7. I know the early ones used to suffer from seal failure around air tank and not hold pressure, but it was an easy fix, other than that i think they were overall a fairly well received rifle, get the seals replaced in the service and you should be golden :-)
  8. so, after selling some goods on fleabay, i check my paypal acount to find all the funds are pending, apparently, if there are no issues with my goods, i will receive the funds in 21 days, paypal go on further to explain this helps create a safe selling environment, i could ubderstand if my account was new, but ive been using ebay for about 8 years, and ive got 100% feedback out of over 400 transactions, anyone else has this happen recently? is it a new thing thats been introduced or just a random event?

i think the fact i still technically 'owe' them 700 odd quid as the money is yet to be taken from my account, the 250 odd quid coming in was held 'just incase' i decided not to pay, i keep meaning to turn the pay after delivery option off, but i always forget, infact i still havnt done it now :D

  9. Hi guys, Decided to sell my rc4wd, i built it last month, but due to work, family, other hobbies and life in general, i just havnt used it, as you can see from the pictures its seen very little use, apart from a few indoor homemade scale courses made out of cushions, and a run up and down the garden, its sat on a shelf gathering dust. The truck itself is absolutely mint, it will come with a hobbywing quicrun 1060 esc, powerHD 20kg servo, and an hpi 35t motor along with a flysky gtb3 compatible rx. (no tx, im keeping that). it also will come with a few scale accessories such as a sump guard, brand new in packet rc4wd panhard link, a set of spare tyres (currently fitted), including a matching 5th tyre to mount to the bonnet for a scale look, complete with mounting kit, and a couple of rear shackles. The original tyres and wheels are included and have never been used the body is perfect, and will come with all the original parts the original kit did, all unused and new in the box, includes stickers, instructions and all original boxes. £335 delivered, fees included
  10. Gelande 2 D90 kit all built and fully operational, really enjoyed the build, spent some cracking time with the kids driving it over a home made crawling course :-)

If my ebay goes to plan I'm going to flip a coin on getting the mini glande I'm not sure yet tho. All I know right now is it's cutie build from all metal and my youngest would love it with my eldest using the scx10.

Ofcourse I'll enjoy them for the tinkering but going slow isn't for me really but I love messing about with them.

Also a condition of the coin flip will be price I think around 200 right now.  Probably be in for a shock tho.

  12. its not bad considering the bits i bought, its a bit rough around the edges, but its totally useable, i was hitting 10p sized spinners @ 40 yards earlier today just using the screen to aim, pretty pointless for daytime shooting, but for shooting at night it performs just as well as the 'proper' 400+ odd quid night time setups. i doubt i will ever really use it for shooting, just one of those things i saw and fancied having a crack at it, my kids use it all the time for playing in the dark, and looking at stuff in the garden when its dark, so was worth it, even if its just to keep them quiet
  13. have been playing around making my own 'home brew' night vision lately, its a bit crude looking, but functional. A cheap cctv nightvision lense, a cheap screen from ebay and a few cables and some plumbers pipe, an ir torch and a battery and an old scope mount, cost me no more £70, and i can see far beyond the rifles capabilities, and its good fun using it as a monster finding camera with my kids ( not attached to the gun lol) needs adjusting in this photo, its since been adjusted and you get a perfect image of what the scope see's on the screen this was plugged into my tv, in the door way of my bedroom, facing out down the hall in total darkness, when using it outside, its just as clear beyond a 100 yards.
  14. Gelande 2 has finally cleared customs after 'awaiting clearance' for the past 14 days, fees paid, so fingers crossed for a tomorrow delivery, although its very doubtful lol.

i did think about it, but its nearly a 100 mile round trip to where its currently sat, so i paid the fee's online as soon as the bill dropped this morning, the trackings updated to 'delivery scheduled' so super optimistically hoping for delivery tomorrow, despite it being a saturday, if not i expect it will be tuesday, just intime for me to have to leave it for a week as im away with work :crying:

That's a shame the depot is so far away, my local Parcelfarce is about 3mins in the car

tracking status has now change to ' prepared for delivery' looking good for a saturday delivery :D

  15. Yeah, thats one of the ones i was looking at, there was also another for a similar price, and the truggy version up for £100 with a 'make an offer' option, typically i didnt add them to my watch list and cant find them anymore, im on the way to work using my phone, i will have a better look when im at the pc. I wasnt sure if they were a potential bargain for a brushless conversion, or there was a reason they're being flogged off relatively cheap.
  16. has anyone done a brushless conversion on these?, seen some rollers come up on ebay recently for peanuts, i assume they have been stripped for spares given the issues with the engines etc, whats the rest of the buggy like?
  17. yeah i was hoping for a bit of a campaign preview, but it was free so cant argue lol. the more i play it, the more i like it, it takes me back to the days of unreal tournament and quake arena
  18. rise of the tomb raider is an awesome game, its well worth it. This weekend ive mostly been raging at the doom open beta trial, its ok for a bit of fun, but mostly forgettable and i wouldnt pay the asking price.
