  1. my god that is a load or rubbish to sort through! mind you - one picture of 6 or 7 brushless motors plus a handful of ESC. If those or half all work ... then you chuck the rest away. a job lot for the determined tinkerer, organizer and sorter that one...!
  2. Why? Planning on invading Milton Keynes?
  3. You need to get some load on it to get meaningful numbers. Spinning wheels on bench is too little. Once up and down the street in road will give more meaningful peak numbers.
  4. ran my S50 brushless today. lost the front CVD on the first 4S pack... then ran 5 and 6S through it rear wheel drive only (centre gearbox so is ok). mental thing. broke body posts again. and shell batered. need to do a cage.

    1/8 Shocks

why do you need them? is it because you have broken something? or because you want to upgrade what is already there?
  6. now that is a monster truck collection. I still maintain the weeny wheels make it look a bit "wacky racer". Please don't tell me it is also running an anti-roll bar.... otherwise you will have to banish yourself forthwith from monster truck ownership... Need to fix my brushless mta. managed to lose a drive pin from the outdrive from gearbox. hit 60kph. and that was quick enough. hit that on 4 or 5 S. 6S was useless. couldn't keep the front down. 4 and 5S fine. 6 and the thoughts go like this... "oh managed a good start this time" "just feather the throttle" "yup, ease it in gently. picking up speed. definitely manage full throttle this time" "is it going quick enough to try it? yes it is... ok. right here goes..." ... split second... "bugger. and there goes a wheel." - as it cartwheels away across the grass.
  7. long way north then. my brother-in-law lives in West Linton, just south of Edinburgh. which is basically fully of English refuges, and not quite really Scotland... My feeble efforts, short, no music
  8. nice first attempt. Where in the highlands? Can't really be Scotland can it? sun is shining and I see blue sky...
  9. Please tell me you are going to put some proper boots on it. It looks... erm... somehow it just looks insulted wearing those wee skinny tyres. Like it's walking on tip toes.. or perhaps 4 space saver tyres while it waits for its PROPER tyres to get back from the shop... as an aside... had 60kph out of my S50 (on the stock tyres) - and that was plenty quick... things started breaking.
  10. Did you get up to the top hill? Probably the nest bit of it. Good place for a plane too I think
  11. Probably a bit late now.. But it is off symondshyde lane, off coopers green lane between St.Albans and Selwyn garden city. Did you find it in the end? Weather was far too good for RC today . went out on the bike instead.
  12. yes maybe. let me know what time you plan to go there. I went there on Saturday. it is a bit wet at the bottom. bit too wet for me to do the jumps. top is dry enough though.
  13. to get back on topic.... bashed at quarry first time with mta brushless.. and first time slow mo editing. Need to sort out the braking! video.
  14. I know... but why do i want to buy something when i can try and mod?! ...# # something like hyper pbs, mugen etc could work. trouble is they need a shorter upper arm to fit. i wonder if just making an upper arm using 10mm nylon rod would work
  15. true. and the problem I have had with them is not the bearings. it is the pillow balls pulling out of the knuckle. or the track rod ends popping off the thing-a-ma-jig. track rod ends popping off can be sorted with a large washer. pillow balls pulling out? not sure. unless there is some way of bracing the knuclkes themselves.. I might just have to carry spares. and resign myself to that being the part of the truck that breaks. they are
  16. and my first slow mo. well there are plenty of them but they need editing. this is about the only short watchable slow mo one. 4 cell is ok. 5 and 6 cell is a struggle to keep the front down. that is with the soft stock blue springs as well. so there is plenty of "give" in the rear suspension.
  17. and another one. stuggling to keep the front down. I'm trying to drive up the hill at pace, not just wheelie everywhere. all the time struggling to get the right throttle. pull trigger too happily and its on the wheelie bar or roof.
  18. gpm make ali knuckles. restricts you to 12 outer, 6 inner diameter bearings and hence 6mm stub axles. RPM knuckles can be bored out to take a 16x8 bearing to allow 8mm axles.
  19. too much video. will need editing. loaded some raw footage though.
  20. I know that the knuckles are a weak point. My nitro ones have pulled the pillow balls out many a time. not sure what to do about it if anything. That was the fourth pack today and a pretty major cart wheel. options are to go RPM... or to try and find another pillow ball knuckle that will fit, and possibly allow better bearings and 8mm axle. there is a mod for an ST-1 knuckle that allows 8mm stub axles. seems a lot of work though.
  21. just measured amps. and then just broke it. 130A and 2500 watts running 5S. and managed to break a rear wheel hub - both pillow balls pulled out after a cart wheel at speed. yes managed to break it on flat ground rather than quarry. ok it was a full speed cartwheel. think found a weak spot though
  22. Just taken this out to the quarry first proper stretch of its legs. on 4, 5 and 6S 6S is insane. Video downloading now... no chance to jump it though - the bottom of the pit is too wet.
  23. No, not quite right. He's carrying it on the shoulder. Bench no good for that... Perhaps 4 sets of 15 clean and press every morning using the Baja not bar/weights.? For added effectiveness alternate engine side between left / right arm? A month of that and it will start to feel lighter...
  24. I had forgotten about that one. And this is electric as well. Hmmm . more time in gym to make Baja feel lighter?
