  1. Finally got my Losi running so I had an hour up there this lunchtime. The top of the quarry (where the big flat bit is just past the top of the hill climb) was busy with dumper trucks - no idea what was going on but there are some new piles of dirt around. I was testing the car on the flat bit when they all came up from the far side led by some sort of foreman. He saw me running the car but didn't say anything. Not sure if this is usual??? Had a few goes at the hill climb and got to within a couple of foot of the top. It's definately do-able. Had a bit of a panic about the car flipping at the lip and bottled it. Soon ...
  2. The bits for my Losi arrived today so if I can get the thing working again in time then I'm hoping to come along this week. The more snow the better
  3. it's a 1/10 truggy mate. The motor for my 8ight T should arrive in a few days then I'll be giving that a try. The hyper had real problems with the terrain - it was bouncing around all over the place. I had similar problems at another quarry I took it to, which is why I got the Losi as a friends 1/8 truggy seems to handle this sort of terrain with a bit more style. That's the plan, anyway!
  4. Is this it? You can see my hyper on it's way down on the left. On a couple of runs I got a a metre or so higher than where the hyper is in the photo but there's a little ridge a couple of metres down from the top that I couldn't get past. Tricky! Most of the time the car just when bouncing off to the left or right - perhaps need to sort out my suspension. I was running 2S batts - would have tried 3S but, having watched my little car come cartwheeling down that hill several times without any problems, I managed to break a steering knuckle by hitting an invisible rock when it was just going along on the flat :/ Next time I'll run 3S first! Had another wander about - plenty of bashing places. Needs a little track somewhere! Might take a shovel next time
  5. Sounds good! I'm going up in the morning for a quick play so I'll have a scout about for this enormous hill I'll be taking my hyper tt as I'm waiting on some parts for my Losi truggy. Do you guys park over the road from the woods or is there another place?
  6. Hey mate I'm up for that at some point soon. I've only been up there the once for a quick play but it looks awesome. Do you guys just wander about or is there a specific bit that's best for bashing?
  7. I'm near Tamworth. Tamworth firestorm crew, represent!
  8. I've just bought a Hobbywing program card for car ESC (software version 2) for mine - seems to work ok. I'm not sure if I can post links here but if you search eBay for "program Card for EZRUN RC Brushless Electric Speed Controller ESC" you should find what you need. Hope that helps.
  9. Hi guys, I though it was time I said hello as I've been lurking on the forum for a while now, feeding my newly discovered RC habit I've been into RC for about 2 months after a mate lent me his Royal Flash. Became instantly hooked and like all good red-blooded males (and females!) I went straight out and spent far too much money on a Firestorm flux for me and a Maverick for my son. Things being what they are, that wasn't enough and then it was tools, accessories, hop-ups etc. Batteries .... batteries everywhere! A few weeks ago I bought a hyper tt-e which I've just finished kitting out with electrics. I've just spent the last hour in the snow with it, laughing like a 4 year old child on a sugar rush. I'm really loving the hobby and looking forward to getting myself to somewhere other than the garden to play with my little collection of brushless fun. I did take my Firestorm down the local park, having gathered my family and several local children to "witness the awesome speed of brushless". However just as I shouted Stand Back (waving the children away from the potential lethal speed machine in front of me) and pulled the trigger, in a moment of unbridled spitefullness the flipping ESC bleeped angrily at me then vomited black smoke everywhere. The children laughed at me and my son cried. Nice. Hats off to Modelsport / HPI for a quick replacement! Anyway ... back to the snow! Cheers
