    HPI : Torque is cheap.
  3. Plus another one too. I check after every pack as the axles WILL DEFINITELY snap over big jumps if they come loose. A few pages back I wrote a list of all the things to check over before your first run if you're interested.
  4. Thanks mate! Appreciate that I use Go Pro cineform if I need to chop the clips up if they are too long and need highlights out and then to do the actual edit I just use Windows Movie Maker. This is a pretty basic editor but if you use a few tricks it's a powerful tool that's reliable and free! Make sure you have it up to date as possible - Microsoft still support it with updates. I hope you've got a powerful PC by the way. The hero 3 HD footage can bring an average set up to it's knees with all the frames. Any more help mate feel free to drop me a PM and I'd be happy to help you out.
  5. I got around 40mph on stock gearing on an airfield surface and to be honest with you that was enough! I'd rather have more torque than top speed any day of the week. If something this big gets above 35 they are pretty hard to stop! Not to mention temps in the heat of this summer would probably be an issue also
  6. No pal, Just gone for the 13T RW racing pinion that's been recommended by a few members
  7. Welcome to the fold My new pinion just turned up - going to fit it and run this week! Will report back on my findings

  10. I think the integy rebounds are no better if not slightly worse than that standards - just look slightly nicer and perform slightly better before they emtpy them selves. The stocks are great but also leak a bit of oil over bigger jumps. HPI do the anodized ones but they are not threaded bodies.
  11. FYI everyone, the part number for the pinion : RW1000-13 RW 1.0 Module Pinion 13 teeth - For 5MM Shaft
  12. Yeah I had a look for one - Can't find one anywhere with the correct bore and pitch. It's the 1 MOD 13t. I think my last tree to bark up is Castle Creations pinion ... but I'm not exactly holding my breath. EDIT : found the RW racing pinion to fit on Modelsport
  13. Also ran mine this weekend after the rebuild saga. With the central diff now full of 500k goop it's laying down drifts so much better! On high grip it power slides away under torque and on a very loose surface you can actually hold a drift for as long as you desire now. Definitely worth the wrench time! However! The integy pinion gave up. Back to the drawing board on the pinion front! The integy turnbuckles I got are a bit naff. Look great but where the pillow balls sit it's held by a metal spacer - which gave up on one of them already. Back to the plastic standards then! Also the Integy steering crank got installed - the standard setting on this doesn't allow you to turn - the servo saver kicks in. Even if you tighten this up all the way the spring clearly isn't as strong as the standard servo savers. With that in mind I just did a straight swap on the springs and set the tension, seems to be working well!
  14. So she's rebuilt with the upgrades added, not recommending the integy camber links, the balls broke free under minimal stress! Also the servo saver is set super loose as standard - need to see if I can tighten it up but currently the spring is soaking up any and all turning. Nice bit of kit though! I have put 500k diff oil in the central diff, gave it a quick blip on carpet and it wheelied! Will report back when I get time to get the servo saver configured
  15. My parts have arrived for repairs and upgrades - I've just been far too busy to rebuild her! This week I'll find some time though
  16. Oh so faithful. The motor though ... It looks like it already had the hole in the back of the casing but it's pushed further through - I don't see how though. Worrying. Expecting i'll be needing my third replacement motor soon. It's a weird one mate, I've had some truly horrific flips at 40 mph that I thought would snap it in half and it's been fine - the slower knocks seem to cause the damage. Or maybe finish the job!? haha. It's still opened up waiting for the part to arrive so surgery can commence, I'll get some more snaps when the parts turn up. How's yours running? Seem to be enjoying it as much as me!
  17. I guess it's bad luck, It was over a jump with an especially nasty and sudden landing - hit a double really short and stopped it dead at speed, the shaft snapped where one of the pins go through. All the gears and CD is fine! A lot of metal filings in there from the gear wear but it's all got a whole lot of life left yet which is encouraging after the 9 months I've abused this baby!
  18. That actually would have been a great idea. Maybe when I put it back together I can do! It's actually not as bad as it looks, a fair few screws yeah but it popped off nice and easy. I've also got to fit the integy turnbuckles, steering bell crank, harder rear springs and refill the central diff with the 500k oil. This is going to be a bit of a rebuild sesh
  19. Ok so I found an hour last night to open heart surgery the super ... The problem was in the central gear box as suspected - the idler gear shaft gave up! Completey snapped into 2 pieces which explains the loss of drive between the motor and central diff. Part is on order hopefully for the weekend, here it is if you're interested. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-idler-gear-44t-shaft-set/rc-car-products/36675
