  1. Picked it up from eBay for what seemed a reasonable price, thought it looked good. Bit of a bodge getting it all together but it works. Looking forward to running it. I'd like to change the rear lower links to high clearance like on the front but no one sells them. I know I can just fit any link from another kit but my OCD wont let me have miss matching anodised parts. Anyone got an old set kicking around?
  2. When its a Warthog... She's coming along nicely. Just need a dig.
  3. Apart from the vanquish one what other options are there? I've seen one from 3racing(?) but I can't find anywhere in the UK to buy one from. I'm gonna keep the scout as a crawler and upgrade it some more, keeping an eye out for a used SCX for a future scale rig. The scout it coming on nicely and has been great so far...
  4. I think that means the LVC is ON but it knows you have NiMh batteries installed. Have you tried holding down the button until the LVC turns off. The LVC should be off out of the box.
  5. Tough to say yet, I've not been keeping track of time and not had them that long. I'd say 40 minuets of proper thrashing it in the snow (tough in cold for lipo) or an hour and half maybe eeking it round crawling.
  6. I suppose going the scale route I could continue on with the scout as a base. New shocks, chassis and a body would be the start?
  7. I wanted to revive this thread again, there must be some interest in crawlable rocks in the midlands area.....
  8. Just turn it off, you just hold down the button until the light flashes and motor pulses. Same to turn it on again.
  9. I use a lipo checker that shows the indervidual cell voltages, they don't need balancing that often I find. Depends on the quality of the packs. I've found the nano techs to be good quality (I use lots of them in various sizes in my planes). Best thing is on the smaller packs they can be charged at high c rating too, these bigger ones are above the max my charger can pump in though. Takes about an hour and fifteen/half to fully charge one at the 6A my charger can deliver.
  10. So after really enjoying running my scout at Black Rocks yesterday I would like to take rock crawling a bit further. I'm not too sure what direction to go in though. I'd like to give comps a go some day. My choices are... I have already moded my Scout, do I take it further and spend more knowing its never going to become a comp rig. Buy something capable out of the box like the LCC (although I can't find one for sale anywhere, what the deal, do Losi still make them?) Build a MOA (xr10) and commit to spending A LOT. Any advice or suggestions? Ta, Wayne
  11. I run these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=34881 Excellent value for money and last forever.
  12. I know I turned up a bit late but I still enjoyed the drive. Most I've enjoyed my scout yet. Hoping next meeting is warmer. Wayne
  13. Wow. I agree, my scout wouldn't stand a chance on a course like that even with all the mods I've done. Impressive machine, skills and course. Are there any 2.5 sportsman events held in the UK? They sound more appropriate for my level of driving and equipment.
