  1. Caster oil is a natural oil and the particles can be of different sizes. Imagine a bearing with 3 different size balls in it. The bigger ones would do all the work and the smaller ones are there for decoration. With synthetic oils the particles are made to be the same size meaning they are all working together. I use and run all my Nitro engines on Optifuel Race 25% as the fuel works for me and give great performance. But I agree with and do the same as the others in just using the fuel you will running the engine on.
  2. Are these engines the same with a different colour head? I hear that SH make the Losi engines so it would be logical for them to just change the colour, pop their name on it and undercut the cost of the Losi engine as they cut out the middle man.
  3. Longer engine screws installed along with the adapter blocks the SH had on the old mount and she moves! Small amount of rubbing on the fuel tank mount from the clutch bell(think its a 16 tooth, didn't check) that will find its own space 🤣 I do have to adjust the throttle and brake linkage a little more before i run it again as the carb has the throttle connection ball in a different place. I just got it so it kinda worked.
  4. Unfortunately the 454 engine is super stuff and the box won't turn it over. I believe there must be some corrosion or something inside but will need to open her up and give it a look another day. I do have an old Argus .21 engine thats never been started. Anyone found a down side to using a .21 in a truggy?
  5. A little bit of me does want a brushless 1/8 scale truggy or buggy as my mini 8ight-T is super simple and is good fun on 2S (box stock motor). The only thing that it struggles with is grass as the wheels are small and the stock motor is also a tad small for the truggy leaving me feel a little under powered.
  6. @GMballistic not yet. I had an hour in the man cave but for some reason instead of doing the 1 thing that needed on the 8ight-T I chose to faff about trying to get the SH a new clutch and onto my Hyper 7 (old engine has a broken pull start). Then ran into issues there with the pullstart back plate being massive and not lining up properly. There is another thread for that 🤣. Next time I will sort the 8ight-T first. I do have an Argus .21 race engine brand new i was going to put into the 8ight-T but the standard starter box with 1 motor won't turn it over. That will be saved for when the 454 gives up and i will invest in a better box at that time too.
  7. I would need longer screws. I shall grab some tomorrow. That or just go brushless 🤣. Everytime I try something it doesn't work lol.
  8. It might do if I cut a bit off. For some reason there is a 5th hole that goes infront near the clutch bell. I did get the Losi Muggy 2nd hand as a roller many years ago. Also the muggy mount has 2 little aluminium blocks to raise the engine up. Not sure if I did it or if it was like that when I got it. I could custom make some engine mounts if needed
  9. This afternoon I took an SH.28 engine out of my losi Muggy to put into my Hyper 7 because why not? I fitted the new clutch got the engine on the engine mount all happy and everything looks good until I try lining up the engine into the Buggy. For some reason the back plate is massive and sticks out below the engine mount. It wont mount to the chassis 😔. Is there something I am missing like a "big block" engine mount for this available or do I need to modify/make one?
  10. I got this charger for use with my Losi mini 8ight-T but for some reason have misplaced the power cable. I have 2 overlander 2 Cell lipo batteries and a simple overlander lipo balance charger that works OK but would like to make use of the other functions of the B6. Is there a proper charging cable for this or are the random options from Amazon the best option?
  11. The fuel fires up my SH .28 I got in a Losi Muggy (keeps killing clutches) so I know it will start an engine at least lol. Fuel tanks always get emptied out before they get stored and any fuel thats been in a tank gets thrown away. Might need a little flush through or new tubes but the clutch plate being loose is my main issue. Luckily I found a piston stop tool thingy so should be able to get the clutch off to clean and re install ready to test. Think everything else was good when she got put away.
  12. Going to see if I can get this old girl running again (8ight-T 2.0 RTR). Starter box is charged but I know she needs some clutch love before she will move. No harm it making sure the engine still fires up.
  13. Welcome Danny. Good to see people getting into RC. I am myself returning to it after many years of my RC cars sitting in the shed/garage.
  14. Hello all, Its been a few years since I have had my RC cars running. So much so I think most of my RC vehicles are outdated 🤣. I am getting back into the hobby after almost selling all my RC's to a friend because I was sad to see them doing nothing. I have a losi mini 8ight T (My only electric), Hobao Hyper 7, Losi Muggy and Losi 8ight T 2.0. The nitros are all not fully working. Hopefully I will get them all fired up and make some noise. I may convert 1 to brushless but thats more of a side thought than anything right now as I just need 1 working to fully ignite my passion once more.
  15. i will be dusting off my RC's and bashing once more so if anyone is interested let me know!
  16. Could you rotate the carb clockwise just enough so the sleave doesn't rub? also is the disk on the correct side of the diff? (if there is one on each side of the diff ignor that last bit).
  17. For that kind of money your not likely to get anything good but try Ebay as there are quite a few used cycles on there. Gumtree also have a good selection where i am but not sure about in your area.
  18. yer we try and stay to the end of the road near the bend as it's a little more out of the way and the grass over that side doesn't get used much so our inpact on the area is less. plus there are some trees for shade in the summer and a small bench to stand on.
  19. I like a pull start for bashing. if the car starts with a few pulls it's usually tuned within the "safe" zone. also with a roto start/starter box it's one extra thing to carry about plus if the battery runs out you will be unable to use your RC. If you carry spares for a pull start you can fix it mid bash if the cord or spring snaps and as long as you can lift your arm you can start the engne.
  20. For the chalk pits 4WD and 1/8th buggy sized tyres are my minimum recomendations due to the size of the holes and dips. plus anything with thin suspentions arms arn't likely to with stand more than 5 mins. things are going well we are all moved in and i shall be ordering some more fuel. once I am sorted then bashing will resume.
  21. I have been a little lapse with RC this year due to the birth of my first child two weeks ago and moving ome this weekend i will be starting to take my RC's out regularly again as soon as things settle down. i will still be i the Cherry Hinton area so Capital park will still be my local bash spot. there has been others that came along last year that have also moved home recently so once we are all ready to go then hopefully we will become more regular again.
  22. Bash option Hyper ST / SS truggy Race option Losi 8-T 2.0 Bash and Racing Losi 8-T 2.0 Just my opinion.
  23. I would offer a swap for My Muggy that keeps destroying clutches but I'm guessing you aren't looking for a swap.
  24. Can't believe you still have this. I have told a few friends that are looking for new nitro RC's but they are being difficult. good luck with the sale.
