  1. I'd give rc disco a ring. As the distributor, they should be able to help.
  2. I wouldn't of thought there's much in it between the two. I'd try asking in the on road section, some very clued up chaps there!
  3. Impossible to say which is best as they are all very capable buggies and you'd be happy with whichever you choose. Why not take your 808 to the track and do a race or two with it? While your there I'm sure you'll be able to have a look at the other buggies there and be able to ask questions about them.

    t3/tc4 wanted

I've got an unloved xray t4 if your interested
  6. Round 3 saw some fantastic racing here at Swindon. Lee Martin took first place with his Mugen. Closely followed by Sworkz driver Kevin Brunsden and Jack Emblim finished 3rd. All completing 27 laps. Nick Blackwell had a great race and took 4th. Top 1/10 driver Chris Lovell proved he has the pace with 8th and after a troubled 1st lap managed to get back into the race and took his Kyosho home in 5th spot. Reigning club champion Sean Wiles is gaining pace with his new xray finishing in 8th place.

I've seen too many problems with spectrums while racing. Seems they don't like being close to lots of other radios. You said you were going all out with no budget so really you should be looking at either sanwa or futaba sets.

If you like sticks, I use a sanwa exzes X and it's been a fantastic radio. Tons of functions, really comfortable and I really feel connected with the car. Downside is receivers are a little pricey! As for servos, there are many to choose from. Xpert get rave reviews but I've been using a trusty old ace ds 1015 for a couple of years without any issues racing in all sorts of weather. I found the mbx7 to be a nice step up from my old 6. Hope you have lots of fun with it!
  11. Great day for sworkz as kev brunsden takes round 2 closely followed by young gun nick blackwell and the rugged veteran Chris Lovell finishing 3rd. Standout drives by mugen driver Alex page and home town hero mark dixs. Danny fenach also looking good with his stealthy Durango dex408. A great turn out and some great racing was seen on the day . Hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope to see you back for round 3 . Full results here http://www.swindonrcmodelcarclub.co.uk/results.html
  12. Whether it's any good or not really depends on what your looking for in a model. You've not put any info up about yourself so it's hard for us to say if it'd suit you. Your age and experience in the hobby would be useful. It's a basic buggy at a great price. If it's just about all your budget will stretch too or it's your first rc then I think it'd be a good choice. If your used to more expensive rc's or you want to run it with friends who have brushless models then you might find it a bit limited. I think it's a great looking buggy that'd be lots of fun as long as your not looking for to much speed.
  13. Looks as though this is going to be a big race for us. Loads of talk on Facebook over our new crossover. Quite a few top drivers have said their coming. Should be a great day. Anyone who wants to join us, just turn up around 8:30.
  14. I've not been to the frankley track yet but I have heard its a fantastic venue. It's just had a major overhaul and reopened last weekend with a round of the nitro x winter series. It received some great feedback from the racers there that day. I'm sure you could just turn up with your truggy and they'd let you race. Most clubs will let you race three times before you need your own brca membership. However it's only

  16. Well round two is in 3 weeks time on the 30th so that might work out better for you. Be good to see you there!
  17. I'll be racing at Swindon tomorrow, my weather app says it's going to be a dry day! I'll keep an eye out for you in case you come along. I don't bother with the pratice days, with the limited play time my wife allows me it's race days only!
  18. Any updates on this? I never got on with mine so I'm keen to know how you find it. Have you raced it yet or do you have any plans to?
  19. I was wrong, I was posting about mmr flux!
  20. Then my post about the great service I received was from somewhere else..Doh
  21. Only used them the once but found them to be a very helpful friendly bunch. Even had my order delivered straight to the track on race day!
  22. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__34442__XT_T_Connector_Plug_Harness_for_2S_Hardcase_Lipo_1pc_UK_Warehouse_.html Are you sure this is what you need. The only zippy packs I've see are soft case and these are ment for plugging into hard case packs like nano techs. Can you post a picture of the battery? If he's not been balance charging it then there's no way I would buy it. I'd be looking to send it back as it doesn't sound fit for use. These packs are so cheep on hobbyking there's no reason to but second hand.
  23. Make sure all your batteries are charged including the transmitter ones. I'd give the car a once over making sure all the screws are tight and simple things like checking everything is moving freely. Then just get out there and have some fun. I remember being nervous before my first race but I came away grinning from ear to ear!
  24. I doubt it'll cost you 2 grand. My wife is 30 and has just passed her test. I bought her a 06 plate vw polo 1.4 and the insurance is around
