It uses a v2 app with a different interface set up, supposed to be quicker in some way and more stable. I have a number of other HW esc which I can use it with and am looking to purchase XR10 pro for my Storm.....

no more cards or program boxes, this is the second generation of the wi fi express, another bonus is two fellow forum members, who race at HNMC, both have XR8 esc.

now nearly all the goodies have arrived, time to start the build, step one read the manual throughly....

that’s racing stuff, nothing is cheap, my budget for the truggy build was £1k and still think I will go over....🤦‍♂️🤣

The combo has landed, 48 degrees of boost and turbo available on this set up, I think if I went anywhere near that the truggy would exploded... I have also ordered a OTA wireless programming module, no more cards or boxes, all will be done from my IPhone 12....

Final update for the day, managed to save some hard earned cash, no need to purchase any batteries. I have 2 pairs of hard case 2s with crazy high discharge. 😃

On electrics front, after a lot research, now going for the HW XR8 pro and 1900kv, this esc has only been out for a couple of months and will be superseding the SCT and Plus.

Been on a mission finding tyre/wheels, massive stock issues, although these will be a good start...

transponder has arrived, ordered a new case for it, the current one is a little battered, no issues with the magic bits inside, powered up and all good...

Unfortunately missed out on the XR8 plus, so ordered the 1900kv combo from WS....😃

secured a transponder for an excellent price...

Could not find the black version, no stock, but I prefer the iconic Savox orange...😆

Had a quick message chat with the N Designs this morning, a rough quote given, very reasonable. The servo should be with me tomorrow and the XR8 plus I am watching on EBay ends on Sunday, no bidders as yet....

The body shell needs a pro finish, not a one colour wonder, so it off go to N designs for a pukka paint job.....😃

Well time to come out of hibernation, time for another build, this will be a beast for thrashing around HNMC 1/8th track. Purchased from Herts Model. Stunning kit, very well detailed instruction manual, should be a joy of a build.... I have Savox 1268 on route from WS, a great and proven HV servo. The beating heart will be a classic racing esc/ motor combo, the Hobbywing XR8 plus and the 4268 1900kv. Pics and updates to follow...
