  1. I do store them in storage mode (as indicated by charger). I was going to use it that weekend, before it went up in smoke. Ah well it will stay outdoors from now. Now onto hobbyking.
  2. The car is E-Firestorm flux 4800 vapor motor. The one that smoked was full charge The one that has puffed had about a quarter charge left. I was bashing before this where I had a problem of the firestorm cutting of, steering would work. Then it would work again cut off and on again. I am not sure why, radio seemed fine, perhaps heat?
  3. It was in the Lipo bag. Luckily not in the car. It had been sitting idle for about 2weeks, in the bag. The room it was in is usually very cool.
  4. Will check them out I'm sure I read them in the Lipo guide. Any idea about the spontaneous combustion, and how to avoid that in future?
  5. Hi all, I have these LIPO'S: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1389_1393_1856_2380/products_id/211388/n/DuraTrax-Onyx-2S-Hard-Case-Li-Poly-25C-Battery-Pack-w-Deans-Connector-74V-5000mAh So max 10-15 runs, one pack has puffed, and one randomly started smoking and partly melted. Luckily it was in a lipo bag else who know what could have happened. Luckily only damage was a freaked out wife, and toxic smell for an hour. Weird thing is the puffed pack did not smoke. Needless to say they will stay outdoors from now on. How do I safely dispose of them given that one is puffed, and one is partly melted? 6. Hi All, My firestorm flux (vapor 4800) tends to cut off randomly. It stops I pick put it down and then starts working, then cuts off then works. The steering servo always has feedback. The batteries seem fine. Any ideas?
  7. Hi, I can imagine how your head hurts, i'm also a newb, Settled on a firestorm flux. It is sweet, strong and easy to learn. I have tried to break it no luck I'd recommend one for first car. parts and info all easy to get. Great support too. Hpi's site and parts listing are great too. No need for upgrades except maybe T-bone racing wheelie bar and front bumper for extra protection once you use lipo's. It really is that fast! Once you decide then you can learn about the joys of Lipo's. Zubz
  8. Hi, Perhaps check your charger as well. I had the same problem with low run time on mine. Turns out I blew the charger due to UK sockets (mine was USA version so 110v) whereas our should be 210v - 240v. Once i replaced the wall charger all was sorted. I then shifted to 2s Lipo which made the car much faster, and better run times. Once you're used to the basics (probably one or two runs), go Lipo and never look back .
  9. Hi, For a beginner and bashing i would recommend starting with 2s hardpacks to avoid breakages and more bashability. 30c plus will be insanely fast and less likely to break anything pref 5000mah and above for good run times: check out: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14976__Turnigy_5000mAh_2S1P_20C_hardcase_pack_USA_Warehouse_.html just try for the De warehouse. Check out the e-firestorm thread for more stuff the guys there got loads experience and always willing to help, (as well as suicidenell's battery tutorials): http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/109667-the-e-firestorm-thread/ I'd suggest taking time to go through the entire thread, and you'll become a master of the firestorm.
  10. The 29mm height might be a problem, you would need to raise the rear shock tower (see post #1 of this thread). I think max 24mm height is what you can get on stock height. The length and width is fine, you would need to squeeze them in with the supplied foam blocks. The 3900s would fit no problem, just squeeze with foam blocks. For bashing I would recommend going with hard-case packs.
  11. Thanks guys, Will check out both the ace and savox and see which fits my budget. Zubz
  12. Yeh checked the battery. I opened up the throttle servo and can clearly see its blown from black mark on one side and the smell. Had it checked by an electrician mate to confirm.
  13. Checked the throttle servo turns out its blown, strange for a brand new one, will have to get a replacement under warranty. Thanks.
  14. Hi Guys, Just ordered me some T-bones, need the wheelie bar to protect my motor. Could someone recommed me a nice set of of On road tires for when I want to mess about the street. For off-roads I shall get some dirt-paws , what should I put in front for off road? Thanks.
