  1. Hop ups are'nt everything, It's an easy way of getting into nitro cars. I, like i'm sure many others, will move onto bigger and better things once we have got to understand nitro cars better.
  2. Couldn't agree more. My first nitro and I think it's brilliant.
  3. I have the same car and it only has 1 needle and a screw for adjusting the idling speed. I ran mine in with the needle at 3 turns, and find it runs well at 2 1/4 turns. Hope this helps.
  4. I already have the nitro racer Astra up and running. Starts easily and once run in, runs really well. You'll have fun with it.

    How old

Yep, my hand is in the air! Got an electric buggy and nitro touring and I am 38! A bloke I work with has a savage 25 and he is 47.
  6. My main concern is whether the engine will overheat and the problems this may cause. This is my first nitro car and the shell I bought looks superb without any cutting out. I would prefer to leave it this way, but want to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  7. Thanks for that. Will the engine just cut out if it gets too hot?
  8. Does a bodyshell need to have any windows cut out in order to cool the engine? Is it a case of trial and error or is there a set way to do it. thanks in advance.
  9. Will sort some pics out soon.
  10. Back to the Nitro Racer..............had it out today. Started 3rd pull, run the engine in and had a little go at tuning it. ran out of time today, but I am impressed so far. May have taken a long time but can finally see the fruits of my labour. Think all in all it is a good way for anyone to get into nitro if they either don't have the money upfront, or are not sure it's for them. Six quid a week is neither here nor there.
  11. Was doing the truck myself until I lost my job. And although the nitro racer has taken a long time I know how it all goes together and how to repair it should it break.
  12. ....De Agostini's "Nitro Racer" is finally ready to rumble.( Body shell over 3 weeks? Nah! get one off ebay ) Yes, I was one of those mad enough to begin collecting all that time ago. YES it's taken a long time.....YES it's been a pain waiting......YES it's cost twice what it would to buy new. But it's done, the smell of nitro is only days away! Hope it starts.......watch this space.
  13. Yeadon, 5 miles from Modelsport. Try the "bomb holes" at the back of Leeds/Bradford Airport. or the BMX track at Yeadon Tarn (if it's not full of kids).
