  1. SURREY Lord Roberts Racing Centre Website: www.lrrc.co.uk Location: Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley Camp, Brookwood, Woking, Surrey, GU24 0NP] It was a google find so Ive no idea if its still running.
  2. Your answer: Nothing really if its set up ok! obviously you will have to Re-tune to the car to run on the new mix. However.....Just use 20% mate, 30% is rather high. I used to use 25% but ive moved to 20%. I just get a nicer tune out the car and the extra lube always helps look after the engine. 20% Byron will do you just nice mate Cheers
  3. Yep thats right the Hyper star and the hyper 9. What I'm saying is that Hoboa are world class and Ansmann are not, thats my point mate P.S I dont have a hyper and never have! Have you thought about a nice Losi 8ight? second hand ones come up lots on Ebay lots? they are fantastic cars! (You could always buy my Kyosho Inferno US sports? its got a .28 GXR engine thats done less than a gallon and brand new 20mm big bore shocks. VVGC, It will be on Ebay soon for around 130 quid)
  4. I.M.O DON'T GET THE ANSMANN AND DON'T GET A BIG BLOCK!!!! Get a nice hyper with the .21. Expect to need a new steering servo as the standard models tend to break as the servo saver on the hypers can be harsh on a plastic geared servo. I'm yet to meet anyone who has not killed the standard servo in the first few months. Hyper black is nice as it has the big bore shocks (I think). Regarding the engine, Trust me mate ive been down the same road, the little .21 are so much more fun and its a mith that a .28's are "so much faster" than the .21's The mach 28 is a poor engine anyway and I know of two people who have destroyed them in under a gallon of fuel and thats with doing things properly with run in and heat gun tuning! one even broke its crank???? And one big reason to buy a hyper is because loads of people run them at club level, they are a great car and parts are easy to get at good prices! also think that hoboa have top level cars in the world champs! always get respect with a nice little hyper! I have never ever seen an Ansmann being used at any club. The ansmann is a super fun basher for the garden but thats as far as it will ever go. Happy shopping
  5. Ok now im confused. I think the angine may be a RB C6, however it looks like my head is differant to standard? I believe it may be a mag head LGC? Is this an upgrade? im totally confused?
  6. HI Ive just picked up a RB engine but It needs a new cylinder head as the current one has a flappy cooling fin. Ive no idea what the engine is but its stamped up RB 8.9 on the orange head and it runs on "turbo" style plugs. it is a .21. Ive had a look on google and I cant find any info about the engine, I can fine some replacement "concept" heads but im unsure if they will fit my block? Any help would be super please?
  7. I'm now the owner of: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220870336479?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_982wt_1185 + more not in the advert Whoop whoop. bargain central
  8. Hi As per title, Has anyone raced one of these? are they and good and competitive?? Do you/have you owned one? Ive tried a quick google with not much info available about them, no major stores sell the kits? do they even make the buggy anymore? I take it they are from the US? cheers
  9. My Gxr managed to loosen it's own head over time!! I had the same problem. nipped it up and its now fine. I had all sorts of issues regarding tune, temps and eating plus. I only noticed what the problem was finally when the car lost control at full pelt a twice when out!! when I started to strip the engine the head was not tight, the air must have been getting in the "head gasket". How it ever ran is beyond me, but its ok now.

    Fuel

Model technics fuel is a big no no for me, horrible smelly stuff. I use byron!
  11. I will be at A1 racings track: http://www.a1racingclub.com/ It's Only club level noting serious (yet) I have an old Kyosho MP US running with various parts/mods from the 777 and the new neo + nice quality shocks. I'm Just getting back into it a little before I take the splash on another chassis, but the inferno does me fine for now. .............Plus I can dive
  12. The astro is all differant kinds, it changes corner to corner! :/ I have angled out my rear shocks, thus this would shorten the droop on the rear, I'm getting a much smoother corner with a little understear now. This is fine as its how I like it. I'm not adjusting the front quite yet.
  13. No Ive not removed any pins. but Ive had a blast on some tarmac and its removed the sharps. I shall see if its better next time im at the track. Cheers all.
  14. BINGO :) http://users.telenet.be/elvo/ Cheers.
  15. Thanks so far. Sorry, just to clear it up I'm talking about a basic guide to chassis tuning not engine. For example lifting the rear giving you more turn in and such. Mrfodds. Yer Ive been playing about doing large adjustment and both ends of an adjustment scale to see the differance it makes. I was getting huge over grip on the rear (on astro using microspikes) making me flip over on corners, so far I have dropped the rear ride height and now im playing with the rear camber, I hear that if you put more neg camber at the rear you decrease the level of corner grip. I suppose what im after is a basic guide such as: front toe pos = front toe neg = rear .....= cambers ride height and so on. I understand each car is differant but the basics are always there. Its been 15 years since I raced 1/10th electric off road and ive forgot more about chassis tuning than I thought. cheers
  16. Hi all. Does anyone know any good links for how to set up a 1/8th Buggy? what general changes do etc. Cheers.
  17. Generally they use the same engine mount or the engine makers would be daft!
  18. Whats your budget mate? Whats your budget mate, and on road or off road?
  19. Remenmber Big engines are not all they are made out to be, It's more often about the state of tune rather than the cc. A quality .21 will fly compared to a .28
  20. Soooooo true, I have to keep revving my engine till the marshal gets close, then put I on the breaks for recovery. In this short time I pray it wont stall but 3 times out of ten it will cut out.
  21. No mate, I think it has an RB engine.
