  1. It's not sealed, it's an Ansmann Mad Monkey
  2. Hi all, Do the gears in an electric buggy gearbox need greasing? If so what is the best grease to use? Thanks
  3. What do you mean by breaking in??
  4. The washers and balls looked fine. I've ordered a new diff kit as it's the only thing I can think of doing!!!!
  5. I haven't run it at all yet Nitroholic. It's brand new and never been run, the guy that built it said he gave up on it! The Mad Rat runs fine but the Monkey is proving to be a bit of a Monkey!! I've had it all apart, I've tried screwing things tight, leaving them loose the lot! The driveshaft cups turn in the same direction when turned by hand, they should obviously go in opposite directions?! Should the nut on the slipper be loose or tight?
  6. Ok I've taken the transmission apart and there doesn't appear to be any damage or stripped gears. I've reassembled and left everything fairly loose. When I turn the spur gear the driveshafts do turn with the car lifted but when it is one the floor the motor turns the spur gear but that's all. Does anyone know where I should look now? Thanks
  7. Hi all, I'm new to electric cars but have been running nitro for a few years now. I've got hold of a second hand Ansmann Mad Rat and second hand Ansmann Mad Monkey to get my 3 year old son into the hobby. The Mad Rat is fine but the Monkey isn't!! It's absolutely brand new and has never been run because whoever had built it doesn't seem to have done a very good job with the diff! If you rotate the rear wheels by hand they both turn in the same direction but if do the same with the Rat and my Hyper 7's they turn in opposite directions which of course is right. Where is the best place to start with this please guys? Thanks Luke
  8. I don't really have a budget in mind because I had no idea what I will need. Selling nitro gear was something I was going to do though, I've got 4 good engines that I could sell plus various other nitro parts.
  9. Hi all, I've got a couple of Hyper 7's and have enjoyed them for the last few years however I'm getting a little fed up with the constant retuning and other issues that come with nitro. This has lead me to look into the possibility of a brushless conversion however I know absolutely nothing about electric RC's as I've always had nitro. So my question is what exactly do I need for this conversion and roughly how much will it cost? Thanks
  10. How would diff set up affect it? And what would I need to do? They both have the same tyres so that can probably be ruled out? I'll try some spacers on the springs tomorrow to make them more firm
  11. Hi all, I've got two Hyper 7's, one is a black edition with big bore shocks and the other is a Pro with standard shocks. My problems is that the black edition corners like a house fly at high speeds but the other one has a tendency to roll over, other than slowing down more before turning is there anything else with regard the set up that I can do to prevent this?
  12. Thanks all. I wasn't sure about it and I think I'm just going to keep them indoors. Was just trying to free up a bit of space!!
  13. Hi all, Is it ok to store Nitro cars in a shed? I'm talking the actual cars and not the fuel. Obviously I ensure the internals of the engines are coated in either after run oil or GT85 after use but with colder temperatures in the shed is there any chance of rust or any other damage? They would be kept in a cupboard in the shed. Thanks
  14. Hi all, What is the best thing for repairing a split shell? Is fibreglass matting any good?
  15. Don't bother it's HARD work! I did mine with Autoglym Tar & Glue remover in the end, I didn't find brake fluid too effective
