  1. Kyosho.............. .................Great until you get a price for a spare part........if you can get it in the next three weeks. I warn you now mate, been there.
  2. If I ever bash, I rip up the kids BMX track in my parents Village!!!
  3. Hi mate. To be honest you need a temp gun, just looking at smoke is no good. E bay for a 10er. Plus to be honest you will struggle to keep tune on that engine as they are a little temperamental to say the least.
  4. Why, for some drift action? I warn you the car will be a serious handfull, my mate did this with his old spare MBX5 for a laugh, turns out it was not much fun as the car just span out of control everywhere and at some frightening speeds! soon put it back to 4WD!
  5. I'm 31 doe's that make me the "older generation" ??? "when I were lad, we had to chase t cars round t track on bit t wire lad ah tell thee, Non of this fancy gigga megga radio equipment youths use t day"
  6. Ah the days when you could whip your competition across the face with your Arial on a cold winters day!!!! Non contact sport my arse!!! ha ha ha
  7. OK for a shelf queen, but my god why the hell would anyone want one of them at that price!!! I would go for a vintage Sandscorcher or such like if I had the "spare cash". This guy is a joke!!!!
  8. Skills to pay the bills. What were you BRCA standings for 2010? :b
  9. Hi all Just wondering what kind of transmitter controllers people use? and do you race or just bash? why have you chosen the type of controller you use? I Have always used stick but I've just recently gone over to guns, No doubt about it, I am not as good with the gun's. Looks to me like most people use Guns these days, but I find I have much less control? 15 years ago when I raced electric 1/10th guns didn't even exist as far as I know! yet now I see that all RTR packs are now gun control, 95% of the top drivers use guns so there must be an advantage! I suppose its what your used to! I'm pro stick and Ill be going back to it as soon as I get the money for a new set up, but again the selection is seriously limited compared to guns. What's your thoughts?
  10. I have a right wing view to all this "running in". Lets think what the actual run in procedure is doing? it's making a good seal/match for the piston and liner and putting the mechanical components through a heat cycle or 3. IMO all this talk of an engine not hitting its "sweet spot" after a gallon of fuel is totally daft. imagine how many times that piston has been up and down at that point in its life and all the heat cycles, how can it possibly not be ready for full performance even after 3 tanks of fuel and three full cool downs? At half rpm, lets say 17,000 Rpm and a tank say lasting 6 mins rich thats the engine rotated 102,000 times so 4 tanks 408,000 revolutions. Realistically is going to be about 300,000 revolutions in total when running in. I think the engine is more than run in at that point? I would put money on the fact that any nitro engine after 4 tanks of running rich is ready for full tuning up, abuse and full throttle. All the model shops and manufactures are doing are covering there backsides. All my engines get 4 tanks rich and then they have it, Ive used this method on RB's GO's and piccos with no issues. I believe running temps and fine tuning is the key to long life, not the running in procedure. But that's just my opinion . If I recall Picco say 4 tanks of steady running anyway for there procedure.
  11. As per title please, must be good condition, cash waiting. Thanks Adam
  12. Hi Just wondering if anyone knows anyone/company's that do custom shell painting please? Ive found KIFOPAINT http://www.kifopaint.co.uk/paint.html Who look good but I was wondering if anyone knows of any more? My shell is tatty and It needs a fresh look, I'm liking the look of the Prolone bulldog for my HB D8H. Expensive job these shells £23 for the shell and £40 for the paint job.......Ouch I would do it myself as I'm quite arty farty, but by the time Ive got and airbrush paint etc etc its just not worth it.
  13. Hi mate. Is that pipe not supposed to be tuned anyway? Don't take this the wrong way but Ill be honest mate, you will never get good results out of the Mac .28, its just not a great engine. Save your money and get a nice Picco .21 (engine pipe package) they are around 120-130 quid for entrance level engines and your mac clutch fits straight on them. (but you may want a 15 tooth bell rather than your current 13/14 tooth) They are so sooo much better than that .28. Trust me two mates have had the mac .28 in a hyper 7, one destroyed itself (snapped the crank) and the other just never held tune and ate glowplugs. I can get you the picco engine/pipe model number off my mate later if you like? Its just an option but trust me you will smile from ear to ear!!!
  14. For your interest mate: http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/setups.php?partNo=67300 Cheers.
  15. Have you run it on a track? how is it? I've just done that with my second car (I got bored) Not run either on the track yet but Ill keep you posted.
  16. Oh god its happening I'm finally cracking up!! Ive just spent 3 hours setting my HB D8 to an exact match as recommended by Car Designer Josh Alton at the ROAR nats 2009.....LoL. Calipers, steel rule, wedge gauge, I think I've set the car to Gas turbine tolerances.......0.000001mm ha ha, reminds me, I must not bring my work life home with me! Nope I'm not at the same track and the conditions are totally different but joking aside ill be very interested how the car performs spesh regarding jumping! I Can't believe how different the settings are compared to how it was set before! Just a quick blap down the road and I can just feel the car is more stable and set even generally handling and dropping the car on the bench it just feels solid!! Not sure if to set up my second "short track" D8H now or just leave it how it is! I might end up right in the sh@ on astro!!! "Pick a set up, any set up" LoL

  18. plus remember the kyosho GX has a screw on manifold not a spring retained one. I think you can get a conversion kit! Go for a team Orion mate, I had one on my GX21 and it was lovely! about 45 quid tho. http://www.teamorion.com/inferno-7.5-sport-gt-serie-in-line-pipe-set-en-2-3.html
  19. Brilliant Thanks for that Bowie,
  20. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cooling Head for my GO GX-3R .21 turbo engine? Ive looked and looked and looked with no joy, its "doing my head in" (get it??) Cheers
  21. Hi all I've just lost a wheel nut down the road at about 50Mph LoL , I reached for a spare and it does not fit?? the car is a HB D8, I am unsure if the hubs are standard or not. (ive only just got it second hand) The spare wheel nuts and hubs have a fine thread, and the D8 hubs look to be a little more coarse! I tried to change the entire hub but they don't fit (must be off another car) I tried the spare nut off my Kyosho inferno and its the same as the spare hubs I have (unlike the one I've lost) I didn't realise that manufactures used different thread pitches on there cars! I just wanted to check if anyone knows any more info before I buy a new set, I'm assuming that any HPi/ hot bodys wheel nut will fit?? any pointers please? because It handles terrible with 3 wheels Many thanks Adam

  23. Hi mate I had the same issue fitting my GXR.28 to my old inferno MP 7.5. The original GX.21 bolted to the chassis however the new .28 engine fitted on side saddles like most other engines I believe you may require the following parts or simular (please check before) Kyosho part numbers: IF108B IF210 IF211 These is the engine mount I used, However I got this: http://www.asiatees.com/display.php?Kyosho-Inferno-MP7.5-Parts-Hop-Ups-Upgrades&brand=Kyosho&model=Inferno%20MP7.5&id=25258&pid=1 Hope this helps, If you want me to have a quick measure let me know. Cheers Adam also available on E bay.
