  1. Also managed to light up the Yeti XL....
  2. Finished first trim and painted body on my 4.6 Trophy Truggy.....
  3. Got my 4.6 Trophy Truggy and heaps of bits and pieces from them over the years but they don't stock lots of the smaller stuff. They're good for getting things you want in but that's nothing I can't do for less myself. Think I'll have to stick with Pro-Specs because I know they fit, unless anyone out there has the Power Stroke shocks and the answer. Also interested in peoples thoughts of the two different shocks for bashing purposes. I know the Pro-Specs are 'Prolines' new top of the wozza shocks, but to me the Power Strokes look a bit more heavy duty.
  4. Strange that, cos Pro-Line tell me both shocks eye to eye 100mm extended?? If any LHS in my entire state had either of these shocks I'd measure the bloody things myself! You wouldn't think it would be so hard now, would you! The new Pro-Specs assembled are apparently shorter than the build yourself versions?? But what are the actual eye to eye lengths of the Power Stroke (REAR #6063-01) please anyone who knows for sure, not just what some website salesman has put in an add?
  5. Trying to decide between a set of Pro-Spec rears (#6308-01) or Power Stroke rears (#6063-01) all round for bashing with my Halix MT. I have the Pro-Spec measurements and know they will fit but need the compressed and extended (eye to eye) measurements for the Power Strokes. I contacted Pro-Line and was told that the Power Strokes would be the same as the Pro-Specs (68.5mm-100mm), but all the research I've done say otherwise?? My concern is that the Power Strokes are more like only 75mm eye to eye compressed. Does anyone have these Power Strokes or know for sure the eye to eye measurements compressed and extended? Any recommendations or experience with these two different shocks would also be appreciated.
  6. The road tires/wheels I mentioned did come pre-mounted but not the Badlands. Yes these are way to big for your car, but the answer to your question turtletom is you can get road tires/wheels of a similar size and/or width. Seek and ye shall find - 99% of the time anyway
  7. Check out the Proline range. I got a set of Phaltline road tires mounted on 8 spoke 3.8 chromies for my 4.6 Trophy Truggy. They're as big and wide as my Badlands mounted on 3.8 Desperados.
  8. Good stuff Ratty. Have fun with it, drive hard and try not to brake anything!
  9. Nice car, had a look at it myself but decided on a MT rather than a buggy/truck. For the same price I would get a 4WD basher able to handle 3S and the bonus of AVC. Even at 1/8 the Glamis is same size as 1/10 Halix just without the ride height. Check out the BigSquidRC review on the Glamis Fear. Let us know how you go.
  10. No worries Rattymatty Got mine off Ebay from an Aussie hobby shop over east. Did a bucket load of research on this and other similar trucks before purchase. My brother has a Tmax and a mate has the Stampede but they all reckon the Halix poops all over them. Only thing I've done to mine is put a motor heatsink with fan on, bumped up to 38WT shock oil and put a 18T pinion (AU$2) to run 3S lipos with cooler temps. It still hammers on 2S though. If got any questions just let me know mate.
  11. Check out the Vaterra Halix 1/10 MT. BigSquidRC has a good review and hop up series on it. I recently got one and highly recommend it. It's a large 1/10, takes 2S & 3S lipos, looks good, bashes well and is fast - had mine up to 85km/hr. Also comes with Spektrum TX and AVC RX.
  12. Take a look at the 1/10 Vaterra Halix MT. Great basher, super fast and just good fun. Comes with Spektrum TX and AVC RX. Good if your new to offroad. On 3S had mine up to 85km/hr.
  13. Can anyone tell me of a back plate cover with no pull start or rotostart to fit my Trophy Tuggy with the F4.6 nitro engine? I tried hpi support but got no reply. Cheers
  14. So if I don't thrash it too much and keep an eye on temps, 3S will be fine on stock pinion till new ones come?
  15. Cheers mate. I'll order a couple of sizes, wait a while, grab a 3S and see how I go. Let you know if I brake anything!
  16. Gday Devin Took Halix out for a quick spin on a 5200mAh 30C 2S (waiting on a 5600mAh 50C 2S) the other day. Very nice truck. I'm going to put heavier oil in the shocks, prob 42.5wt I've got spare. The motor ran cooI but I put a heatsink+fan on the motor cos even though it's fast I know it'll go faster with 3S! Any suggestions on which (if any) pinion gear to change to so I can run 2S and 3S safely? I looked at the gear chart in the manual and assume a 19T pinion, but too sure?
  17. Only other lipos I got are TRX plugs for the revo So will change Halix plug to deans, get hard case lipo with deans and in the mean time take out the 4.6 Trophy to annoy some of the local BMX kids. Let you know how I go once I get a chance to run it.
  18. She's till a virgin. Waiting on delivery of lipos and none of my local hobby stores have any lipos or connectors/plugs of the EC3 kind in stock! Think I might just put deans plug on the car. Seems to be plenty of those lipos in store around here. I live in Western Australia (W.A) aka....Wait Awhile
  19. Yeah, that'd be sweet. can you send me the links or titles?
  20. Cheers for the pics mate. Don't worry about dimensions, it just got delivered today ! I'll pick up a cheap 2S from my local hobby shop so I can have blat with it on the weekend while I wait for Hobbyking to deliver my other lipos. Thanx again for your help.
  21. One more thing Devon. Can you tell me from your Halix what the max dimensions of the battery compartment is so I can get a couple before it arrives? Also would I have any probs with hardcase lipo wires coming out the top and being obstructed by the battery compartment lid?
  22. Thanx for that Devon. Good to hear from the horses mouth about tried'n'tested lipos for this truck.
  23. Thanx Noj. Was looking at around 5000mAh or more but still waiting on delivery of the Halix. Cheers guys for the help in plain English without all the overly technical lingo!!!
