  1. Can I ask why? What i'm looking from the next car is: 1) Speed 2) Durability (basher) 3) Hopups Thx
  2. Thanks for the replies - shame about the bullet but not gonna go against the advice. Thank you guys.
  3. Hi, I currently have a XL5 Stampede which i've upgraded and made various changes to. I'd like to get another quicker/4wd/offroader... I like what I see in both of these, possible the fact that there are more hop ups available for the FTX is a point in its favour above the Bullet. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-carnage-1-10-4wd-brushless-truggy-rtr/rc-car-products/40397 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-bullet-st-flux-rtr/rc-car-categories/18/9900/990010&ChassisID=706 Which would you choose and why? Thanks
  4. Thanks to all - went with hpi, at that price doesn't matter if disappointed.
  5. Ah ok thank you Justgreatsam. Sorry for newb questions but... Given the Ansmann Racing Launcher Motor - 12T is a 540. Will it fit the Stampede XL-5 ok? Any suggestions on gearing change? (if required if not, great) Anything else a newb should know about changing a motor? THank you
  6. Thank you for the replies. My concern with another Titan 12t is I've read individuals who have had similar issues and 'blame' the Titan as a dodgy motor. If I went with the Ansmann I'm guessing I'd need to solder on the connectors, where do I get those from pls? And would I need to change the gearing? (Running stock at the moment). Thank you.
  7. Hi, My Titan 12t started smoking the other day, I'd like to replace it with a similar speed, minimal grief, brushed motor. Can anyone suggest such a motor please? Thank you
  8. Hi, I live in maidstone. Where abouts in moat park is the dirt track pls? Over by the small train track? Or near the new playground in the wood? Thanks
  9. Yeah have been reading around, and mailed modelsport. Apparently I can use 2.2" but by default XL-5 comes with 2.8".... From what I've read though I need to swap from bushings to bearings first though. Thanks for reply.
  10. Found this http://traxxas.com/pitpass/hopup/news/Pit-Pass-Project-Stampede-XL-5 which states 'Don't forget that the front wheels require a different offset than the rear wheels on the electric Stampede'. I take it that means I can't use those HPI's
  11. Dirt/Grass mainly... very little pavement etc. Thanks
  12. Hi, I'm a newb with a Stampede XL-5. I'd like to change the wheels/tyres.... I was looking at these Wheels http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-split-5-truck-wheel-black-2pcs-/rc-car-products/15143 These Tyres http://www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-masher-2000-front-or-rear-truck/rc-car-products/11402 Would these work? I've seen in other places that you have different wheels/tyres on front/back. Also what would I do about inserts? Thank you
  13. I'm in Maidstone, and very new to all this. Not sure I'll make Sunday (and only have a Stampede) but are there good places around here for bashing?
  14. Hi, That does look good but says its for vxl, would it fit xl-5? Thanks.
