  1. I got my Hyper 7 as a second hand roller with some hop-ups, so not sure what is stock and what isn't. Mine has the locking screws, and it threw me the first time I had to take them off, that's why I mentioned it.
  2. Daft question, but have you removed the locking screw that goes down the centre of the driveshaft? Not sure if this is standard, but they're on my Hyper 7. Needs a 5mm hex IIRC. Only option really is to stick them in a vice (or locking pliers), and tap them out with a screw driver/drill bit and a hammer.
  3. Just measured mine (2S 5000mah), and the inside diameter of the female bullet is 5.5mm, so that's what I'd assume it to be. Swapping mine over to EC5s as that's what I now use for all my big stuff.
  4. Found out today that my daughter will be off school because of a strike. So that means I have a daughter to watch over, and the park will probably have loads of kids on it. So I'll probably not be out tomorrow now either.
  5. Google Map link is on page 2 of this thread.
  6. Definitely not 13, I got platinum at 10 IIRC. Although if you read their forums it's not fixed, it may be based on number and value of orders.
  7. Anyone fancy a bash this Thursday? I'm thinking of going to Park View, much better skate park, plus the BMX track too. It's usually empty during the day so not having to drive round kids.
  8. What do you want to order? I'm sure we can come to an agreement.
  9. Here are the ones I ordered: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=56051 If you do a search on "SCRATCH/DENT", and a capacity or cell count then you should find what you need. Seems to be everything from 800mah 2S all the way up to 5000mah 6S. They also show up using the Lipo finder (click Battery Heaven from the front page), just look for the ones 'made' by SCRATCH/DENT.
  10. I think it's based on completed orders. You need at least 10 I think, then you become a Platinum VIP. I think I might be spending too much money on RCs.
  11. Oh, didn't realise that. Guess I must be a VIP.
  12. Just perusing HobbyKing today, and spotted they are selling a whole load of LiPos cheap from the UK warehouse that are marked as 'Scratch/Dent'. The description says they were used in a photoshoot, and the photos (actual batteries supposedly) show them to be in excellent condition. Many don't even have connectors on so not even used once. No warranty, so that's a negative. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/RC_PRODUCT_SEARCH.asp?strSearch=scratch%2Fdent This is a 'once they're gone, they're gone' offer, so probably best not to hang around if you're interested.
  13. I use one that I bought off here for about
  14. Was in my local Aldi last night, and cans of GT85 were
  15. Well, I wasn't sure until the last moment. Managed to get there for about 12:15, and bashed alone. Managed to entertain a few teenagers buy jumping the Summit around the skate park, then I went trailing around the lake. Had my GoPro going for a lot of the time, so I'll try and get a bit of video up later on.
  16. Just did a quick search and there seems to be very little solid information on the max rated discharge abilities of AA batteries. The datasheets for the likes of Duracell and Eneloops, only give information for discharges at around 500ma-1000ma. Which suggests if you're drawing much more than 1amp you're probably over stressing the batteries. Most LiPos are rated from at least 10amp (that's where the transmitter packs seem to start) up, so that would give you much more available headroom. Just remember to fit some form of alarm.
  17. If you can buy the same item elsewhere but cheaper, then why not try out MSs Price Match? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/pages/price-match/9 I've used it a couple times, and been very happy.
  18. If I'm free then I'm up for a bash. However I probably won't know for sure until Thursday morning.
  19. I had one the other day from DHL, arrived nearly 2 months after the package was delivered, wanted about
  20. Just a quick heads up, AsiaTees are doing a fathers day 10% discount. Use code 'Superpapa' at the checkout. https://www.asiatees.com/ I've just ordered some bits to make my Wraith 4WS.
  21. Plenty of recommendations in this thread. I personally am still rocking the stock HPI 4000kv motor.
  22. Do you mean you've stripped the threads out of the holes in the motor? If so the only option is to use larger screws and a tap and die set to recut the threads to a larger size. You'll probably also have to drill the holes on the motor plate out a bit too. Or you could just buy a new motor.
  23. My XS has had some abuse, and I know others have given theirs plenty too. If you buy the RTR then expect to replace the ESC however, they're known to go pop (mine did even after only running 2S), and the stock servo is pants too. If you can find the XS SS (discontinued now, but a few knocking around) and put your own electronics in it's a better deal.
  24. If you look at the sizes of those 6000mah ones against the 7600mah ones that are designed to be a good fit you'll see they are bigger. If you are lucky they might just squeeze in, or you might have 2 batteries that won't fit. It's only a couple of mm, but it may be too much.
