Is the e firestorm motor OK with the flux ESC?

Hi guys, got a problem with my sons e Firestorm, only a month old. It seems to run for 5 minutes with a fresh battery, then cut it down as if the battery has run out. Both NiMH batteries do it, and I tried a 2s lipo and it's doing it to. Could it be an ESC problem? When I put the 2s into my own firestorm flux it's fine.

Thanks for all the tips mate, appreciate it. How do I balance charge the lipos? I've prob charged them 4 times now but no idea how to balance charge?

Yeah I got him his e firestorm for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and he loves it but the batteries are grim. Last week I got a Firestorm flux for myself to go out with him and with 3s it's insane so I'm glad I got him the non flux to learn with. He would prob be breaking it every outing I reckon. I'm hoping the 2s lipos will improve his experience, and what you're saying makes me think it will!

Yeah that's the one, will I need to set up the ESC for lipos or just plug and play?

I just bought one 2nd hand with 1x2s and 2x3s lipos, a charger and a few spares, also has titanium tie rods and Ese white ball ends fitted, all boxed in excellent condition for £230 + £20 postage. Loving it, this thing can shift!

Had a look around the forum but can't see anything. My son has an e Firestorm and runs NiMH, I want to change to 2s lipos, do I need to cut the wires from the ESC or can I buy an adapter so he can use both types of batteries?

Figured it out! He must have gave the motor a wee knock in a crash (says he didn't!), I slackened it and adjusted away form spur gear slightly and now all good.

Hi guys, sorry if this is a silly question, but after my sons had a couple of runs with his new firestorm, it seems the rear wheels are locked solid when it's sitting in the house not in use. Is this normal? I didn't notice it when he got it on Friday, so not sure if it should be like this?

Hi guys, always had nitro and petrol cars in the past, but just got my boy an e firestorm. He loves it, it's his first RC car but the battery (3300 mAh NiMH) takes 6 hours to change which is a real pain. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good charger that will charge it faster?
