  1. i took out my (well my boy's) crt brushless mamba monster 2200 for its first proper bash today. AWESOME fun. I am a brushless convert. This is clearly the future. Anyay I shredded a pinion, clearly I'm going to need to buy some spares. What pinions do you guys use and where do you get them from? I reckon I'll be getting 18t or 20t,
  2. yeah i'm in hackney- would have loved to make the marshes bashes- i'm down there most weekends anyway- just clashed with family stuff on the days unfortunately
  3. my boy is mad about monster trucks. i've got him a crt for christrmas. any ideas on what monster truck shells might fit it?
  4. the turnigy 9xr will be out at some point soonish (it's already late) - 9 channels, rumoured to have dsm2 / dsmx support, and may even be cheaper. Also it won;t be orange.
  5. i use a dx6i and this one has a spektrum 600 rx- though i usually use cheapo orange rx and they're fine
  6. these are the ones- cheap as chips! http://www.giantshar...r-p-403331.html i think it may be a straight fit, or I may have had to ream it out a bit, can;t remember for sure.
  7. gens ace dimensions: Size: 117 x 34 x 32mm (L x W x H) Weight: 261g to be honest on paper they don;t have the c rating of nanotechs. i just got a couple of nanotech 4s 2200 lipos, with much higher c rating 45-90. only tried 1 flight and it wasn;t workign because they were smaller and lighter and didn;t balance the plane, i was all over the place. With the slipstream the lipo is at the front and the weight is needed for balance, so on the stryker you're probably better with the nanotechs- higher performance, lighter weight, and the price is great.
  8. i don;t have a stryker but i do have that motor on my slipstream wing. I've got it running on a 60amp ESC and 4s 30c 2200 gens ace lipos on 7x6 e prop. i tried a few smaller props- i thought the 7x6 e would be too much for it - but it does just seem to be able to handle it and has really serious oomph.
  9. yep that's what i'm talking about. just for the record in case anyone checks this thread i'd like to point out that i wouldn't condone anything that is contrary to legal requirements. i have no idea if this is the case or not, I suspect it may be.
  10. little tip with the dx6i - if you look at the power settings in the menu, there are settings for UK, US and Eur (maybe france too? I forget) anyway the point is, if you set it to US it has higher power output at least that's what I was told! all to do with regs on tx output in different places.
  11. thanks. does this look right? it's for the pro-18bx engine http://www.modelsport.co.uk/thunder-tiger-one-way-bearing-for-evo-12-15-18-28bxr/rc-car-products/15082
  12. my thunder tiger tomahawk bx pull start is slipping. it's pretty annoying! do i need a new one way bearing? or will a good squirt of nitro cleaner fix it do you reckon? If i need a new bearing, which one should I get?
  13. shame, vladimir doesn;t do one for an X1-CRT. can;t see an outerwears one either. maybe i should have go at making one myself? what are they made from, just polypropylene fabric?
  14. thanks guys! will one of these protect the electrics from water pretty effectively? well enough to go through puddles without a disaster?
  15. I've just got my first brushless truggy, and reckon I'll pop one of those covers over the electrics, like this one: I don't know what tey're called though so having a bit of a mare trying to find one! Where would i get one from? Also, am I going to be alright going through puddles and stuff with one of these over the electrics?
  16. yeah i haven't really done anything on this for a while. must get back on it
  17. here's a link to a post here advising to bend the links, but as I say I'm not sure exactly what to bend
  18. Right so the brakes on my Hyper ST are pretty dire. I keep hearing "bend the rods! reduce the travel!" but I'm not clear on exactly what to bend, what direction to bend it or how much! Can someone either explain or find a diagram or a video or whatever showing me what to bend, and how much?
  19. i've settled on this crt now, sorry mate
  20. my boy wants his own electric truggy for christmas. ideally x1 crt, possibly a hyper st pro, would certainly consider others- st standard, trophy flux, whatever would also consider doing a conversion but would prefer something already running. also needs to be cheap or the mrs will murder me.
  21. quick question - are the screws etc on this imperial or metric?
  22. yeah bosh all sorted. that took a proper tug to get it off.
