  1. Made my firestorms pullstart explode lol. After a year and a bit of abuse it's started sticking and stiff to pull. After cleaning it all up it's umpteen attempts later and still not back together lol, think I'll try again tomoz with a clear head.
  2. Here's mine, needs tidy though Plenty of space when it's tidy
  3. You can fit them without the proper tools, but the proper tools make things easier as with all things on life. Without you risk stabbing yourself lol. Depends if think the cost of the tool is worthwhile, ie if you only every use it once or twice then could the money be better spent? If you doing lots of clutch changes then yes probs well spent. I've only had to fit one set so couldn't see the point in the tool, especially after doing it and not stabbing myself lol. My ansmann clutch kit has been in since last November in my savage with a sh.28 engine and gets run most week ends, not had a issue with it. Springs are little stiff but thats suits me - great for pulling wheelies lol
  4. I've got that ansmann kit in my savage and it seems to be holding upto my sh28 engine quite well. If your going to use the flywheel as well then, use the collet that comes with the kit, not the one already fitted to the engine, I did that and it moved it all forward enough to foul the spur gear.
  5. You will need the duel disk brake hub aswell, as they won't fit properly on a single disc hub and will round it off. I had this happen to me courtesy of previous owner. It also caused a slight snatch in the drivetrain as they wernt properly supported by the single disc hub. You can get a hd one piece steel hub and drive cup for about a fiver of ebay
  6. As the op stated he wanted full electronic fuel management then would the principle work as he would be able to inject the fuel when ever need?
  7. You can turbo two strokes, I don't know the ins and outs of it but there are are hundreds in daily use. Admittedly they rather larger diesel engines in super tankers and the like but it shows that the principle works, maybe researching in that direction would give some ideas for ya.
  8. Depends on your charger, it usually has the output on it somewhere, if you can find this you can work it out for example: Output 350mah from charger 2100mah glow stick So 2100 divided by 350 = 6hrs. But if it's new it may have been part charged when made so will need checking on to make sure it's not to hot. Also it will take a few cycles of charging and discharging to reach its full potential. If its gets hot to hold its probs best to take of charge and use .
  9. Lol you'll get used to it with a savage, I'd just rebuilt mine after taking the engine out due to a stone jamming the flywheel and making me think it had seized, put it back together goes to start and the knot at the end of the pull start string in the handle comes undone and all the string dissappears in the pull start doh time to pull it apart again. Lol
  10. The thread lock is probs getting wiped of when it goes in the hole and binding it up. Do you have the same set up on each corner? If you do and only have one coming loose then switch this one to back and thread lock it, as it doesn't need to turn a t the back problem is removed. Or you could try carefully applying the thread lock to the hole instead of the screw, maybe use a cocktail stick to apply it,
  11. Sounds like your getting thread lock where it isn't ment to be, When you say upright do you mean the hub or the hub carrier/ c hub?
  12. When you put the after run oil I'm did you pull the pull starter to distribuate it around the engine ? If not that may be why you found it harder to start- combustion chamber full of oil . Tbh wouldn't worry about the oil at the mo as for break in its going to be running rich and oily and you aren't leaving it for long times anyway.
  13. Sounds like you owe customs charges, you should get a letter telling you how much and where to pay and collect. Tbh its probs the post office though.
  14. Yep free fix , was gutted thinking engine had died though, it's only just broke in and I thought it was dead.
  15. Well have finally got round to testing it and I can report all is now well, no loss of drive any more and reverse functions as it should, sorry it took so long to get back to you, It was all down the servo setup, needed endpoints adjusting to ensure that the selector peas fully home, without endpoint adjustment on your tx/rx you would need to move the servo horn a spline or two.
  16. Yes you will need the proper brake hub/ drive cup. It will round of the plastic single disc style one. I've had it happen courtesy of previous owner. I went for the one piece hub/drive cup as my original drive cup was badly worn and it was cheaper than the alloy hub and separate drive cup.
  17. So finally got some free time, glowcharger charged, rx pack charged and a bit of fuel all at the same time woo., thought I'll go for a quick bash after work and see if ive fixed my savages issues. - momentary loss of drive.. So I blasting around pulling a few jumps and thinking yay fixed that, really should have screwed the bumper back together though lol, split the body in a couple of places but nevermind lol, when it suddenly cuts out, thinking it out of fuel goes over to restart only to find its got fuel, hmmm ok, glow stick on pull start pulled and nowt happens, intact the pull start dosent pull it's locked solid. Ok then , drive train check - yep free, clutch and spur check - yep free , flywheel check nope , it's solid too. Oh bu***r I thinks Glowplugs out - nope still locked solid , by now beginining to fear the worst so pack up and go home,, straight in shed and start stripping it down with that bit of dread about what you going to find lurking about, Why so many screws holding this together grrr, finally engine and mount plate come free., it's still solid, oh bu**er again. Drop on bench in frustration, stamp feet and pick it up ready to fling it and something drops on the floor, huh what's that. que tens mins looking for something I don't even know what. Picks up engine really ready to throw and notice as I holding it the flywheel moves wtf? Grab pullstart and it works? Smooth as anything ?????? So it turns out that the flywheel has a really shiny edge now where something got trapped between it and the crankcase till it jammed, got some alloy scrappings around mount, My engines all good yay, panic over lol and just got to put it all back together now groan Stone stops play lol
  18. All depends how much space you got to play with and are you willing and able to make tank mounts. You can get generic round or square tanks in loads of sizes - look for rc plane tanks. Another way would be to fit a second tank so that one feeds into the other then into the engine..
  19. Brakes may be due to setup , if its second hand then make sure every thing correctly setup..mine has dual fibre disc as factory set up and will quite happily do end overs. If its got the standard servo horn setup for throttle brake, then the spring can go weak affecting both throttle and braking but you will most likely only notice poor braking. The mid tank lean is a pain but not every one suffers from it and tuniing can play a big part in how it affects it, mine doesn't suffer it to badly, sometimes stalls at wot but then why by a mt for high speed use.
  20. Don't think they fit a savage as they for e-zilla 1/10 scale I think, also on road tyre, soft compound
  21. Well then how bout uk seller, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220945738158?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D220945738158%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_6989wt_922 Upto you in the end, there's other tx rx sets you can get, but not as cheap though with the same features
  22. Well that guy sends by airmail so you should get it soon enough, like I said mine was order Sunday and came Friday so in theory same should apply to you if you order it.
  23. Heres a link to the guy I got mine from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200586615962?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D200586615962%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
