  1. Also, I know it's more money but investing in a proper charger is a good thing. The stock pocket wall charger takes around 3 to 4 hours to charge the battery that comes with it (2700 mah for the carnage) so if you get a better bigger capacity battery it's going to do your head in waiting 5 or 6 hours. I bought this charger and a lot of forum members use it. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/core-rc/chargers/rc-car-categories/9920/992030&ManufacturerID=1140
  2. Yes they can both use the same batteries as they have identical electronics but are you sure you want to go 3S? 2S is plenty fast and it will likely be more durable. Up to you of course but I'd stick to 2S. I have that in my FTX Edge and it's still mental.
  3. Nice one mate, you did a better job of taping the shell than I did! Glad you had fun.
  4. Get some lipos in there ASAP, for more runtime aswell as more power. You will need a lipo capable charger for this.
  5. Wow that's REALLY strange. I was thinking this morning about my old RC car when I was a kid. It was very similar to that, pick up type thing but possibly smaller wheels, and don't think it had the fake engine sticking out. Had the same fast/slow switch and I absolutely LOVED it! Wonder what happened to it? I probably last saw it in 1990 ish. Nice find! Still have the original battery for it?

    Speed

What ESC/motor/battery are you using in your Macnum to get those speeds?
  7. Wow I've seen lots of TT footage over the years but that is probably the best. Thanks for sharing.
  8. The ESC in the RS2 has built in lipo cut off, so no need for an alarm. It just slows down and then stops.
  9. Is the RTR just as awkward to get the battery out? I saw that Jang blokes review on the kit version and he basically said he couldn't recommend it as it's a total nightmare installing/uninstalling the battery. Maybe it's been changed on the RTR.
  10. It would definitely get you a brushless buggy, things like the Team Associated RC10 B4.1 are
  11. The FTX Edge RTR brushed is only
  12. We've been amazing in the track cycling. New world record again in the womens pursuit.
  13. Click on the 'little images' and they become big images...
  14. You mean when you try and turn the back wheels it's hard to turn? Only one way to find out I guess, assuming you've checked it's not the wheels binding from overtightness.
  15. I put rear preload clips on the rear which raised it up at the back, stopped it dragging it's rear on the floor under acceleration as it's really saggy at the back end. Traxxas ones were what I bought.
  16. I have the Overlander 3900 lipo which comes with leads pre soldered, it's a softcase but it's been fine and is strapped down tightly in my buggy and the RS2 so no problems there. MS recommended it too. Edit! Seems it doesn't come presoldered with connectors anymore. I'm sure I didn't pay for them to be done, but my memories hazy so maybe I did.
  17. Sorry, didn't see the Core recommendation post above.
  18. I use the Core UAC50 charger and it's great. No external power supply needed.
  19. Yep, absolutely, just thought I'd pass on the tip from experience. Especially the tight wheels as that would sap power and battery life.
  20. Check all the wheelnuts, I found them to be overtightened, so much on one wheel it was almost locked solid.
  21. Yep, lightly cable tie the ESC down if I were you. Not tight at all, just enough to stop it coming off. I've re-taped my nephew's down with sticky servo tape as it came off. It's a fast fun truck but not sure it's competitve for racing at all, I doubt it. But not sure many clubs even race truggy's do they? I might be wrong though. As a basher it's decent but definitely duct tape the inside of the shell up, with the stock bumper being so small the front end in particularly can bend so much in a front end crash it's guaranteed to smash.
  22. There's no such car as a Losi B4.1. It's a Team Associated, not a Losi. You're the same guy who dismissed anything by FTX as 'cr*p', and you don't actually have any RC cars, so with respect I'd let others give advice if I were you.
  23. What you hear and what is reality are two different things. Saying they are cr*p is a sweeping statement. Yes FTX are slightly 'budget' and some people have problems but that's often the case with many makes, judging by what you read on here. My FTX Edge brushless has been great, fast and reliable.
