+1 --- Bearings should last, as long as they are lubricated and not being subjected to a load other than what they are designed for.

+1 easy to carry around, and just poke it in the top of the engine to get the temp..

you could use the lead, but you will need to put resistors in to the circuit with led's, as even the extra bright ones tend to be a max of 3.6v

Looks to me like the servo is too far away from the axle, the steering linkage is loosing a lot of the travel moving backwards and forwards instead of left and right - hence less steering

Cheers Guys, Looks like I am going to have to strip the motor, the drive mechanism on the car all moves freely with no tight spots, so it is definatly the motor. I will strip it later (and clean with some switch cleaner)

i have blown it through with some wd40, and then spun it up - no differance. I did remove it from the car, and it still needs a nudge to start turning, might give it a go with some GT5 later. Thanks though, Suppose the next step is to "carefully" open it up and check it is clean. It must be said, for a rally car the motor is not in the best place, I think I will need to build a sheild for it, as it is open to the underside of the car. there is plenty of space in the shell for airflow so should not overheat.

I have recently obtained a new Carisma M40s with the audi quattro body. I have used it about 5 times and a problem has occured. The motor will not start without a slight nudge. Tapping the can also makes it start. At first I thought it may have been the esc, but even the slightest tap sets the motor running at even low revs, and as log as it does not stop it responds to any changes in throttle as I would expect. Any ideas?

I knew this year was going to be good for Rally cars!!! Looks Like I have something else for the wish list now.

I put "zip" ties on the body pins so they are easier to handle. I use velcro strips as Cable ties though as they are easier to undo to move cables around.......

Bugger all in the manual, just about manges to tell you how to set up the esc, with a few errors in translation.

Just got the Carisma Audi Quattro, as I fancied a rally car. Comes with a number of extra bits and pieces, like Plastic disks for making a course. Also in a separate plastic bag was this... I am stumped as to what it is, Initially I thought it could be a 2 part stand, or possiby some form of cover for internals. It seems to be 2 seperat things, as there is a mould line down the middle that looks as if you are supposed to seperate the 2 shapes... am I missing something obvious? They went to the trouble of bagging it and including it, so it must have some use...
