  1. the next couple fo weeks are supposed to be very nice, hopefully will be nice and still too for my first few goes. I'm lucky in that the guy that will train me also has a trainer program for the PC, so ive been able to fly (and crash) the plane a few times already, even before it was delivered
  2. tbh i don't know exactly where the sites are just that he flies at those two places. can't wait to get it up in the air now.
  3. I'll probably start at Beaulieu or Hurn because that is where a mate flies and he is going to teach me. after that I'm hoping to fly at Bishops Waltham because the flying site is walking distance from my house shame the club is full now for this year.
  4. £25 customs charge later and i have my plane. I'll be building tonight and flying as soon as I can
  5. damn it. my planes' delivery status was updated this morning with. "Released by customs - Charges to be paid" nuts
  6. 36 with a wife and two kids. Mid thirties seem to be a good age to re-discover this hobby. enough cash to keep buying the stuff you need and old enough to realise that playing with toys is fine
  7. Ran on a wet beach for the first time last week. Wow, the inevitable rust is worth it!

  8. I think its personal preference most people use pull for throttle and push for brake but there is nothing to say that you shouldn't have it the other way around.
  9. too bloomin right 4ch 2.4ghz tx/tx, battery, charger, brushless motor, servos the lot. 1.4m wing span, it's HUGE
  10. this one .... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=16542 can't complain for less than £100 delivered.
  11. well RC cars are fun so RC planes should be fun too!! so i've just ordered a noob plane from Hobbyking, i can't wait. Are there any fliers in the Southampton area on here? I'm planning on flying near Bishops Waltham.
  12. I've got the DF02 which is the 4wd version I think. it's got a 9T 60A hobbywing system in it and it is fantastic. the drive train is bullet proof (all i have had to upgrade is the main drive shaft as the stock one was too soft). have a look you might like it. i had it at the bash but it didn't make it onto anyone's videos. building it was huge fun, I'm dead set on my next car being a kit so I can build another one.
  13. go for it mate. I'll be running mid week next week. won't be the same without you there.
  14. sweet, thanks AJ. I'll do some investigating into the normal Vs ESE differences. you can have your thread back now
