  1. I agree with the others, I've had my TT 4.6 for about 2 years and wouldn't go so far as to call it fragile, but it is definitely easy enough to break on standard power. 6S would destroy it I reckon.
  2. Lol, I think the moral of the story is that they just aren't designed for that sort of power!
  3. I can imagine, I killed a couple of sets of rubber tyres and there seems to be an awful lot of powdery residue in my gearboxes after a week with the BL setup!
  4. Just to report back, on my last Modelsport order, I picked up a cheap ESC and 20T motor and I can drift now, ok, let me re-phrase that, the car is driftable now! Could actually use a little more power, I will prolly grab a 15T Firebolt on the next order, but my conclusion is the 6.5T was just far too mental for drifting, or at least for learning to drift with.
  5. I think they are just the normal ones mate.
  6. I use Turnigy 2S 5200mah and they do fine.
  7. Brilliant, I need to dig mine out!
  8. Cheers guys, I have lowered everything as far as possible, It's pouring now, but I'm going to give it a try somewhere smoother, like Morrisons car park!
  9. Rear diff was locked by stuffing blue roll in it, and all 4 tyres are drifters, don't have different grades of springs, but screwed the back ones down a bit to stiffen them compared to the front. I managed to drift to a certain degree with my savage flux with home made drift tyres, but I can't seem consistently control the tendency of the TT-01 for the back end to want to overtake the front. I seem to be having the same problem as bigseal888 did with the brushless setup, I think I'll try to pick up an ESC and try againg with the silver can motor.
  10. I've bent a couple of front shock towers on my Vorza, one with repeated bad landings from 50 odd foot jumps off a pipe, and the other in a hard head on collision with a losi 5ive which actually left a bit of losi wishbone embedded in my front shock. No issues during normal running though, and you can always hammer them flat again. Never thought of doubling them up, I'll maybe have a look for longer screws and give that a try, just for peace of mind.
  11. I got the 3racing ones for about the same and they seem ok. My TT-01 runs really nice on rubber tyres, well fast and turns in nice, but I can't seem to make it drift nicely on fastrax drift tyres, it just wants to spin out, even with my throttle travel turned down to 40 out of 150, I think the 6.5t might just be too much for it. Probablt the fact that I don't have a nice smooth surface isn't helping though?
  12. The Tamiya is 1:10, the HPI is 1:8, so there is a fair bit of difference in size, and a severe lack of shells for the HPI. I really like the look of the Wr8 Flux though.
  13. Lovely! My best mate is a spray painter and has airbrushes etc, I'm planning on doing a few shells in the near future.
  14. Thanks man. What have you done to yours to make it drift well?
  15. Well that's it up and running, it's insanely rapid! Had a quick wee go on the drift tyres with the power backed right down, but didn't seem to have much control, I'll need to try locking the diff I think.
