I had one, I thought it always felt really cheap, always worked and I never had any issues with the working of it but there again I never dropped it, I use a couple of 3vcs tranny combos now and to say they are both made by futaba the difference is chalk and cheese the 3vcs is quicker response and a lot smoother in performance also you can alter loads more stuff for your setup. May not be what you wanted to hear buddy but it's my honest opinion, hope you get yourself sorted.

Are you crazy os and Bullitt engines are the best on the planet and if looked after last three or four seasons of racing without a pinch , I still have an original os speed with the red lettering and it's done at least ten gallons and still holds it weight and goes like stink, i don't know what you did to yours but it must have been severe. If go are so good why do they give you a new con rod in the kit to fit after a gallon of fuel ?. No other engine manufacturer needs to do it.

To be honest I have never had a problem with them indoors or out doors , I have used them on a 3vc, 3vcs and an old ff3 and all worked well with the corona, but I can accept all units are not identical, hope this helps you.

IF HE IS FIVE I WOULD START HIM OFF ON A 12 VRX ALLOY CHASSIS SO HE WONT BREAK IT AND AS HE GETS BETTER YOU CAN UPGRADE TO THE LATER CARBON UNITS AS NEARLY ALL THE PARTS ARE INTERCHANGABLE, START HIM ON A BRUSHED SYSTEM AND THEN AGAIN WHEN HE GETS BETTER GET HIM A BRUSHLESS SETUP. A LOT OF DADS START THE KIDS OFF WITH REALLY GOOD CARS THINKING THEY ARE DOING THE BEST THING BUT REALLY THEY ARE NOT , THEY ARE WAY TO FAST FOR THEM AND THEY END UP CRASHING THEM AND SPEND MORE TIME BEING MARSHALLED AND OFF THE TRACK BECAUSE THEY JUST CANNOT CONTROL THEM THUS THEN LOSING INTEREST , SLOW IS GOOD FOR YOUNG KIDS IT BRINGS THEM ON. I CAN SORT HIM OUT WHICH EVER WAY YOU GO APART FROM A CHARGER AND RADIO GEAR, DAVE.

What's your budget buddy, is he going to run brushed or brushless and is he gonna run supastox or hot rod with the 4.8 nimh batts?.
