  1. I have both an ansmann virus 2 and a hobao hyper 7 the latter of which i bought as a second hand roller (buggy without engine servos or radio gear) whilst i would say it is relatively easy to buy a roller and add the parts yourself if you are a complete newbie i would go for a ready to run car and would say that the hyper 7 would be the better choice if you look around on the net i think you can get a brand new one for about
  2. I have both an ansmann virus 2 and a hobao hyper 7 and would say that the hyper is the better buggy. the other option is to buy a hyper 7 roller (buggy without engine radio gear or servos as the problem with buying second hand is the engine may be worn. i bought a roller on ebay for
  3. if it bothers you that much its only a couple of quid to replace the front bearing. apparently running an engine rich can cause slight leaks from the front bearing
  4. sounds like it could be tuning problem hsn possibly too rich
  5. your supposed to use a fly wheel puller but i just put a screwdriver in between flywheel anf engine body and carefully lever it off one side then the other pullstart shouldnt unwind unless you take it apart
  6. same here 5 tanks then tune it but not wot for long periods for another tank full
  7. did you get this for a tun then
  8. i use optifuel 25% it has a good oil content and is much cheaper than byrons and far superior to model technics
  9. another thing you might find is after a while the steering may be quite a bit play on the steering all you do is glue the plastic parts together and this will make the steering sharper
  10. honest m8 i have a hyper 7 which i bought as a roller i put a lrp z21r engine in it paid £100 from my lms it goes like a rocket easy to tune and has loads of torque its absoloutley brilliant http://www.nitro-rc.co.uk/radio-controlled-model/LRP-Nitro-Engine-Z-21R-Spec-2-Pullstart.html
  11. ca you get the piston and liner for decet price
  12. good on ya m8 nitro much more interesting
  13. apparently you can even get 2 speed clutch bells with different amounts of teeth. the less amount of teeth the more acceleration the more teeth the better the top apeed. have you changed the front diff yet
  14. just to let you know if you burn out the piston and liner it will cost you about £50 to buy . a new engine from modelsport will cost about £135.i bought a brand new one off ebay for £45 yes that was a brand new full engine
  15. if you are considering doing this one up i would recommend the following as i bought a hyper roller and used these. engine lrp z21r approx £95 goes like stink servos power hd mg1501 approx £18 each 17kg of torque
  16. someone may correct me if im wrong but i believe that the bigger the engine the colder the plug. your buggy will run happily on 25% even 30% but you may need a shim in the cylinder head if you use 30%. personally i would use 25% which is what i use in both my buggys. I use optifuel as it has a good oil content.as for tuning take note of where both needles are set to now and then try setting them yourself. it sounds like you need to richen the hsn a tad. turn it anticlockwise 1/16 turn at a time until it stops bogging. i have attached a link for you to look at
  17. i also found that with a new engine it was easier to take the filter off and pour a little bit of fuel down the carb
  18. preference basically i use optifuel due to the price it is a good fuel although a little smoky byrons gen 2 is good but pricey. i have also used monster car juice which is also good
  19. power hd in both my buggies never had a problem still going strong after 9 months
  20. or even this one if you want to go really mad its still less than £183 http://www.nitro-rc.co.uk/radio-controlled-model/LRP-Nitro-Engine-ZR-30-Spec-2-Pullstart.html
  21. bit expensive m8 if your not racing try this one i have the z21r and it goes like stink look at the hp on this one http://www.nitro-rc.co.uk/radio-controlled-model/LRP-Nitro-Engine-Z-28R-Spec-3-Pullstart.htmlhttp ://www.nitro-rc.co.uk/radio-controlled-model/LRP-Nitro-Engine-Z-21R-Spec-2-Pullstart.html
  22. sounds like your idle needle needs to be turned out slightly this should be the one tucked away on the carb somewhere not the one on the end of the bellows as this is the low speed needle.if your not sure post us some pics
  23. i would go for these as they appear to have deeper tread and should last longer but as i say if you wheelspin and slide all tytres will wear http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ansmann-racing-buggy-wheels-and-tyres-lp-street-black/rc-car-products/35897
  24. thats why i thought id better buy it lol. just lost out on an os the other day lol
