  1. I have a TeamC TC02 roller with a spare chassis for
  2. Dom, I have a TA03 RS chassis that may be up for grabs if you want this 4wd
  3. The old TEU-101 is probably the smoothest of the Tamiya esc's, and has 100% reverse too. The later 104's have 50% if I remember right. Both will handle the truck puller motor with ease,
  4. Not really, Tamiya's ones come as a part of the Long Arm kit but are splined hex fittings. To be honest I prefer the dog bone set up for ease or repair.
  5. If fitting brushless, then fit a steel gear set from the off, axial or Robinson racing. There is a cheaper new set out too but I can't find the link at the minute. Fit a slash 32dp 54t spur gear and a 12t pinion When building the props, fill the void in the male halves with a rod or dowel (not too tight or it will cause the props to bind and you'll never get it out if you need access to the screw that holds the ends on) and use a cut off piece of one of the spare female parts to sleeve the exposed male one to add strength and prevent them from collapsing on themselves. Maybe look at alloy front hubs,C's and rear lock outs, go axial or vanquish as the others can be a bit hit or miss on quality. Fit a separate BEC, I only use castle ones and have never been let down, and go for the strongest servo you can, at least 20kg+ on 6v. (Hitec 7450/7455 on mine and my sons. Other than that, you should be okay. From here I would just upgrade as things break.
  6. Try it with rally blocks first, you want between 10 and 14mm ground clearance under the chassis, if it's still too low then try moving the shocks or fitting longer eyelets to the bottoms before you buy a new set. Your diff gears should be fine, try the combo in it before you go off looking for the alloy motor mount, it's getting rare and expensive these days. You may find your car is already fitted with the long arm hop up, does it have cvd's all round or dog bones? You should be able to find a dust cover, TeamBlueGroove in Canada make repro ones.
  7. Matt, the NSX TB01 should have the lighter plastic diff gears and the alloy or carbon prop, plus shorter shocks. It also had the quicker gear set for racing and no inner body that you get with the rally cars.
  8. They are half the price they were last year.
  9. http://www.hobbyking.com/mobile/viewproduct.asp?idproduct=19692 I use these in most of mine. The pack is 5mm longer than the usual Nimh packs and is ridged at the bottom so is a tight fit in things like TA01's and TA03's. But at the price you just can't knock it.
  10. Might be worth asking Martin if it's any good for his van.
  11. Axials own kit is really good, as is Vanquish and Hot Racing. Intergy kit is very hit and miss, more miss really..
  12. I have a few cars I'm selling, if they go then I would like this. I'm over your way for the Scale Nats next weekend.
  13. Seeing as I love what you did to,,,, well, what ever your Wraith/Exo/Slash/Kitchen sink hybrid, and it seems Axial took notice and built one that even impressed you, then it must be as good as they say. I'm not a lover of the stock wheels, it needs something stronger I think.
  14. Look for a New Bright Discovery, you can pick one up for
  15. Xg279,,, horrid smelly stuff. Best left in land rovers and trucks where it belones,
  16. Think it works out around a 9-13t brushed equivalent, but they perform so much better off the line.
  17. Bt vision is good, as long as you are in an area that has better than 3meg download. They do two fibre speed packages depending how close you are to the street cabinet too. Plus you get BT sport for footy and motor racing, Check here. http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ This will tell you if your cabinet is fibre enabled, and of not when it should be done.
  18. Any trades you could be looking for?
  19. To run brushless, you really need to run Lipo to get the best from it. If you are happy with the speed you were getting, then look at around 4300kv motor, or around 8.5t. For more torque, 13.5t will do, only a touch slower but should be a little easier to control. The thing to remember is the motors have much more torque so you get off the line much quicker.
  20. Dave, are these the really soft tyres? I have torn a couple of these on my brushless one. Tamiyas tyres are stronger, but for looks you can't beat HPI Pirelli patterns. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-pirelli-t-rally-tire-26mm-d-compound-2pcs-/rc-car-products/13712
  21. Might be worth getting a couple of ferrite rings and possibly re routing the aerial on the receiver. Sounds like you may be getting some interference too.
  22. Dave, small balloons and cable ties with a blob of blue tack in the neck of the balloon. Works on all my scale off road rigs and they get drenched, a lot!!
  23. Just a thought (again), check the crystals on your radio gear are in the right way (t in TX and r in the receiver) and the batteries in your TX are good. Also check your receivers aerial for damage. It could be that the ESC's are tripping due to a confused or no signal from the RX.
  24. I wonder if the new motor is faulty causing the ESC's to trip.
