  1. Hi, Just woundering what tamiya chassis this is... Going through our rc collection from many years ago, ready for and RC day a club of ours is doing. Thanks alot! Mike
  2. looking good, although why did you put cover sills back on?
  3. I got my dad an Anderson M5 for christmas last year. Its great fun, especially with the brushless kit in it. The rear wheel is solid as it has a gyro in it, and although it looks like a toy, its still engineered well. That Faor is extremeley sexy, but i think i'd want alot of practice with the M5 to get use with little stabilty aid!
  4. Thanks. Can you only get tamiya paint in 150ml? Thanks alot, Mike
  5. Hi, After a few months on and off we have now fiished building our HPI Baja We've decided on white paint, but need to know how much to buy and whats best? Links would be good too Its the Baja 5SC, so the body is pretty big, and would've thought would require quite abit of paint! If this is better in the petrol section, please move it Thanks alot, Mike
  6. Looking good, Dad's got a TD5 defender, and it is suprising how much difference a good re map makes! He's also got a big intercooler, de cat pipe and is about to fit a variable vain turbo to it. Another cheap thing you could change is the air flow sensor, made a huge difference (apparently the oil from the foam filter he has, damages the sensor), but as something relativley cheap, and often go anyway on TD5's, might be worth doing Goes well already, especially for 'dirty diesel power' Keep up the good work
  7. Hi guys! At the moment i play GT5 with my logitech driving force GT, and am looking to upgrade to a G27 as i'd love a clutch and the H pattern gear changer On my driving force GT i can adjust traction control, brake bias, amount of power going to the rear and front wheels ect with the red knob (no thats what she said please ) and buttons on the wheel, and was just woundering whether you can do the same on the G27? Been looking around on G27 features and could find out about this Thanks alot, Mike
  8. Im pretty set on the Rhino digi 4... looks good, fast and torque'y - for the steering. And also set on the savox 1256 for the throttle. Does it require a braket making to fit the Rhino? No problem if it does, just woundering before i buy one
  9. hi, Havnt posted on here in ages! Just got back into RC a couple of weeks ago when are mini club held a rc day in an old plane hanger. I have just ordered a HPI baja 5SC SS. In the combo buy, it only suggested 1 servo, so does it come with one? Didnt go with the combo buy in the end, as it was confusing and proved pointless. So, I need two servos. Whats best? Preferably with a link too Also, is there anything i need to look out for? common problems etc? Thanks alot, Mike
  10. some of the panels we wanted are not reproduced by other companies. On our mini all we are going to have is heritage panels, and not may repair panels used. Here are the panels we plan to use- Floor - Complete lenght, complete with outer sills and jacking points. Also heel board Bulkhead - to the first joint, includes the rack mount Both Rear quaters Both rear inner arches Inner wings - complete length, with scuttle closing panels, and A panels. Complete eidth scuttle Outer wings Hopefully try and save the front panels, as it doesnt seem too old. Fibreglass boot and bonnet. And by the time we buy all of that, we wont have any money left to spend on the engine

    Minis!

sounds cool. My boss used to make minis, on the production lines. He has some pretty interesting stories. we are going to buy all heritage panels. Its real handy, the nearest mini spares (that stock all heritage panels) are only 2 mins up the road!

    Minis!

i havnt done much to my mini, and havnt been on here for a while. on may the 26th (wich must have been when i was last online, as i liked the above comment) i was at work, and at 12 o'clock was severly injuried after being hit by an out of control, speeding vauxhall corsa I was stood on the forecourt (i work at a garage) when it happened, looking for another workers inhaler. Her car was hit when she was sat in it, the corsa also took out all 4 petrol pumps, twisted the canopy poles, and dragged me 25 yards along the forecourt! Unfortanatly, the woman corsa driver was killed. But atleast im still here to tell the story. Anyway, change of subject. Bought a load more panels for my mini, just need to be welded in now. Oh, and arnt heritage panels expensive!?
  13. A real pain when they get down your shirt aswell! im 15 and also restoring a mini. Just bought a full heritage boot floor, rear valance, subframe strengthening paltes including vanalnce closing panels, and a full width hinge panel! now needs to be welded in... sounds easy hows your project coming along?
  14. looking good, some new number plates will lift the look loads. Prehaps stamped aluminium ones?

see when it last had pistion and rings fitted, if the bottom end has been rebuilt. when how many owners, then start it up and listen to the engine, it should not tick over and should need a constant vroom vroom on the throttle. oh and btw they are not cheap tyres and pistion sets cost a small fortune

thanks tamiya. It says in the description it needs a tyre, but im not too bothered about that to be honest. I only want it as a toy, not doing anything serious with it. Are the engines prone to need new piston and rings often?

I'd love a straight cut gearbox in my mini, or even just some drop gears as theyre cheaper. They sound lovely! Go on, get another mini... you know you wnat too
