  1. Got them, first impressions - much better made than i thought, went through all with some thread lock, and they all seem to have be thread locked already. added a little more grease to the diffs as there was only the slightest whiff of lube. Diff gears mesh really nice, not tight, no slop of any kind, bearings are good. - in fact, they seem so far to operate a lot smoother than the stock axles. yet to take it out and hit them, but so far there are no regrets. will check back once i have given them a beating.
  2. dont know dude, had a lot of stuff from china that has been really quite nice and super cheap. - they do however only pay there staff pence per hour....
  3. as above, anyone had any experience with these? fairly cheap i thought, and all kinda look the same, i know they are not gonna be the greatest, but they gotta be stronger than stock? ebay link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CNC-Aluminum-Front-Rear-Axle-with-Steel-Gear-for-1-10-RC-Crawler-D90-Car-V5O1/202698024401?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57478%26meid%3Df523f3b2e2af46418a5ebb2d6fc5f70e%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D382882157635%26itm%3D202698024401%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  4. got an old i3 clone, and got so frustrated after months of trial and error, i bought a genuine Prusa MK3. made the whole experience much more enjoyable. but i now spend hours at the PC messing with parts.... next large project is to make body panels....
  5. the benefit of owning a 3d printer.... you can make a lot of your own scale parts, i have just started makiung a new front bumper for my Mauler. which stayed stock all the way home in its box. anyone else tried making there own 3d printed parts? i know that most of the parts im currently making are WAY beefier that the OE parts. trying to keep the cost down as much as i can too.... any suggestion on parts?
  6. Hi guys, just moved to Sheffield from the Isle of Man, was wondering where people go to bash? nitro/electric. i have seen there is a couple of outdoor tracks within 20 miles, but it looks like they are all electric. have seen on a facebook group i think that people used the bole hills BMX track? thanks for the help.
  7. hi guys, just bought one today, with the immediate intention of not leaving it alone. mostly i have a bunch of other projects that this mauler is going to be parted out for.... but it would be a shame to not play a bit first. - i do have one immediate concern with it, on the rear diff, and chassis connection there is a very flexible plastic part both holding the axle in postion and dealing with the torque. on the front axle, this is connected to the steering servo plate and is made a lot stronger. im going to just 3d print a brace for it and see how it goes, but it seems to me kinda crappy design. - i also had to adjust the front suspension links so that the servo clears the battery tray... also, has anyone messed with putting slightly larger shocks on it? not massive, id start worrying about the prop popping out, but maybe 5/10mm longer? thanks guys
  8. with that engine i would imagine it would turn into an aircraft. you would never be able to keep it on the ground. and i think they are a bit big for the mounting plates. i think.
  9. Ha! i actually had a similar situation to this not so long ago, after the "warden" told me not to use my nitro because there was a by-law in effect, i asked him to provide details, knowing (and i checked!) that there were no bylaws, he became very abusive and threatening and told me if i continued using it he would take it off me, (quite ballsy as he was about 5 foot tall, mid 50's and litterally half the size of myself ( 6' 18 stone 27 year old) ) so naturally i continued to use the it, and he actually tried to knock the controller out of my hand, to which i kindy (which also wound him up) asked him to not try again, so he went after the car. Now, have you ever seen a small man chase after a nitro car? if id had my phone on me i would have recorded it but he gave up on that after about 15 seconds. he walked off after that but about 15 mins later the police showed up, and i explained the situation (baring in mind at no point was i abusive) i explained that i have checked for such bylaws and none exsisted. and they were actually really good about it and ended up talking to him about it for ages, but they asked me to stop for the time being while they checked it out. so i did, and the warden was really pleased that i had been stopped. i got a phone call from the officer that dealt with it about 3 hours later apologising for the hassle and telling me in fact there was no bylaw. so guess what i did?, made a special trip right back up to the park and continued bashing. the police are not going to arrest anyone for using a remote controlled vehicle, unless you are using it in a dangerous manner. even if there is a bylaw, in most cases you will be politly asked to "move along"
  10. having not used any other brand of plug, im quite happy with this thread, at least im doing something right.
  11. my local model shop guy has told me to use a heavier shock oil aswell, about a 50wt (i thought this was causing my issue) so im gonna try it, and if it bursts, im just gonna glue the bottom shock caps on, i have a spare pair of rear shocks, so dont really mind if i damage them.
  12. right! im getting pretty tired of the stock HPI Shocks bursting everytime i go over a jump, i have already upgraded to the Blue rear springs, but its still not hard enough, the back always squats down a lot under acceleration, and slams when jumping. if i put a lower wieght shock oil in it doesnt dampen enough, but too much and it pops the bottom cap off (i presume because of the harder spring rebound and the fact i am using the supplied plastic shims to further boost the preload) so, my question is, without costing me a kidney, are there any shocks that i can use to upgrade? or possibly modify to add another pair, of shocks? cheers!
  13. well i'll be damned, it seems to work. had it going for about 7-8 mins, couple of full throttle runs and engine was still spinning. cut out twice but that was due to me not setting throttle linkage right, but even when it did cut out it restarted right away! its never done that before, normally had to wait 10 mins for it to cool down.
  14. cheers mate! lets just hope the thing runs better now eh? sick of it dying every 5 minutes lol
  15. Hi guys, Got a T-15 engine in the old rush evo, and am having overheating problems (no matter what it was tuned like), i noticed the cylinder head was not sitting flush with the crank case, to decided to tear down and noticed oil underneath/around the gasket seat - so it wasnt sealing correctly - pulled the gasket/shim of the cylinder head button and now sits flush, is this going to cause a problem? or should i put anther washer under the glow plug to restore the correct compression? cheers
