  1. Looking much better in silver. I notice you used some metal glue that I have stashed in the garage, did it work well on the engine? Don't quote me but I think the mesh you used is a little course? It's certainly an improvement on mine as I haven't done it yet but I think most people use mesh a little courser than a sieve?
  2. Blimey! Sound info but that stuff is not NEEDED. Killswitch should be top of your list along with a good radio naturally, you need to be able to tame the beast. The rest can be upgraded or modded as things get broken. Oh and for the original question I bought a slightly modded Baja SS 2nd hand from a member off here. Always well modded bajas coming up on here, be careful with ebay ones which aren't local as a well positioned picture and well worded ad can hide a multitude of sins! I bought the HPI baja as i wanted something that was easily upgradeable and as with anything I buy I prefer the genuine article.
  3. As title I'm after a Futaba R603FS reciever in perfect working order, not bothered if the aerial is damaged as I have spares. Cheers.
  4. That red looks great and the finish on those innovative parts looks good. Whats with the blue p clips on the window and blue filler cap, you need to colour code them! Your brake linkage issue sounds like you just need to loosen it off or reposition the servo horn, I spent an hour sorting out my yama dude linkage the other week perfecting it's functions.
  5. Steering links are great, the SS ones had bent and buckled with only moderate crashes so a great upgrade, just a bit trickier to adjust. Cheers.
  6. Quick vid of engine running properly now, finally set the idle properly too.
  7. I'm afraid I don't know the settings but if you have your manual it should have the starter settings of if you search your engine on google you can find the factory settings that way.
  8. Love the RC vid, some smart driving in there even if there is editing enhancement. Does make me want a little electric though. Solberg vid is naturally awesome.
  9. Reposition the kill switch in the radio box so I can see the LED if/when it's activated.
  10. I don't think the range is all it could be on my Futaba 3PM-X with R603FF receiver. When I bought the set 2nd hand the Rx receiver had been replaced with a bit of single core wire soldered to the antenna base, I rectified this with the correct aerial but still dont' think the range is all that, maybe 60-70m What kind of range are other people getting with this combo? Is my receiver working correctly or is it faulty in which case is it worth while upgrading to the R603FS. Or are there any other makes of receiver that are compatible. Cheers.
  11. Here's there website http://www.novarcpro....com/index.html But i can't find there stuff for sale anywhere!? Maybe another company is making them now but there's no Nova products on ebay, you might have to look out on US RC classifieds. Sealing the engine was always on my todo list. Could be cheeky and ask to buy this guys.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thunder-Tiger-S50-Sledgehammer-like-MGT-8-0-/221190166022?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item337ff61606
  12. Overheating can be down to running the engine too lean though. Although I bought a Nova cooling head for mine which helped it's restart time a lot after doing a tank. Mine had the 2.4ghz kit in it which I had no issues with, think I replaced the switch at 1 point. Naturally upgraded the steering servo but used the old steering for the throttle without problems. Never replaced wheels or clutch though in the time I had it went through 2 gallons before I sold. I wasn't gentle with mine at all, chucked it off cliffs MX bike jumps, car park ramps the lot! I think there's a vid link in my build thread link in my sig. Sounds like you have been unlucky as mine was a dream to own and they have a huge following in the US. Body posts were a weak point, I just replaced them with nylon rod so they had a bit more give.
  13. Worst RC you have bought!? Mine was awesome only sold it as 1/5 petrol was always my dream to have and once I had it no need for nitro. But my S50 always started easily and used a tank before stalling, found it very reliable.
  14. Today I corrected my idle and steering set up on my Baja. Now it sits still and ticks over without trying to take off and the front wheels are equal. Bring on the next bash!
  15. I run tarmax busters up front and Hostile All-Terrain on the rear for on-road mainly because the AT's were going cheap 2nd hand at the time.
  16. I chucked a 2nd hand Hi-Tec 5755 MG in mine, provides fast enough steering and very strong, had to tighten up the servo saver a lot compared to the HPI one.
  17. Indeed it is, sorry Richard must of skipped over your post. Good looking and sounding pipe with some nice power behind it. Don't judge the cars power/speed in that vid as the fuel lines were the wrong way round....
  18. Agreed the Flysky looks more like a toy rather than a tool. Certainly impressive features and like he pointed out I love how it illustrates what your changing. Only downside is I can see that screen getting damaged quickly.
  19. The other thing to consider is buying 2nd hand alloy is a gamble, it might be on it's last legs and severely bend on the next crash or have hairline cracks. You might be better off treating yourself to new.
  20. I have 1 of these. http://www.mmrlarges...RCDDMFD612.html Very well protected with uber bumper, nothing can get at it. Sound wise it's quieter and a deeper sound than a clone dom (my last pipe). Not running correctly in the vid but you get an idea of the noise....
  21. New fuel lines, wire clamps on the carb and the DS connectors, much happier with it now.
  22. I bought mine 2nd hand from this forum with a few nice little upgrades. Unless I could view a baja on ebay to see it run then I don't think I would buy 2nd hand off there. Well angled pictures can hide multiply problems easily.
  23. I had to go out to the garage in the (slight) wind and rain but my mind can now rest! On the stock fuel line set up, black is feed and clear is return. But on the snappy 2nd hand fuel line kit I bought it had been setup with clear feed and black return. So it's only this running session where it was plumbed in backwards and not my entire petrol history. Explains the rough running really.
