  1. +1 for the Bondhus, I use mine for all of my mechanical needs. All hail the Gorilla.
  2. Sounds like a gasket problem, or possible loose head screw? A quick test would be to get a spray bottle, fill it with water and washing up liquid, then spray your engine all over. Run the engine (car off the ground) and look for the bubbling to appear. Hope that helps?
  3. If you are running on a stock engine, then stick with your basic wilko oil mate. At the end of the day, these are strimmer enginges and can take a good pounding. They are not GP bikes that depend specific ratios (I used to ride 2 strokes )
  4. Mine split whilst tugging on the pull-start. Avoid!
  5. Thanks carl, it is a shame to see it just sit there, hence the sale topic. It is a beautiful motor.
  6. I have not got a great deal of time to take this bad boy out these days and have been thinking of down-scaling to a crawler or 1:8 leccy? I am willing to split the speccy radio gear, which has no problems at all but do understand the bias others may have... So if anyone can give a price for
  7. I use a cheap wilkos brand dremel. Works fine and smooths off the corners
  8. Bought a random bag of random brake parts for 20quid posted, the picture in the sale had something very intriguing so took the punt... Inside the parcel I found these... http://rc-car-online.de/shop/en/products/y0056-ht-baja-5b-ss-premium-front-disk-brake-y0056-set.html That was back when they were selling at the RRP too
  9. What made you go for the v2 TR plate bud? I would have thought that the v1 for the stock clutch carrier would have suited you better, considering the issue you had before.
  10. Well it's been absolutely ages since I last updated this and my Baja has gone under even changes since Gone is the crappy KM shell and so is the undertray, although I am planning on cutting it up to make a belly plate. There have been a few redesigns too, most noticeably the Proline desert rat truggy shell, thanks to norcoforever. For me, she is almost finished. In the new year I will be looking at getting some beefed up shocks and I want to experiment with gearing, after that I will have my own perfect RC. Until the next one

  13. Dinning room. I have a decent sized table which helps to have all of my parts spread out for maintenance
  14. Looking nice and dirty there mate! Good to see those tyres are getting some use at last
  15. From anyone else I would say steer clear, but RC car online are a pretty decent shop (as you may already know) and they stock spares too. It looks like a nice little truggy.
  16. IRL stuff : 73927 - ME:0

  17. Very true, she can yank your pull start
  18. Welcome to the forum mate, I'm a fellow notts Baja basher. Baja's are blinding cars you can't go wrong with them. Which side of notts are you? There are a few of us around
  19. No way, that is fantastic! That thing looks better than I could have ever imagined mate. Well done We have all been following this build with the anticipation of seeing you build a car on a budget and with a bunch of donated parts from the forum members, that Baja deserves to have a big MSUK sticker on the top of it. Now if only there was a "frugal ebay-er of the year" award, you would be up for it
