  1. Just had a scout, If mateyboy needs his trailer welding up, give me a shout. I'm impressed that there's still interest in developing the track , but ffs I don't want any more astroturf lugging in my life. I'll try and make an appearance over the weekend.
  2. Oi! Oi!, contrary to popular belief I didn't die of redundancy. I am now doing stoopid hours, plus the 1:1's are taking over, but it's summer, and that's the beauty of 1:5's - they always start.... Can someone give me a potted history of where we we are and what bashes happen at at the mo? Phil
  3. Hey Guys. Just in case anyone notices a couple of rolls of astro have gone - that was me and my Dad (As I asked a while back). It's now lining the gutter around Oakhill Bowling green. The club want me to pass on their thanks. Sorry it's taken a week or so to post - been having troubles with the lockup.
  4. Has it sat for a while? Try this, it works for me: Take out spark plug. Tip a teaspoonfull of petrol/oil mix down the hole. Quickly replace plug. Pull away. If it fires, it is your fuel delivery. Refurb the carb including a full detergent flush. Modern unleaded is full of wax, it is like colesterol and clogs everything up over time.
  5. Not to be pedantic but: This is an 037 by Tamiya. based on the Lancia Montecarlo (I've owned 2 of the real ones). The kyoshos above are Lancia Delta Integrale 16v. (I've owned 2 Grales too - the Kyosho is more reliable than the real thing)
  6. @Umeshg. I can't give much advice other than: My new wheels are FG F1 wets - because I'd got them handy - but you also need FG wheelsquares. Since then I have superglued extra rubber to the orig tyres and spun them down on a lathe. For spares search "Kyosho GC" on ebay. You'd better be patient and have deep pockets. Other than that, strip, clean, put pack together, enjoy.
  7. Suddenly a flurry of excitement! Astro wanted is 13" x all the way around the outside of the bowling green - so the gulley looks pretty. Of course I won't empty on the track. Apart from that, busy with the 1:1 at the mo. No mojo for the 1:5ths. The presence of a big V8 does that sort of thing to me.
  8. Would anyone object if I took some of the spare astro? My dad would like some for his bowling club.
  9. Ay up Matt. Track is easier and quicker to get to from Cheadle than it is for most of us down in Stoke. Anything is welcome on the track as long as it is r/c. Most run 1/8 buggy/truggy. We don't own it or have any rights over it. Collectively we are more like caretakers, so no money needed, and run whenever you want. Main bashes usually wed nights while it's still light and Sundays. Phil
  10. Matt, Does that mean we can all spit on you cuz you didn't turn up today? Heh
  11. Until it fell to pieces - note: not broken, just rattled to bits.
  12. I run 1/5 there - even an old Kyosho. They're fine but you might not get to full throttle/revs. A very short gearing would be helpful The thing with the jumps is that they are small but severe - they'll chuck 1/8s around all over the place but tend to kick the back end of 1/5 up after the fronts have left the ground - so nose-dive. You could always go slower??? Though probably the new extra grip will let us accelerate hard up to the jumps to keep the nose up.
  13. Have some pics of the track from yesterday:
  14. Do we reckon we could get it all laid tomorrow then? Weather looks OK for tomorrow, but yucky Sunday.
