  1. Right, this might sound drastic but I keep stripping the teeth off the gears in the diff. As it's a smartech there's no chance of getting upgrades or different diff to fit. So... will it be a problem if I lock the internal gears using something like metal putty, effectively turning them into single axles at both ends? I know the diffs help with cornering but seeing as it has the turning circle of a tanker I'm not sure I'll notice. Any thoughts? Only other option would be to try and get someone make me better gears but hate to think how much that would cost. Love the truck but as with most smartechs the quality of the smaller bits like diff gears is not great. Oh and it doesn't help that I stuck a really torquey motor but I got it now so I need a solution including the big red.
  2. Ahhh, that would explain it, didn't realise you weren't in the UK fella. Good luck with getting this one through.
  3. You might be lucky but very unlikely. The 20 quid is
  4. Bet you'd be surprised how many - one stop shop for people who can't be bothered to google for a better deal! Oh and you can trust argos!!
  5. It's okay mate, there's another Welshy Pete on a 1:1 car forum I used to be a member of. Same name and pic that was all. As I say, must be someone pretending to be you Maybe it's someone else from the Pete Owners Club
  6. Trafford centre tho - plenty of unsuspecting punters that see it, want it, buy it. Probably got a free bag, sunglasses and batteries thrown in as a special package. Just a minute, thats what I got with my mad bull................. Think there was a thread on here about how much argos was charging for their models and thats argos! edit:see above Yeah I mailed him to suggest he might have problems from the buyer wanting money back after pointing out what was wrong.
  7. I got the same engine from same place. Cracking price, only thing is import charges of
  8. Whats the compression like when cold? If there ain't a lot then it'll only get worse as it heats up. Plug: There's a similar thread just been going on here, sooty and it's running rich, white it'll be too lean. Fuel: 16% shouldn't do it any harm, not sure on a size 12 but 20% seems to be considered max for a 15. How hot is it getting? Have you got a temp gun or tried the spit test? Drip few drops of water down by the plug, if it boils off straight away then too hot, try leaning a little. Should be 3>5 secs to steam off for a good temp. But then different engines run best at different temps so still only a basic guide.
  9. You ate his mates? He's going to be p*ssed when I tell him that! Dude, you're gonna need
  10. Has at least dropped the 90mph in the title. Perhaps found himself the subject of on epic soapbox fight?
  11. I appreciate how bad*ss that makes you but wait til my armour-eating jedi squirrel gets back from Malaga, then we'll see who's laughing!
  12. Errrr, "any message contravening the French laws are prohibited." What's that all about then? I'm not really up on the french laws, will I get in trouble for calling someone a cheese eating surrender monkey? (Oh and I joined by the way)
  13. Not bad in less than 24hrs
  14. Yeah I thought they looked like a good price (but so does a lot on ebay lol) and I should be able to use the different rated springs on me different cars. When payday comes I think I'll chance one.
  15. If you're keen to get shot, go with the above - not sure there's anything they can do anyway is there? The above was only the advice that ebay dished out to me. Technically it's a legally binding contract but if the item has been re-sold then what option have they got.
  16. Might just be coincidence - am sure there's plenty of Pete's from Wales - but you're not a card carrying member of POC are you?
  17. Hard fella to please by the sounds of it
  18. I'll join mate but I'm a bit of a hoarder so not sure how much I'll stick on for giveaway. Have to have a look through and see what I got - deffo some wheels I don't need.
  19. It's alright mate, only me being cynical.
  20. I think that's an excellent idea. Nice work fella. The cynical side of me wonders if there's anyway to stop one or more people picking up a load of bits then selling as job lot on ebay?
  21. When I had a similar problem ebay advised me to wait 5-7 days. Send a mail each day, nothing aggressive just asking if everything's okay and they want to proceed. Bit of a hassle but the contract works both ways so you have to give them 'fair' chance - might have pc problems or health issues but will still come good. No feedback bit of a concern though just in the fact nothing really to lose by not collecting.
  22. Kind of related to the original question, anyone tried these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Answer-RC-3-shoe-High-Bite-Low-Wear-Clutch-3-spring-set_W0QQitemZ400103844602QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item5d280c2afa#ht_4127wt_991 New engine seems a bit much for the diff's on mine so liking the idea of hard wearing but with a choice of springs.
