  1. Cheers. I will order the EDS drivers
  2. Hi any recommendations for the best hex driver set? I would rather pay a little bit more and get a set that lasts. This one maybe? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/eds-racing-products-4-piece-allen-driver-set-1-5-2-0-2-5-3-0mm-/rc-car-products/29674 Cheers
  3. Hi I just brought down my hyper 7 and Hong Nor buggys down from the loft. I converted them to electric many moons ago and they have seen better days so planning on spurcing up a bit. Does anyone know where I can get replacement shells without the nitro cut outs pls? Looking to get back into the hobby! Cheers
  4. He I Froggy would you consider splitting? I don't need all the nitro bits. Cheers Gav
  5. As per the title, looking for a truggy. Either already converted to brushless or to convert. Cheers
  6. Thanks. If you could check to see what fits that would be appreciated!
  7. Thanks all. So are folks recommending I go for a second hand tt01 or tt02?
  8. Hi - I desperately need a new shell for my old brushless Hong nor X2 CR buggy. Does anyone know where I can source one or what alternative body shells will fit? Ideally one without the exhaust cut out. Cheers
  9. I have buggies, truggies, SC etc but never tried a drifter. Is this worth a punt? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/1-10-hobbykingr-mission-d-4wd-gtr-drift-car-arr.html?___store=en_us or maybe? https://hobbyking.com/en_us/the-devil-1-10-4wd-drift-car-arr.html?___store=en_us Or should I look at something else entirely? I don't really want to spend more than a ton. I have batteries and radio gear. Cheers!
  10. He just bought all those bits from hobbyking. Cut out the middleman and save yourself a few.quid.
  11. If you are are planning to install the optional flaps too then you will need two more servos and a servo reverser. Enjoy!
  12. Funny you say that I have been looking at the Vampire. Did you get the rtf or the artf? I don't need the retracts so was going to go with the artf which needs esc, servos and fan unit.
  13. Sean they are all still flying but my radjet is more epoxy than foam lol And my Durafly spitfire has been rebuilt more times than I care to admit ;-) I have my eye on the new radjet extreme they advertised this week on the hobbyking daily. Its not out yet but it looks sweet!
  14. Lol thats how it starts. Next thing you know you have a hangar full of planes. I have 10 planes and I only started flying in May.
  15. I asked the same question last year. Ended up getting a Horizon Super Cub. It is a 3 channel high wing trainer that is very tough, comes with a battery, charger and 4 channel spectrum brand tx. It is slow and easy to learn with and if you crash parts are readily available. From there I went to the Bixler 1. Re-using my 4 channel tx from my super cub. It was much faster than the cub and when I crashed it I found no parts available in the UK which was a pain, I bodged a fix to the motor mount myself. The bixler is a great learning platform, but I would go for the Bixler 2 over the Bixler 1 (I have both!) The motor is slower and it has more cf rods in it plus wing span is greater. Take a look at the HZ super cub though, it is rudder driven which is better for learners and slower being brushed so more forgiving. I upgraded I have mine to Brushless and cut Ailerons into the wings and now it is a beast so the plane grew with my skills and the 4 channel tx I now use to buddy box my son (I have a DX8i tx now). Good luck. Let us know how you get on!
  16. Sean bringing your old thread back to life if that is ok? :-) Someone gave me a hobbyking voucher for ny brithday thinking of getting a glider. I already have a bixler 2, so looking for an upgrade from that.
  17. Nice can't wait to see it fly. Been really enjoying my Radjet with a 2200kv 2826 fitted but like the idea of a bigger EDF jet with landing gear.
  18. Check ebay, but I suspect you will be getting much more than a tenner. The DX6i goes for around 50. The DX4i is the budget speccy controller that come with some entry level RTF planes.
  19. What are the common breakages on these things? I was going to pickup some spare blades and a body. Though I read the frames break easily and the motors too. Tbh mine has been bounced off grass and all over my lounge and is still holding up well. So I wonder if they have made the v2 much stronger?
  20. So you were right buddy it is the same as the twister/v949. The onboard video is a nice touch, but its just video no sound and my even my
  21. This is spot on advice. I bought a Hubsan and a larger MQX clone (UDI818A) at the weekend. Whilst the larger quad is fun and flies ok (and has an oboard vid camera) the Hubsan flies so much better, feels much better quality and flies like a dream. Going to buy a second Hubsan x4 so me and my son can fly together hopefully (if it is out now) the new Hubsan x4 with the onboard camera. http://www.banggood.com/Hubsan-X4-H107C-2_4G-4CH-RC-Quadcopter-With-Camera-Mode-2-RTF-p-75824.html Just order 10 new batteries from hobbyking too lol for 3 dollars each!
  22. Guys at the LHS said the video was impressive for the price and these guys have never let me down/tried sales tricks on me before so I hope it is as good as they said. Though I am worried I should of gone for the twister after all now with another store that has them in stock! This thing is very new so there are little to no reviews online which means its a bit of a gamble :-) The prop guards will be off pretty sharpish (assuming I can remove them! Will be be chopping at it if I can't) but will come in handy for my kids who I am sure will want to have a go.
  23. Impulse buying again! Decided I wanted an entry level quadcopter to learn to fly with and for a stepping stone into FPV later in the year. Looked at the Hubsan X4 v2, MQX and the Twister (MQX clone). Settled on the Twister due to the size and the price and it being easier to fly. Called one of my trusted (kinda) LHS and they said to get this instead http://www.tjdmodels.com/udi-u817a-drone-large-6axis-quadcopter-p-5103.html?cPath=15_238 The model is listed incorrectly here, it should read u818a and it has a camera too. Here is a better ad http://www.hurricanemodels.co.uk/engine/shop/product/A-U818A/Udi+U818A+Drone+-+Large+6-Axis+Quadcopter+(With+camera) For
  24. Hey Darker, useful thread this one thanks. So I am looking to dabble in quadcopters, I was going to get the V949 over the Hubsan due to it being larger and I expected it to handle better outside. I want to start inside but expext to progress to outside pretty quickly and don't want to buy twice. So you seriously think I should go for the Hubsan? The size doesn't bother me, so long as I can fly it in the park and learn the ropes. I am planning to step up to FPV via quads so need to sort out my flying skills first. Any advice would be appreciated!
