    1/8 sensored combo

Hi If you are still looking; i've put a new and unused 1/8 complete Tekin system RX8, 2050Kv buggy motor and hotwire on maxbashing Here http://www.maxbashing.com/mbforum/showthread.php?51802-New-Complete-Tekin-1-8-Brushless-RX8-ESC-T8-Motor-Hotwire
  2. There isn't any intention to mislead anyone, in fact i go to great length in the listing to accurately and honestly describe them. thanks for the insight it's appreciated.
  3. You've hit the nail on the head there and is exactly the conclusion i've come too, with hind sight i wish i hadn't included them, there wouldn't have been anything negative to put in the listing if they weren't there. what makes it worse is that due to the batteries people will likely think i'm trying to sell cr@p when in reality the car's fantastic, granted the chassis doesn't have the anodising left on the bottom, which means nothing, but everything else on the car has probably been replaced half a dozen times, stuff like bearings probably once a month. Racing almost every other weekend for a while meant a total strip down, clean and rebuild every other weekend, anything showing signs of damage/wear/fatigue etc just went in the bin and was replaced. still; you live and learn (it's only the second item i've ever listed lol) cheers
  4. I've not considered a buy it now and would have to think about it, people can always make offers. The ESC is 100% fine, the cutoff is set at 3.2v and works perfectly, some are a bit puffed because they are old, the tornado professional batteries always did puff up a bit (but i came third overall in the championship at preston radio car club using them like that) and finally they haven't been used for ages, hence i'm selling it all. it probably doesn't help that i'm totally up front and honest about everything, but that's the way i am (not everyone would be). the 5S extreme batteries in the listing where one cell was a bit lower than the others; i've cycled it again today and it's right up to 4.13, another cycle and it'll be balanced with the rest. i queried a slight imbalance with the shop when i bought them and he stated they need to be used a few times, and that it's common with the extreme cells, sure enough he was right but after a few charges i stopped using 5S so they've been sat with a storage voltage for ages and gone out of balance again. I did originally think of not including the batteries at all as i knew they would not impress, however it seemed a shame to bin them when they perform so well despite their looks. i consider the auction to be more for the wheels/tyres, car and spares (which are extremely good) and the batteries are there should the winner want them, alternatively if they ask me to dispose of them i would. don't know a price with or without. cheers
  5. Sorry mate; it's already all advertised as it is.
  6. Hi I'm heart broken but she's up for sale: all the right upgrades 10 sets of wheels/tyres 12 batteries and a fantastic set of spares someone will get a bargain! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230992763793?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 cheers
  7. Thanks for the info, having written the software i'm well aware of how to calculate the ratios, etc, etc Updated to provide basic charting based around the users selection
  8. I got the idea from a member that wanted to simply be able to compare ratios etc theoretically, of course there are many around, if it bores you so much then don't use it, simples...
  9. I prefer this as you don't need to know the ratios, just enter the amount of teeth http://www.prcc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2654
  10. This may be useful, available at the link from here http://www.prcc.co.u....php?f=4&t=2654 screenshots; Cheers
  11. It would be a good idea, sort of D8 Family thread, including D8, vorza and VE8. I'll get some pictures of mine up when i get chance, meanwhile one of them is below but it doesn't really look the same any more, it now stickered up and i don't use the high downforce wing. cheers
  12. Cheers for the heads up. Was toying with the idea of getting a nitro, i was looking at things like the losi eu, mugen, durango etc but my head kept suggesting the D8 hara as i already have loads of spares etc for it, then when i saw them for

  14. I'd play it safe and set it to neutral, i think you'll find that if it's travelling forwards and looses signal the mamba will apply the brakes, however if the car is in neutral and sat still and looses signal, it'll go into reverse.
  15. I'm waiting for my hara edition to be delivered. Technically if you have a D8 thread, I suppose it could cover the D8, Vorza and VE8
  16. Hi Jamo Yes there is a failsafe, you set it when you bind the tx and rx, i guess you have yours set the nitro way, i.e. full brakes and centred steering, you need to rebind and leave the throttle in neutral so that the vorza stops instead of going into reverse. hth
  17. The part number for the centre diff mount is HPI-67419, it's the same mount as the vorza < available here > for some reason the ve8 centre mount is narrower than the d8/vorza, strange as they use the same diff. For the spur there is the 48 tooth < HPI-67428 > or the 46 tooth < #HPI-101034: #HBC8027 >
  18. From what i can see there are two potential issues with the ve8; the composite chassis, or rather the potential for the front and rear elements to break where they meet the centre part, and secondly the layout. i know it's not ideal, but i think i'd bite the bullet and get an alternative chassis, which would cure both issues in one go. As has previously been posted; there are good chassis/kits available, there's also the vorza chassis but i think this would probably work out more expensive than the others as the vorza chassis won't include a motor mount and i don't think the stock motor mount will fit the 2650 motor, so there's the expense of getting a third party motor mount (which i use anyway as i hate adjusting the mesh from underneath). the first image below is a vorza with an Elite RC D8/Vorza motor mount, it's my race car that is becoming my bash car, the second image is my bash car that is being built as the new race car, essentially it's a ve8 kit built onto a vorza chassis, with a couple of the old vorza parts used to provide a radio and battery box etc, this also has an elite rc d8/vorza motor mount. so essentially it's a vorza as the parts are the same. HTH
  19. The electrical power, if you will, that is used by something is a combination of volts and amps, therefore the higher the voltage, the less amps are required.
  20. Paul I went into my local hobby shop in March last year, gave them the part number, and they phoned me two days later to say it had arrived. however i never use it, i always have the laptop with me when racing, which allows finer adjustments. Cheers

    Servo Help

About 4 months ago i started using a savox 1256 for steering, at the time it was a bit fast for me so i added a bit of expo, over time the expo was removed and now i find the servo a bit slow, so now i'm looking at the ace 1015. HTH
  22. Strange but i found myself in a very similar situation 12 months ago, had a bit (only a little bit) of experience with rc cars 20 years previously and was looking at getting one. lots of good advice on the thread and i'd just like to add; don't discount racing. when i got mine I didn't have any interest in racing at all, just wanted a good 1/8 buggy to bash about with my friends, anyway things went through a bit of a quiet period so i went to watch a couple of events, got chatting with the guys there and ended up having a go at racing. in my first event, 8 months ago, i qualified 12th in the 'D' final, with just 2 cars behind me and didn't finish the final, however when driving home my face was aching because i'd been laughing and smiling so much all day, i was hooked. Sunday just gone, i got my personal best finishing 5th place in the 'A' final and there's plenty of room for improvement yet. I'm not knocking bashing at all, within a stones throw from my house are loads of friends totalling around 11 rc cars, including mine and my ten year olds, and we all go bashing at least once a week, but come sunday, if there's a meeting on, we all load up the cars and vans and head off for a cracking days racing. Good luck
  23. I got mine from this guy on ebay, he was excellent Red Wire Black Wire HTH
