It's that but in silver well i dont whether to take that as a good or bad thing matt ... hmm well ill get the lipos as i need them, a heatsink and fan, and ill try the novak... I really do need to order that Tenshock

Well thats lipos sorted, but the 12t was under geared.. the aj suggested the 18t but since that was out of stock i got the 17t... so i have no idea

So getting the 60-130c 3s 5000mah... that will cure the lipos problem??

Hi, I bought a 17T pinion for my Hyper Mini ST and fitted it, now when I'm running I bring it in for some checks... I brought it to me after a few full throttle runs about 50 meters both ways, so i took the shell off and immediately i was hit by a gust of hot air, the motor was so hot i couldn't touch it, the esc was warm and so was the lipo.. The motor did get rather hot on the old pinion 12T (was way under geared, hence the new 17T pinion) The esc never got even slightly warm and neither did the lipo. The motor (4000KV BlacKMantis (from GiantCod) has a constant draw of around 74A-76A I think, The lipos are rated 2S 20c x 5000mah = 100A ... the esc is a HobbyKing 120A esc... So i don't see why it is over heating everything? It was well under geared and it is now geared properly, I will be ordering a motor heatsink and fan tonight, it's just the lipo's i dont want to over heat as they are the only lipos I have until i get my 3S 60-130c 5000mah... if the gears on some cars on here added to 100 i think we would either have a lot of slow and broken cars or a lot of fast and broken cars

on the 19x2 since it is so close to the limit it might be okay for now but i would see if you can grab a no limit esc, for the pinion.. i'm a bit vague on the whole gearing part of things

it is cutting out because the esc is wrong for the motor, you have an 8x2t motor and a 19x2t motor, your esc is a 20t limit which means you can only have a minimum of a 20t motor, to run the motors you have properly you will need either a no limit turn esc or an esc with a really low turn limit, its a bit confusing but it is the opposite to the way you think it would work, you would probably think this, you have 8x2t/19x2t motor, so then you would need a 20t limit esc BUT NO! you need an esc with lower limit than the motors... so if i where you i would go and buy your self a decent no limit esc!!

batteries dont one day go oh i cant keep my charge... and just give up all hope, just leave the electric to the people who know what they're doing. ALSO - I have had a set of turnigy 2s 20c lipos for over a year now still going strong soo....
