yeah the schumacer looks great.....but..... it has 2 engines so i dont think it would be very good as a beginner nitro ? i got a hpi savage x 4.6 reverse at christmas and that suppost to be really strong, although i didnt relise how much money you had to spend on spares !
ive got the x4.6 and the OS8 glowplug is amazing on it also you get a free HPI dvd included, this is my first nitro and the dvd was very helpfull. personally i like to use optifuel 25% as modeltechnics arnt as popular

i ran my savy x4.6 with rwd for like 10 minutes and it felt like it really lacked power compared to 4wd, couldnt get enough speed up to change into second !, plus the spur gear was burnt out like it was to tight
no i wouldnt of said that was standard... its called a slipper clutch because it lets the spur slip, but looking at that picture i dont think it would slip ?
bigger than the xl ?, you can get a upgrade... i think its called the savage 5t... which is the same size as a 1/5 scale baja 5t but with a nitro engine, pretty crap in my books... their bringing a 1/16th scale leccy out sometime aswell i think
to a savage 5t vid
is there a trim setting on your controller ? on my savage you can have it so it dosnt turn much or you can trim it right up so its got lots of steering turn

yep, ive been having exact same problems as you, i also have the savage x 4.6 ! im now wanting to sell it and get a simpler buggy or truggy but i still really want a monster truck, what problems have you been facing ?
my first real rc car i got this christmas, its a nitro savage... most times i regret getting it because its getting repaired more than it is working but hey, when its up and running that sounds makes it so much better than leccys ! also ive learned quite alot about engine since when i got it i wasnt very mechanically minded (couldnt even put a mechano set together!) but with the help of people on hear the problem soon gets sorted go for a nitro hpi trophy 4.6 maybe instead of the 3.5 ? would be quicker and is still in your £300 budget excluding starter kit and fuel
