What temp? I've got my system running so the battery peaks at 45 celcius, motor 70, esc 50. That's as far as I'm willing to push. Been like that for a long time.
My gut feeling is the 2-3s escs are not really liking 3s even tho the specs say yes. If you can fit it in I think you should try a 4s Hobbywing SC8 or similar. The SC8 is prob around the smallest footprint in terms of a 4s 120A capable esc.
Unless someone else knows a smaller one.
The SC8 states that with a 3s lipo attached motor kv should be below 4000kv so it will run your 3500 on 3s easy
Now reading the specs of the SC8 I'm thinking the smaller 2-3s types may only be able to handle 3000kv ish with 3s which could be the problem. At or over the limit on volts and KV.
I just spotted the Hobbywing Max 10
well im putting the Traxxas motor on shelf for a short while - and gonna run with the donor Losi 4700kvh, just because of the fact - its looking like the motor could be killing everything
Why cant castle max the mamba max again - it was a cracking ESC

Battery runs pretty cool tbh...

Bump
Talk offers if that helps

In 1 revolution of the crank you will get 2 power strokes = double the power (torque)
Rpm will not be affected in the increased department, probably loweres due to double resistance from compression and double friction
Itd be cool but probably not viable... in an rc

100A constant pack for a 120a esc??
Oh, and hobbyking esc's are a bit crap, in my experience.
I thought Hobbyking was alright lol maybe not?
100A maxed motor with a 120A Constant ESC (480Amp Burst)The esc in thoery shudda been perfectly happy with it....
8 minutes ago, turok007 said:cogging issues will be a rubbish lipo or faulty motor or ESC. But as i said before a bad motor will destroy the ESC
But the Suspect ""bad motor"" Ran perfectly fine for 5 1/2 packs
If it was "bad" it'd be from the word go
maybe the lipo is the issue? could be - but again why would appear to be faulty after 5 1/2 packs from last one?Eitherway - confirmed dead esc, losi motor's replicating same fault....

It did the same thing on the castle with traxxas or losi motor's i've got
Swapping to losi as we speak

Well its doing it again... ffs
The old Castle ESC died a cogging death (overheating within 1minute)
So i got a new ESC
Hobbyking Xcar 120A Esc
Been fine for about 4 runs
Went for a run today - and it was great for 5mins, then suddenly, no power, and coggy start....Loss of brakes and suddenly no reverse....
So the info
Hyperion 3s 4000mah, 25c
Traxxas Veloine 3500KVH motor
Hobbyking 120A X-car esc
4mm Bullets
Traxxas connector
Car powers up fine - Fan nice and fast - Steering okay...
(Video coming - Photobucket been slow to upload)

8years old... that would be like Byron Generation 1 lol
Were on Byron Race Gen 2 now... (wonder when 3 will hit?)
Give it a good shake to ensure its all mixed - i know the methane can easily leak out of an unsealed bottle....
Ziggy -
A good spray and possible lacquer to stop it chipping so easily
But tyres always get the ""kerbed"" effect without too much effort really
Ziggy -
Go 1 of 2 ways about it then
Get a faster RPM engine - which will give you more speed - but possibly loose a little on acceleration
or go for a bigger torque engine and gear it up
Tbh if your after like a lightning blistering fast car - time to go electric....
Also - what % nitro are you using in the current engine?

Where the video? I cant see a link / embeded video

Chopping new models is okay
But to be worthwhile u need to be fast on the ball...
I brought a trophy early version and split it up and shoved it on ebay
Some parts took months and months to sell....
Some sold like hot cakes
Engine tyres shell shocka sold quick...
Small things like wings body and other bits didnt sell quick
As a lone seller non buisness I did make a profit at the end....
Sell right and its totally do-able

The crankshaft in my engine is leaking out the back of the engine into the pullstart at high pressures (which means I get covered in fuel and green goo from the pullstart when I pull on it). Also,at higher temperatures, air leaks back out of the rotating port under the carb, around the side of the case and back up. This in turn restricts fuel flow as the pressure pushes it back. I don't fancy paying loads of money for a new crank, might even need a new case which means it would be better just to buy a new engine. Is there a magic way to seal it with something?
You sir by the sounds of it sound like you need todo an engine sealing
Basically using a sealant you seal the engine up to stop air leaks and stop the fuel leak out
Make me wonder if the seals have failed on yours.... which sealing putty shud cure
But means engine stripping takes longer as you have to reseal
Ill see if I can find the guide with it on
