  1. Brake cleaner pulls too much of the natural oils out of the rubber. I used it for a while and there was a noticeable decrease in tyre performance, so I went back to baby wipes and WD40. I've tried the proper tyre cleaners also and still think baby wipes and WD40 do the best job.
  2. Not unless that person likes cars that go up in flames! lol
  3. Toothache :( Really bad, feel like I'm going mad. :(

  4. I've got to get up at 04:30 and leave the house at 05:05 to go racing. Not looking forward to the early start at all. Racing will start at about 08:30 and continue till about 17:00 so won't get home till 18:30. A very long day. But next week I'll be out for a bash for sure. Enjoyed it last week after such a long break.
  5. The best thing to clean tyres is baby wipes, and the cheap ones at that (because they are no different from more expensive ones). The more oil that is pulled from the rubber the harder the tyres will become and offer less grip.
  6. How did you clean the tyres? Also was the track temperature the same as the last time you raced? What surface are you racing on?
  7. That's the subscription sorted for another year. :-)

Got way too much on this month as it is unfortunately, but will definitely make one of the monthly bashes soon.

  8. There's a chronic shortage of decent tracks in England. The only thing you can do is look further afield for a club. It's that or settle for just bashing. Where I live it means travelling, but we're looking for some land to start a new club. We've got everything we need (astro turf, track barrier material, rostrum material etc) except the land the build the track on. What makes it so hard is that if the track is to be a permanent and we find a farm willing to let us build there it requires change of use planning permission, which is extremely hard to get. We're hoping to get round this by building it in such a way that it won't be classed as being permanent.
  9. is dyiiiiing. :-( Full up with either flu or a really bad cold. :-(

  10. All well and good as long as the thief doesn't reinstall the OS.
  11. I uploaded a HD video earlier today of our bash and it took a little while before it show in anything better than 360dp.
  12. I'm in competition again next Sunday, but as far as I know I'm free for bashing the week after (2 weeks time).
  13. If you've only just uploaded the video it may not be fully processed yet. Give it an hour or two and it should be ready to view in HD.
  14. With this hobby it's so easy to keep on spending even when it isn't really necessary. Fun though nonetheless. lol
  15. I reckon we must have the longest thread in these forums now. Remember that 100 pages were deleted last year so the pages shown is not accurate!
  16. Yes done it now. Got the lead on the last bend of lap 4. Did it a couple of days ago and now can't remember what I changed. Think I altered the gearing to make it a bit longer and that did the trick. The only one I'm stuck on now is the Nascar around the Nordschleifer. Best finish is 6th and I just can't get it any better. Really doing my head in.
  17. Pretty good day although very cold. My fingers were well numb. That LST goes well Andy. Once tuned it'll absolutely fly. Loves cocking it's wheels. lol Video quality will improve shortly. It's only just this minute finished uploading.
  18. Setting off in minute or two. Don't know how much petrol I've got in real car so may have to nip to put some in on my way, but it won't delay me by much. Really looking forward to this afternoon.
  19. To set it up properly you should hold of both wheels firmly and with your fore finger and thumb turn the spur gear. You should only just be able to turn it i.e. it should be very tight, but not solid. Adjust the nut in tiny amounts to get it right.
  20. Just found a charger for it so put it on charge. It still has some charge in it, but whether it will have enough for the session is doubtful so please still bring your spare one. Now just got to clear my way to where my fuel is stored. lol Because of Christmas and the lack of being able to dry the washing the missus has totally filled my workshop with clothes and all sorts of crap. Thinking I'll have to kick out the dryer and put a lock on my door to keep her out! lol
  21. Cheer's Andy. Haven't got a clue where mine has gone, unless it's fallen down the back of my desk where I can't get at it. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get the 8ight started as it hasn't run for months. My brother-in-law might come along with me, if he gets up. So are we all on for about 12:30 then?
  22. I'm well up for it, but will need to borrow a glow start as I can't my my charging lead for mine. I'll check back in the morning to be sure it's still on.
  23. Matt, so sorry for your loss. That's heartbreaking to hear. I think we should all get back to bashing our buggies and truggies and generally having a ball. I'm well up for it this Sunday now the ice and snow have gone. I haven't even started the 8ight for months and I really miss running it. It's been too long since we were all playing together so what better time than the start of a new year. So what time can we all get to Fenton for? I can get there for about 10:30 - 11am if others will be there at that time. If not later is fine also.
  24. Coming in 2nd at Seca about 1.5 seconds behind but just can't close that gap. And the Nordschleifer in the nascar I just can't get anywhere. It's just way too slow.
  25. Well got the Focus ST challenge sorted. Easy in the end. Just set the ride height at about half way down and turn on the skid recovery force. Passed the Focus RS on the 4th lap with ease. Now struggling with the Laguna Seca challenge which is a bugger.
