Back from 3 days in teh bush, camping ( without tents) and walking around in the desert, looking at the worlds biggest rock. Flew down to Cairns and swimming on the Barrier Reef next Missing you guys....honest

1 week in...currently in an internet cafe in Alice Springs...off to spend 3 days in the bush tomorrow! Wish I had the Baja....there are some great places I could have run it....

sitting in a hotel in Singapore....weather is nice, and they had a big RC club/track on the way into town. On to Perth tomorrow!

Well...the curse of the Hyper ST continues. Pack and a half through it today, and whilst hte diff survived..the ESC seems to have consumed it's own internal BEC. At least when Howard Carter got cursed, he got a roomful of golden stuff to make up for it!

Right...fingers crossed. On my way home to run another destruction test on the Hyper ST brushless truggy. Will the centre diff live or die! I have got round some shimming issues by using a taller HPI Savage diff gear...so there is hope!

Hmm...need to update my signature pic. 2 of the 3 cars in it have been sold on, and the other one doesn't look like that anymore! Got to have a think about a new one

Yeehaa New 4 bolt motor on it's way via Fedex courtesy of Rob at IRC. Time to find out if the new CY 4 bolts are as good as they are supposed to be. Much better plating and stronger than the old 28.5s. Will get it bolted in as soon as it lands. Want it up and running for the weekend! Should perk up Shorty!

Chung Yang....y u so awkward! I want to buy a 27cc 4 bolt motor, and am trying to confirm if they are 34mm bore 30mm stroke, or 35mm bore 28mm stroke. Every website lists the former for the F270...except CY's own one! So which is it! They stopped stamping the info on and just stamp F270 in all the pics I can find too. No fair!

Just taken delivery of the 29cc head to upsize project shorty...and the barrel is stamped 30-35 ...... awww no. Invoice says 36mm 29cc head. Going to measure it when I get home, but I am sure this is not going to fit on a stock crank with a 36mm piston. One of those days

You order a motor mount from Modelsport, and decide to order a new antenna for your DX3.0 while you are at it, coz you have been meaning to for ages but not on it's own because of the postage. Then you open up your motor mount having forgotten all about the antenna nestling unseen at the bottom of the Jiffy bag. One half hour rummage through the bin later, I find the antenna...It needs a wash

The grand RC collection reshuffle is halfway done. The Sandrail has gone....the FG has gone....The Genesis has gone....and my PayPal account is bolstered by funds from Christmas. Now begins the projects!

Monster Beelte is now a monster beetle pro...and the brakes work again! Still have to make a couple of cable guards as I am running the cables between the shocks. It's a Marder type cable brake, and nothing else really works! Also raised up the servo. Just need to get some 10mm steel tube to make a new front rollcage section. Have made up a modded exhaust for the Baja with a flexi join ( but with a difference! ) which hopefully will mean no cracked heads in future too. Success...

One thing after another this week... new headkit for the Bjaa turned up without gaskets...sorted. massive nail in the bikes rear tyre..sorted...now the damn headkit doesn't fit. The way my luck is running right now I shan't bother buying a lottery ticket......it would probably catch fire!

One OBR headkit reduced to scrap metal. Major crack from one bolt hole right along the side and down to the gasket. Why couldn't I have found that out yesterday...but no..I had to find out after I had taken it halfway across London for a bash session! If I had spotted that Saturday I could have taken something else. RC Gods....you have not smiled upon me

Baja tested and running well. New base gasket fitted. Just need to re-torque the bolts as they settle in and fix the shell that fell apart! Snapped where all Baja shells do under the fuel filler

OK...Baja is all back together. New base gasket on the motor, replaced a leaky exhaust gasket and fitted a double ended choke lever. Why didn;t I fit one sooner? Now I can actually turn the choke off without having to fish the thing out from under the shell/rollcage. Lovely! Now to get a decent test run in before the bash on Saturday!
