  1. Yep, was a great day on Sunday, thank you Sam! Hopefully make it next time you have a get together as its a fantastic place you've got there. Well up for mucking in to help with any building that needs to be done as well. Nice to see all those pics of the "thing" airborne! Next time I hope that my landing skills will be slightly better.. Cheers, Lawrence.
  2. I'd love to come to this but its my w/e at work on the 27th/28th.. Any chance you could leave it until the next weekend (pretty please with sugar on top!)
  3. Pah!! You might be right, I guess... But at least it'll win those 3 meetings
  4. Looks quite nice with the chassis all in silver like that, much nicer than my V2! I've recently sorted the V2 out and found they benefit from a few things which might be worth considering in the future to help yours along.. The alloy steering uprights from the V2 will fit yours, and the new ones I got are now made stronger than the originals. They're about
  5. Just been having a good look at the Losi website.. The only real difference that they emphasize is the positioning of the shocks, which is more "laid down" than the standard 8ights. There's more camber adjustment at the rear and the front tower is more heavilly built as well. Apparently the fuel tank and body are different in some way, can't really tell though! The "laid down" angles of the shocks seem to have been done by simply narrowing the shock towers at the top and making them a bit lower, possibly making the car more stable? Can't see it would make a huge difference, certainly not in the likes of my hands!! Sure the guys at the top will have something to say.
  6. Go for it! They XTM is only about
  7. I really have no experience of the HN engine, on paper it looks great though and I'm shocked it revs up to nearly 35k rpm.. Seems a bit crazy for such a big lump! My only reservation would be that it would guzzle the juice down very quickly indeed! The Losi 457/XTM457/LRP ZR.28/Nosram .28 (all the same engine apparently) kick out the same HP, prob not as much torque though, but would go much easier on the gas, are very reliable and would certainly get your truck moving
  8. Not sure to be honest... I know some kit (Traxxas) that had to be sent back to the States to get it sorted which was out of its warranty period. Might be worth giving the distributors a ring or nice e.mail maybe?
  9. Sounds like Steve_savage is selling cars again!!
  10. Probably a manufacturer job... Unless you know anyone really, really extaordinarilly nerdy with electronics!
  11. Maybe its the incredible 90 mph EB4 again!!
  12. Soldering is easy once you've had a little practice and got the right tools, quite a handy skill to have as well. I actually stangely enjoy it now after working in pro-audio for a few years, wiring up multi-core cables and making stage boxes with around 170 connections in them!! If you do need some soldering done then I'll happilly do them for nothing but the cost of postage
  13. Any idea what the shipping costs are from HobbyKing Nathanio?
  14. Looking lovely there Windmill! I ordered some of the BBs last night.. Should be hear tomorrow hopefully Do the big bores not come with ally tops btw, or did you just change them to look even nicer?!?
  15. Hi! If you want a good but cheap set of batteries to start of with then these will do the job nicely, and will give you run times of up to around 20 mins depending on how hard you drive:- http://www.modelspor...on&ItemID=35614 These are alot more expensive but will give you much longer run times and faster speeds:- http://www.modelspor...on&ItemID=35687 You'll need to buy some suitable connectors as well depending on what model you're getting.. Personally I'd stick to Traxxas VXL 'Pede and Rustler with the 2.4ghz radios, then get some traxxas connectors for all the batteries http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=28795
  16. Probably not fast enough that he broke the shocks landing a jump upside down on some metal piping!! (private joke.. sorry!)
  17. Here's the 60A version with 13.5T motor, which is equivalent to a 19T brushed motor, I think! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ezrun-RC-Truck-Car-Brushless-motor-13-5T-60A-ESC_W0QQitemZ110486079006QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item19b97bc61e
  18. No worries bud. James does have a point though with the ezrun systems. They're supposed to be reliable and will give you much better run times if nothing else. I must admit to being a bit sceptical about them when I first came across them, but everyone seems to say good things about them and I've just got one of the esc's for myself...
  19. No worries bud.. Not selling the T2 are you?!? Hope not!! Its a fantastic chassis.. You've got me thinking about getting a new shell to spice mine up with now. I've got a very boring Protoform Mazda 6 shell at the mo, but something like a 911 would be great. Wish someone did the GT2 version, now that would be sweet!
  20. Stick this in ya pipe and smoke it! http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=29353 Great motor
  21. If its just as simple as what Sam suggests then I can do that no probs.
  22. Got dozens of unused/old servos laying about the place! If you think its an easy job then I'd be well up for giving it a go. Is there any brand of servo that makes it particularly easy, or will literally anything do? BTW... My soldering's good but understanding of whats what electronically fairly limited .. If you could explain how to go about it with that in mind it'd be fantastic! Many thanks, Lawrence.
  23. Hi. Need a little help! I want to fit a cooling fan on my Mamba Max esc, but not quite sure of the best way to go about it. The esc doesn't have a connection to power a fan, so figured that I can use a channel on the receiver for the job? I've got a Futaba 4PK, only use 2 of the 4 channels in the Rustler where its going, so is it just a simple matter of plugging it into the receiver on one of the spare channels where it will run at a constant speed that I can set on the TX, or is there a better way to do it? Would be good if the fan was controlled by a thermal sensor but not sure if thats possible... Any ideas? Cheers, Lawrence.
  24. Crikey! Just came across this thread and read through the whole lot.. Its like watching one of the soaps on tele! Glad its all sorted and everyone seems happy now, well, apart from you 19 inch guns.. All sounds bloody frustrating, hope you get it worked out. Don't know if you've had the 13.5t motor in the T2 yet? The 13.5t Fusion motor I've got is actually pretty darn quick in them round a track, but obviously not up to creating the huge straight line speeds you're after. If you do get the the silly motor working I'd love to see it in action... Please get a camcorder! Good luck with it all and any other projects you take on!
